Honestly one of the best burger experiences in northern VA. Management and staff were extremely helpful and hospitable. Mac, the manager, remembers our name and our order. The entire staff makes for a very welcoming experience. We always have the original burger. Great. Simple. Cheap. Delicious.

I’m gonna have to break down my rating because I’m polarized by this place. Let’s get started: Service-2 stars. While there’s something«fun and exciting» about them cooking each burger individually as you order it, you’ll be lucky to wait 10 – 15 minutes during the slowest time, which I have determined to be circa 11:00 am on a weekday. If you’re a normal person who doesn’t get hungry til 12, be prepared to wait a lonnnng time. It has the feel of a fast food joint so it’s hard to get past the slow service. Food-3.5 stars. The burgers are fine but nothing to write home about, the fries are pretty good and they give you a hearty amount(read: 4 servings). Gotta say the milkshakes are probably my favorite thing to get there, and I’m also not yet used to the sweet soda machines that give you a soda AND flavoring so I’m still excited about that. Ambiance-3.5/4 stars. The place is neat. It’s different from the other BGRs in that it has more posters and the tables are pretty cool. It’s small, though, and I honestly prefer to take out-trust me after the wait you don’t want to spend another minute in there. All in all, I go here about once a month. It’s probably one of the closest things to «fast» food in Clarendon so it’s easy to fit into the lunch/dinner rotation. Give it a shot between meals or when you’ve got an hour to kill.

This place earned 5 stars from for the excellent service. They were so friendly and welcoming. I had a groupon and the person who took my order was nice enough to let me try the Wellington sauce before I added it to my burger. I passed on the sauce it was a bit too salty. As for the burger itself. I thought it was delicious. will deff go back sometime.

Sure, the burgers are decent, but really, would you rather have one BGR burger or TWO five guys burgers for the same price? Such is the quandary of the modernity.

I love burgers and I eat burgers everywhere I go and I have to say this is one of the worst burgers I have ever had. For me paying $ 10 for JUST the burger it seems ridiculous that this burger would be salty, soggy, without crucial ingredients like fried onions(which was advertised as an ingredient), and it looked like is the size was made for a Chihuahua dog to eat. The«caramelized» mushrooms were scooped from a mess of gross looking putty that was supposed to be edible? If looked like it had been sitting in that container for days and tasted worse. I am thoroughly disappointed with this burger and going to this place would be a thorough waste of your money. They serve a far superior burger next door at Hardtimes and Hardtimes is not known for their burgers, which tells you something about how crappy this burger really was. I’m disappointed with myself as last time I decided to never go back but decided to give them a chance and again they disappointed I would highly recommend AVOIDING this place. Just a sad representation of what a burger should be.

Amazing burgers! Every burger is cooked to order & the onion rings are the best I’ve ever had. BGR even impressed my super picky Mother. :) The sweet potato fries and asparagus were yummy as well. I also like the fact they also have other options besides burgers, you can find something for everyone. From the veggie heads and even for the kiddo’s. There is even a «burger bowl» for carb haters. The staff is very friendly especially the boss Richard(I don’t know if he is the owner or the manager, but he is great.) Heck actually everyone who works there is super friendly and down to earth. A rare thing for stuck up Clarendon. I have been to other BGR locations, but this one is my favorite hands down. Along with having yummy food, you can see the grill masters at work. They are even nice enough to give you some free pointers. They also offer a card & if you buy 10 burgers, you get one for free, which is awesome because the only thing the is better than a BGR burger is a FREEBGR burger, specially if it is awesome.

4 Stars! **Seriously DE. LISH!!** Why am I so late to this place? Guess I need to make up for lost time. The staff was super friendly and nice. Well maybe they were flirting since the guy rinsed the already washed lettuce off to make sure it was super clean just for me. But whatevs. I ordered the make your own burger and it was outstanding. They cook your burger on an open flame so you get that seriously good char-grill flavor going on. The bacon slices are super thick. The fries are bangin’. They have all the ketchup and mustard packets that you can grab. I like that. They toast the buns with a little butter so its toasted perfectly golden brown. Huge leaves of fresh green lettuce, I mean huge — and thick slices of tomatoes. Oh, and they have their own«Mojo Sauce.» Yumm. I asked for extra. They have beer on tap as well. And when you bite into it, its sooooo juicy. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it. It took me a while to devour it, but I succeeded! I may have a new addiction. This is why I stay away from places I know are seriously this awesome!

BGR has amazingly juicy tasty burgers and excellent fixings. At the top of the juicy burger food chain. There are other burger places similarly excellent… but BGR is deffo one of the burger joints at the top of the delish juicy burger chain. This branch has very friendly employees. Oh yeah… and it has the universal 127 flavored auto coke machine. Want a burger with peach flavored coke zero… brgr’s got it and your neighborhood burger place doesn’t!!!

