Baylor Orthopedic & Spine Hospital

Nothing against the facility, the nurses or the procedure done here, but everything wrong with the billing and customer service department. Had surgery at this location and provided payment up front. A little over a month after surgery receive bill from hospital for amount equal to roughly 70% what was already paid… while it can be expected you will get some bill after surgery for unforeseen items this amount came as a shock. Reach out to billing department for many weeks trying to get a copy of an itemized bill as what they sent me just said «balance forward»…no details. After working with them… constant contact I then get a note from a collector for this balance. I call collector and explain situation and that I am working with hospital on it. Keep working with hospital and work with Kathy Mitchell (supposedly manager) who was suppose to send me the itemized bill I requested to include services paid for and what the new balance was to cover. Nothing. Call Kathy… oh I will send it… nothing. Keep messing with them so I can determine if I truly owe this amount that they forwarded to collection with no notice to me. Terrible place to do business… I jump through hoops and they forward to collections and do NOTHING. To save my credit I have paid this bill still without receiving information requested over five months ago and at least 8 times. Hospital staff did a great job but their administration is a joke… hate to have used them at this point in the process.

In my opinion this is the pinnacle of «elective» healthcare in the Dallas/​Fort Worth area. The facilities are totally first-​rate and the staff caring attitude for thier patients cannot be equaled. I am here for a «resting» weekend in between rehab facilities due to complications with me left knee. It’s so nice to be welcomed back and see all the familiar faces and friends.

I have had two surgeries here and I am overwhelmed at the courtesy and professionalism from the front desk until wheeled out the back door.
