Pretty good chicken and other fried foods. Not much of a selection. It’s Babes Chicken. They serve a lot of chicken! It is kind of dark, very loud, and a long wait for a table. So many people LOVE this place. The service was good, if you can hear them saying anything to you. I might go back, but maybe with only 1 other person. 10 people was too many to have an enjoyable meal.

This place is the bommmmb! I fell in love when my friends took me here. Now I crave it ALL the time! Best chicken tenders I’ve ever had– with the perfect crisp! I bring Chicken Express’s hot serendipity seasoning to season the tenders here. that and dipping the tenders in Frank’s hot sauce with their crunchy jalapeños on the side. PERFECTTT– if you can handle the heat! All of their other meat dishes are good as well– they’re not necessarily the best but you’ll leave satisfied. I get the tenders every time because I just love them so much. Let’s not forget to mention the unlimited sides. WINNING. Their biscuits with honey and butter. mm mouthgasm. I devour the salad because that dressing is like crack. The mash potatoes are eh to me. There are visits where I don’t touch it because the texture is off putting and it tastes pretty bland. I’m not a huge fan of their to-go bag concept either. There are days when a certain coworker is working and he sings karaōke. Always happy to come in on a day he’s singing– he has such a lovely voice.

Probably the best and only chicken house I’ve ever been to! I got pretty full pretty quick. The portions are huge! Especially the chickens, the sides were a good portion. The service here is superb, the owner is very kind! The only reason why I’m giving this place a 4 star is because of the green beans… Not a big fan of it. Lol. It’s really dark but not too dark where you can’t see anything and it’s really loud! Other than that I would come back! Everyday? Probably not, but every blue moon.

Let me preface by saying I found this restaurant while looking for somewhere for my family to eat dinner following a full day at Six Flags Over Texas. The food in a nutshell was delicious! My husband and daughter both ordered chicken fried steak. I ordered the smoked chicken. The salad was just o-k. The sweet/vinegar dressing was a bit odd, and there were no veggies(cucumber, tomatoes, carrots, etc) in the salad… it was just iceberg lettuce and this dressing. The entrees were tasty and hot. The green beans were very tasty(kind of salty though). The potatoes were more whipped than mashed and had sour cream in them, no gravy needed. The corn was sweet. Everything was great! This place is definitely on our list of places to return to when we’re in Dallas.

You can eat chicken at a lot of places, but at Babe’s chicken is more than a meal, it is an experience! Friends took me to one of the original Babe’s well over a decade ago, and I loved it, unfortunately I was completely oblivious to the fact that they had expanded the operation and opened several new locations, and now that I know, I am devastated at the thought of all those missed Babe’s opportunities through the years. But I am also optimistic, optimistic about future chicken. Fast forward to 2016, after seeing a Babe’s billboard on the road to the metroplex, I knew Babe’s had be a stop during my Wrestlemania trip. First of all, this place is country as hell, but not in a bad way. The dining area is huge, loaded with kitschy décor, and our server was super folksy(and helpful), AKA this place just screams«you are about to have a big, hearty, and delicious meal, and there ain’t nothing you can do about it, hun!» Though each person selects an entrée, it is all served family style, and the green beans, mashed potatoes, and biscuit fixins are standard, and come with unlimited refills. We ordered the fried chicken and the smoked chicken, both really good, though the smoked chicken was definitely better. Each of the fixins were tasty too. I’m really happy I got to reconnect with Babe’s, I look forward to future visits!

There isn’t much to be said about babes that hasn’t been said before. Is it the best fried chicken I have ever eaten? No. Is it the best mashed potatoes, corn, or green beans? Nope. But each of these things is definitely a better version than you will find in most other restaurants. The same can be said for the biscuits, and even the salad, which seemed oddly sweet at first but now I find delicious. The great thing about babes is that they pay attention to details. They chill their salad plates. They have honey AND molasses for the biscuits. Plus when the staff came out to do the hokey pokey they put their whole selves in, just like they did with their service.

What a ridiculously awesome place. We came here to visit and we wanted to go some where local. Our friends recommended Babe’s. It is the most fun place we went to while in Dallas. Sure its touristy and a little hooky, but man the food is ridiculous, the portions are nuts and the staff could not have been nicer the whole time. They also on occasion break into song. The place looks like an old western town what a great place!

This place was bustling and so busy when we arrived. There’s really no menu, you get your choice between: fried chicken, smoked chicken, chicken fried chicken, or chicken tenders. They drop off a bowl of salad and a dish of biscuits before bringing out the rest of the bottomless sides which included: mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, and corn and they’ll keep replenishing your sides along the way. Tried both the fried chicken and chicken tenders and they were excellent. This place didn’t disappoint.