Friendly workers, good burgers that are cooked to order, crisp fries, and they have Sierra Nevada on tap. It works for me!

First things first– the cook! The cook is soooo friendly and nice! He greeted my boyfriend and I with a big welcome and explained what was on the menu and answered our questions and gave personal opinions(which I requested) about the burgers. I ordered the South Western and my bf had the Beef Wellington and everything was perfect! Juicy and flavorful, cooked to perfection. I came back again because I really enjoyed my bf’s Beef Wellington burger but I opted for the sliders which were also perfect. This was cooked the way I liked it and my bf got the Cuban which he loved the flavors. I will be back soon to try to ahi tuna? or maybe the Greek!

I went on a Friday afternoon about 3:30 and it was fairly empty. The place is pretty small so it could get crowded fast with people going before hitting the Clarendon bars. The service was friendly and fast, though the female customer ahead of me ordered a more expensive burger than I did and despite us both having Groupons hers was free and I somehow owed $ 3.50. Okay so that was my wife but I still told her to check the receipt to see if the cashier wrote his # on it. As for the burgers, you can’t go wrong with the Cuban burger. Any burger that comes with a giant beef patty, a huge slice of grilled ham(no fake lunchmeat type stuff here), a large piece of roast pork, Swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard is okay by me. The fries are double fried and tasty as well, if you want a soda you’ll enjoy their mix and match self serve fountain that allows you to create anything you can imagine. This isn’t the best burger restaurant in Arlington but is definitely worth checking out.

They should rename this place from BGR: The Burger Joint to BG-Charr: The Burnt Burger. This was the second time I’ve eaten here, the first time I got the Greek Burger which is made out of lamb, and I thought that was really nasty, despite earning high marks. I thought I would give this place another shot since I heard their burgers were good. I settled on their SouthWestern burger, although their burger of the month sounded delicious, it was called triple up but in reality I think triple-bypass would be a more fitting name, a combination of Fried Egg, cheddar, bacon, and grilled jalapenos. Anyways while they were grilling it, I noticed they just put the burger on the grill. Now I much rather prefer burgers on a grill over a griddle or pan fried(like five-guys), but only if someone actually is grilling them. Instead, the chef just left the burgers on there, and letting the flames sear all over the burger. Literally, the burgers were on fire. I don’t know why the burger flipper didn’t actually flip the freakin burger. Anyways so I finally got my burger, and it was burnt on the outside, charred black carbon crust deliciousness! Bit into it and it was so bitter from the carbon. I could only eat part of it until the taste of charred-burnt burger was just too unbearable. In fact, I felt one step closer to developing cancer. At that point I just ditched this burger, and this shop. A huge rush of people came in, and they had another round of burgers on the grill. Same thing happened, they weren’t tending to the burgers, and just let the fire sear all over the burger. Pretty sure everyone else got to experience the black carbon burger specialty from BG-Charr.

I just got home from this place. My boyfriend ordered the regular burger. He said it was nothing special and pretty basic. He especially thought that it was pretty overpriced. $ 6.99, then another dollar for cheese. Then another $ 3 to add fries, which were just plain nothing special fries. I got the«The Wellington». It was completely covered in grease and extremely salty. We weren’t impressed and probably won’t be going back. The worst part is my burger was $ 9.50 and it didn’t come with fries. So for me and him to have 2 burgers, 1 fry, and 1 small drink = $ 25.50. That is pretty overpriced for below average food.

