Worst service I have had in a long time. Food was not hot, server would only stop of we asked for something. Had to get our own plates off the table when we were done. Won’t be back here ever.

Had a terrible experience at this place. We had a large party and they told us the wait was going to be 45 minutes and we waited for an hour and a half. After the wait, they were rude and acted as if we were a burden. Very unprofessional and not customer service centric. Never coming back and neither are 15 of my friends.

This has to be the nastiest food on earth. I ordered Salmon. Who gets Salmon wrong? Well, Black Eyed Pea of course. Glazed? You bet cha. Glazed poured all over the fish, all over the rice, all over the plate. GREENS, WELLRIGHTOUTOF A FREAKINGCAN, ASISNOTHINGADDED, or the ton of salt drained away. This place sucks, All Black Eyed Peas Suck. How they are still in buisness I will never know. That’s it for me, I’ll starve first.

So.. I went here with my family around 5 pm on Sunday 8⁄2. The restaurant was a disaster. Completely filthy. Floors, tables.. Pure filth. They sat us in the kitchen and you could see they had cardboard boxes on the floor everywhere in there. I will never go back. I took my family and left after the server said they were out of four popular entrees.. Smh

Service so bad we walked out after sitting at our table for 20 minutes and no server every came by to take a drink order or food order. We left after a couple came in 15 minutes after us and were seated and drink order was taken. We went here for the first time in a long time. In fact this would have been only our second visit since they moved to this location. It was a Thursday(July 23) night around 6:40pm. Was not too busy as we were seated right away. 20 minutes late no server had come by to take our drink order or food order. Not sure what the hostess saw as we looked in her direction several times. After a couple came in around 7:00 and they cleaned up a table(by pushing paper on the ground and under the table) for them, seated them and provided plates and took a drink order we left. As we left the hostess gave us a puzzled look, I told her we had been there 20 minutes and no server came by the table. Her response was«that is weird».

Visited there last night and had not been in a few years. We were seated immediately but we didn’t see our waiter FOREVER. I was getting very annoyed because I just wanted my drink. When he finally came, we ordered drinks and food at the same time. Ridiculous! On a positive note they have a jalapeño ranch and jalapeño gravy that is great!!! The food was very good but the service just started out all wrong.

Food and service just okay not impressed. Three stars due to great rolls, mac and cheese. So, chicken pot pie main item was 2 stars. Look where spoon is — Not much in there but a thin broth, little chicken chucks, carrots etc. big space between top of crust and soup!

I came here because Pluckers was packed on a Friday night. So this is all Plucker’s fault. I haven’t been to a Black-eyed Pea in probably 10 years. I don’t ever remember it being bad. Never great but not bad. It is now bad. Everything tasted off. The only good things were the bread and the waitress. Look guys if you want to survive you need to reinvent yourself.

So, last night at dinner when my meal came… they brought me meatloaf. I meant to order pot roast. So the runner brought me a plate with the pot roast on it and left it with me in addition to the plate that was originally delivered with the meat loaf and my two veggies on it. Several minutes later the server came over with a small plate and apologized but said his manager was making him take back the meat loaf and asked me to put it on the small plate. This was an absolutely ridiculous request! What was the point? 1. Are they going to serve someone else the meat loaf after I sat with it for 10 minutes and could have eaten off of it? 2. Were they just taking it back to teach me a lesson and then threw it out? Either scenario is pretty asinine! I will surely never return to this place!

Thats probably the best Black Eyed Pea restaurant. Everything is new, confortable and good service. Richard is the best! The food is really good too although I always order the fried white fish lol