Here a few points to keep in mind about Babe’s, which I highly recommend going to: (1) The building is pretty big compared to the parking lot. If you show up and search for a spot to park, as we did, you may wonder how long the line will be. Most likely you will find, as we did, that you can walk right in for a table. (2) The menu is pretty basic, with a few options for food, such as fried chicken and chicken fried steak. Both are outstanding and large enough — four pieces of chicken or a large piece of steak — to keep you full. The chicken is flavorful and moist. The chicken fried steak is large and tasty as well. (3) The meal starts with a bowl of salad brought to your table to be served family style in your chilled salad plates. If you finish the salad, you can have another bowl or more brought over. You probably do not wish to do so and fill up on salad — save room for the rest of the meal. (4) The salad is basic: iceberg lettuce. That is it. No tomatoes or anything else. It also does not come with a choice of dressings. The house dressing, already on the lettuce, is a vinegar-based dressing that is surprisingly good. (5) The salad also comes with outstanding soft biscuits that you can and should get refills on. (6) When the food comes, all the meats are piled on a plate for you to take away your steak or chicken and put it on your own plate. (7) Side dishes come in bowls to be shared family style.(See a pattern here?) You get bowls of corn, mashed potatoes, green beans, and white gravy. You can get all the refills you want. All are excellent. (8) Surprisingly for a buffet-style restaurant, they offer take home boxes for any food you cannot finish. I suppose it makes sense — Babe’s is not going to serve you leftover bowl of mashed potatoes to another diner. For one thing, there has to be leftover potatoes, which I find doubtful. (9) Service is fast and friendly. (10) A meal costs about $ 15. I enjoyed eating there and think that you will also if you like this kind of food. If you want a light meal, this might not be the place for you.

Ok why have I been going to the Roanoke branch of Babe’s when this existed just a little bit away from that?! This has smoked chicken, fried catfish in addition to the chicken fried steak and the fried chicken AND green beans that the other Babe’s doesn’t have. I mean if I am going to be gluttonous anyway might as well have all the options right?! Right! The food is good! Perfect for a lovely special Sunday meal. The service is adequate and the price is affordable given how much food you get.(Unlimited sides!!) The only drawback to this location is the parking and the wait. Both are ridiculous. It’s most certainly worth it! Plus the ambience is so quirky and cute, I honestly don’t know why I haven’t been here sooner! Solid four star joint!

IFYOULOVEGOODOL’ SOUTHERNEATIN’, THISISYOURPLACE! The service is very to-the-point, the food is amazing, and the atmosphere is very lively! When I went recently, a few of the waiters were able to karaōke some songs when it wasn’t very busy(in which they had amazing voices btw, at first we didnt know if it was a recording or live singing). I will give a tip on anyone wanting to come here during their peak times though, there usually is a bit of a wait, but it is worth it! This is probably one of the best places to bring groups out for a home-style southern comfort meal. Yall will leave hootin’ n hollerin’.

YUMMMMM! Babe’s was my favorite restaurant of all the places I ate at during my trip to Dallas/Arlington. Came here on a Sunday after church service around noon and luckily, there was only a 10 minute wait. Absolutely loved the décor inside as it looks like you are seated in an outdoor space with the brick floors and neon lights. Service was super quick and friendly with that Texas charm. Everything is served family style. You just choose your meat and all the sides are included and unlimited! We chose the fried chicken(4 pieces per person) which was super crispy and juicy. What was best were all the sides: mashed potatoes, gravy, biscuits, creamed corn and green beans. I wish I was able to eat more but my stomach couldn’t fit another bite! What was even better was that the entire meal was only $ 13! Definitely want to come again if I visit Dallas again.

I’m a huge fan of Babe’s. We don’t go too often because it’s a bit pricey and always a wait, but well worth it. The atmosphere is fun, and even the waiting isn’t a chore thanks to a cozy waiting space outside with plenty of chairs and heaters. The wait staff is upbeat, sometimes bringing fun entertainment to the table for the kids and occasionally breaking into song. The meal starts with a tasty salad and fresh hot biscuits with butter and honey. They comes meat, your choice of several including classic fried chicken, tenders, catfish, and chicken fried steak, all cooked perfectly. Unlimited sides of mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, gravy, and the salad and bread. If there’s any room left you can order a tasty dessert. Be prepared to bring leftovers home in a clear baggie, tho… Anyway, overall a fantastic place for a night out with family and friends!