Fairly new restaurant found on a busy street in Arlington. It’s sandwiched among several other restaurants in the vicinity. Street parking is available and is very limited. The restaurant is kind of small and hard to find so be sure to follow the building numbers and look for the sign. On second thought, small may be an understatement about this place and seating is very limited. If you come in during a peak time, consider take out. In fairness, I will start off by saying that I came here the day after the major thunderstorm in the area so naturally a lot of places including BGR were not working to their full capacity and so patience was necessary. Service: Overall it was decent. There were only two people working and it was painfully obvious that they were overwhelmed. The cashier doubled her duties by prepping the sandwiches. She was a little curt… but then again there was the major pressure of trying to feed like 20 – 25 people with limited manpower and resources. The person who seemed to be the manager was also the cook. He was working his tail off trying to keep up with orders and was very polite and apologetic for everyone having to wait like 30 minutes for their orders. I was a little irritated when we attempted to order milkshakes and the young lady taking the orders told us that their ice cream had melted during the power outage from the storm. Twenty minutes later we’re standing in the pick up line and what do we see? The cook making a couple of shakes for some kids! WTF!!! I blame the cashier for not communicating with the cook to see if shakes could be made. DOYOURJOBPLEASE! Food: We had«the lobster», «the wellington» and an order of fries. «The lobster» is a lobster roll that was served across three slider buns still attached together and comes with lettuce and a dressing that had a faint hint of flavor. The sandwich definitely came in a portion size that worked for me(huge) and the cook was generous with the amount of lobster meat placed in the sandwich. The lobster tasted fresh and the lettuce was crisp, which offered a textured contrast. The sandwich was good but it could’ve used more seasoning to raise it up a notch. «The Wellington» is a huge burger that comes with roasted mushrooms, caramelized onions, garlic, mustard seed and blue cheese. It’s served on a brioche bun with mojo sauce. I was conflicted about my feelings towards this burger. It was definitely good and was filling. The burger patty was just a tad overdone, which is not surprising considering the pressure the staff was under to keep up with orders. I also think there was a little too much going on in terms of condiments. They could have eased up on the mushrooms, blue cheese and mojo sauce because they completely overwhelmed my palate. I love big flavors but it was a bit much even for me. The fries were fantastic. They’re steak fries and were fried perfectly to my liking. They were also seasoned well and came in a portion size that was great for sharing. The new fancy shmancy beverage machines are also available at this BGR location. Loved the different flavors of Hi-C! Hey Mom, I know you hate«unhealthy drinks» but you’re not the boss of me anymore! Price: Pretty high costs IMO, especially considering their competitors. For two burgers, a lobster roll, one order of fries and two fountain drinks it was about $ 45! I think this place has potential and perhaps under better circumstances(more employees, full power and ingredients) the food would be even better. I definitely look forward to coming back again to find out!

Lots of potential here, but failed execution. The ingredients all seem good and tasty, but my order of sliders took a solid 15 minutes to arrive(they weren’t busy) and they showed up looking like charcoal(see pic). Would have sent them back if it hadn’t taken so long to get them in the first place. Ambiance was«fun,» prices decent, and onion rings were tasty. I’ve heard their sweet potato fries are good too, but the ones I got lacked flavor. Bonus points for having asparagus on the menu. I’ll give it another try, but their cook needs to not fall asleep next time.

Nothing beats BGR burgers in this area. That’s my opinion. I think they’re better than Ray’s Hell Burgers. Yes. This location is awesome because they are open until 2AM on Friday and Saturday, the time when you’re probably looking for some awesome eats after a night of drinking. Or before drinking. Or both? Or drink while you eat, because they have beers on tap as well. Staff here is friendly and prompt, and the food quality is always good in my experience. Burgers are nice and big, and the fries are so awesome. I guess it all comes down to luck with whatever staff you’re dealing with at a particular time, but I guess I’ve always lucked out!

i’m a self proclaimed burger connoisseur and here’s my ranking of the burger places in the area: disclaimer– i like burgers that are not too greasy, tasty, offers something OTHER than what i can get at a fast food place, does not fall apart and doesn’t leave you feeling disgusting afterwards: 1. elevation burger 2. burger 7 3. good stuff 4. bgr 5. shake shack 6. five guys 7. rays hellburger brg’s burger was ok, i actually got the turkey burger and felt it was ok, but the fries were better. i also had a slider, which was. a slider. fries breakdown. disclaimer– i like thicker cut fries and also the option of sweet potato fries. 1. bgr 2. burger 7 3. five guys 4. good stuff 5. shake shack 6. elevation burger brg’s sweet potato fries were the ish, they were thick cut, not too greasy, and they give you a heaping portion! oh, and they have RIDICULOUSLYBIGANDDELICIOUSONIONRINGS. like huge. the actual place is in a great location in clarendon, cute low key date place if you want a non commital low key kind of date: D

While the food was great, I still couldn’t get over how pricey it was! $ 17 and some change for the turkey burger(with yummy, oozy gorgonzola mixed in), plus cheese(not really sure why I added more cheese), plus bacon, and a side of onion rings to share. It is almost worth the cost but not something I would drive out of my way to spend. The atmosphere is nice with records on the walls and cool tracks playing in the background. There’s also outdoor seating and service is quick, but there also weren’t many people there at that time, and the staff is very, very friendly.

I’m loathe to spend this much on a burger but I must say the burger patty was delicious. However, the bun is so flimsy and weak that it literally disintegrates in your had. Any attempt to put down the burger and re-engaging is met with tragic results. The fries were pretty good and plenty of it with a very Sidewalk Fries type of flavor and vibe. I find the price to be a little rich for burger and fries although if you stick to the special, it isn’t terrible. The drink machine is dope! Although I messed up couple times before I was able to get anything into my cup. Heck, if its that advanced, I should just be able to tell it what I want!