My parents and I visited this location recently, for an early-ish dinner on a Sunday. They weren’t busy, just a handful of tables had patrons. We were seated quickly, so that’s good. Our waitress took our drink order, a simple one: water, unsweetened iced tea, and a chardonnay. Within a reasonable amount of time, she showed up with two waters and told us she’d go check on the wine. No comment about the missing iced tea. As a vegetarian, I knew that I’d have the veggie plate option but I also knew that I’d probably have to ask abut there being meat in certain items. What I’m about to say isn’t so much about the location, just about the unfortunate nature of southern-style cooking: all the protein options on the veggie list have ham or other meat in them. Seems rather ironic to offer a veggie plate and then have meat in all the proteins. That is: all the bean dishes. Even the cabbage. I did manage to put together a decent grouping consisting of asparagus, broccoli, mac and cheese, and a salad. I regret the mac and cheese as it’s like they heated up Stouffer’s — nasty stuff. My mother ordered the fish and chips, which came out super greasy and one of the ‘fingers’(yes, it was like fish sticks) was split all the way open as if someone had ripped into it before serving. She didn’t eat much of the dish. And my father ordered the chicken fried steak. He said it was really below average, which you don’t expect for what used to be the place to get one. Let’s get back to the drinks… Our food came and our server looked at the table and saw we never got bread and rolls. He offered to bring some. «Sure!» we said. We asked him if he could check on our drinks, which aside from two waters(only one which was ordered), and he sorta said, «yeah.» A couple minutes later I take it upon myself to go to the bar and get the drinks. On my way, I saw the manager and told him I was looking to get our drinks(we hadn’t seen our waitress in a while). He poured the wine, *handed it to me*, and went and got the tea and followed me to our table. Our waitress seemed like a nice girl, but — when we finally saw her again — she kept blaming the way her tables were assigned and that there was some«fiasco».(Note: it did seem they only had maybe 3 waitstaff, but the place just *wasn’t* busy.) She said the manager took the drinks off the tab and gave us a 20% discount. Everyone: do the math when you’re told this. I did, and it was only 15%. Also, I’d have expected just to take the one dish off the tab as it was inedible. If the 20% had been there, I’d have paid. But when you tell me one thing and it’s not right, I will ask. Finally we got it squared away, but only after the manager told us he could only do so much because he had to essentially make some money on the dinner. NOTE: they were all very nice in this, I was calm and polite. None of this was an angry situation. Just really, truly very disappointed at the level of service and quality of what used to be one of the better chains back in the day. Maybe it’s Arlington, as I do think there’s a huge quality gap there(sorry Arlington, but I’ve been there for 21 years and watched it grow). Overall: just really not good.

We go here for work a lot, and being so we’ve become accustomed to a particular way of service. Julia, in the bar, is hands down the best employee they have there. On top of her to go orders better than anyone I have ever met.

No hot water in restroom, unfortunately I went in just before we left. Only thing that was good was salad, rolls, and iced tea. Service was bad. Will never come back.

This place is great. Kind of like a Cracker Barrel feel for lunch and dinner items. I’ve tried a handful of different items here: Pot Roast– VERYGOOD, the Chicken Fried Steak– EH not so great it was just a lot of breading(so we thought). The appetizers were good. My favorite all time appetizer item I usually get is Potato Skins, soooo yummy. Pretty much anything you get here the main dish or the sides are very homemade and tasty.

I used to eat here all the time when I lived here. I was in the DFW area on business. I thought this chain had gone out of business. Well maybe soon… I got a cobb salad and broccoli and cheese soup. The salad was ok, but nothing great. The soup was watered down and only half full. They gave me cornbread and rolls. Maybe next time don’t re use someone else’s bread basket. ITWASALREADYEATENON!!! Never will eat here again. Plus no fork and spoon in the bag.

I used to be a big fan when I lived in TX. They have reduced my excitement and I am disappointed. The staff was great and served our party of 15 and let us use the Unilocal check in discount for the table. The food quality has changed. It seems this is happening more often than not these days. Maybe the economy is forcing these restaurants to buy from cheaper vendors. I don’t know but I expected the fresh home style taste and got the fast food blast instead. The portions were huge and along with the check. I might go back when I visit again to see if they were just having a bad day to be fair to them. I used to really enjoy them so I will give them another shot. When I do I will update my review.

Food: Good home cooking. Service: Sucked, Sucked, Sucked!!! She forgot orders and brought food out late. It was not even crowded/busy that night. Thankfully the food was good. Management: VERYPOORMANAGEMENT! Ran out of desserts by 830pm… How does that happen? Just plain ridiculous! Nothing but Banana Pudding & Chocolate Cake… but then even the Banana Pudding ran put too! We had two orders and one of the two orders was a bowl full of cookies covered with what was left of the pudding.

Nice place for the family. Everything on the menu is consistent. The rolls and cornbread, be careful, you may not be able to finish your meal!