We finally went to Babe’s during our last trip to the greater Dallas area and I can say that it was quite the memorable and tasty experience. For starters, it was a warm summer evening and the restaurant was fully packed so we had about a ½ hour wait. Thankfully, there were seats available on the patio/waiting area so our party of 4 adults and 1 child plopped down and made ourselves comfortable. There was a fan blowing right onto us so that kept us comfortable while we waited to be called to be seated. There is also a wash area outside, which was also a great touch, so you can wash your hands, grab a drink of water, or even splash some water on your face to further cool you down. Once inside, we took in the quirky interior and hodgepodge of chairs and dinner plates. It was pretty dim inside but not annoyingly dark or anything. The décor is quasi-Wild West and«cute», for lack of a better word at the moment. The food = yum! Our group ordered and shared the must-have signature fried chicken, chicken tenders, chicken fried steak, and catfish. Everything tasted pretty good but the fried chicken was my personal fave. It was crispy, juicy, and tasty but not overly seasoned or strongly flavored. It was pretty simple and straightforward but satisfying. I really enjoyed the buttermilk biscuits which were large, flaky, and buttery and are perfect with either honey or molasses, both of which are available. Do yourself a favor and skip the butter — it’s totally unnecessary. I probably enjoyed more biscuits than I should have but, hey, it’s not often I’m in the area and can enjoy this sinful, starchy goodness. We also ordered a variety of sides including the classic mashed potatoes with gravy and the creamed corn and they were both solid accompaniments. The stars of the show, however, were definitely the entrees and I have no issues with that. Our siblings had been here before and had told us we’d be better off skipping the green salad it’s nothing special and just takes up room you should probably save for the main items. Our server still(unintentionally?) brought some to us and set it on our table as she was en route to a neighboring table. At that point, she couldn’t take it back and would have just thrown it away so we kept it and sampled it so as not to let it completely go to waste. It was fine and all but I’d echo my sibs’ recommendation and pass… unless you simply must have some salad for whatever reason. The service, too, was up to snuff and our server was very informative and always around when we needed anything. I ate myself into a food coma and probably met my caloric intake allowance for 4 days with just that one meal. Buuuut I have no regrets and would do it again! I enjoy upscale dining as much as the next guy but sometimes you just have to roll up your sleeves and dive into the gluttonous goodness that few places can offer like Babe’s can! I. Shall. Be. Back.

An absolutely amazing experience from the time I got there to when I devoured my to go at home. I had high expectations because of what I had heard about this place. The outside patio was super duper cute with lots of sitting area. Thankfully, my boyfriend and I got seated immediately at noon lunch on a Saturday. The inside sure gives you a lot to look at while you wait for your food. They even had a guy singing Christmas songs live. It’s simple here: pick your meat and the sides never stop coming. They’re also very good at this so that we never had to ask for more. I had the chicken tenders while my boyfriend for the fried chicken. The chicken tenders have an airy breaking to them kind of like funnel cake almost. Their honey mustard is very mild with a very faint mustard taste to it, more sweet. The BBQ sauce was also very sweet, not so much tangy. The fried chicken was piping hot, juicy, and oh so delicious. I do recommend getting different meats since the portions for each are ginormous. Unless you can eat two breasts, two wings, and a drumstick by yourself, share with someone! On to the sides. I loved the mashed potatoes. The gravy was super thick and congealed very fast which made pouring it over my biscuits hard. The biscuits were fluffy and good but not as awesome as reviews made me believe. The greens were ignored since it didn’t appeal to my taste buds much. My least favorite side would have to be the salad. The dressing was so sour with vinegar I almost choked on it. We got the pineapple upside down cake to go and omg that thing was amazing. The«crust» part of it is pretty much just solidified caramel. So good and such a good end to our meal. Things they don’t have that I wish they did: ranch, Mac and cheese, corn on the cob. So since it’s a BYOB place, can I bring my own bottle of ranch? Haha

Traditional fried chicken chain we had to try. Food: 4, Service: 4, Atmosphere: 4 Cost to worth it rating: 4(think was about $ 15 a person – if that) Return worthiness: maybe Highlights: — Fried chicken: well breaded not too thick or thin and tender meat inside for both dark and white — Masked potatoes and gravy: butter with a bit of mashed potato made them super rich. Gravy was smooth and not too creamy — Unlimited sides included: corn, green beans, plain iceberg lettuce salad, corn, and biscuits — Biscuits: warm and soft. Went well with the honey on the table — Family style: sharing works well and I’d suggest ordering 1 entrée less than people you have since the portions are huge(½ chicken with hefty pieces). — Atmosphere: themed like you’re in Disneyland with cowboy building facades and neon signs inside. — Simple menu: chicken(fried or not), chicken fried steak, catfish Midlights: — Chicken fried steak: ok version. Meaty but breading was thick and not so crispy Lowlights: — Byob: no alcohol on the menu but you can bring your own — Beans: limp and not much flavor — Long waits: expect over an hour on weekends Glad we got to try it as it was an experience. Glad we had a bit of a walk after the meal too.

Babes is bae! Can’t go wrong here. However, I am mad that they took the pot roast off. And the brown gravy but I’ll manage I guess. The smoked chicken and fried catfish it what we got. The smoked chicken was so juicy and tender it was just falling off the bone… And the bone was breaking! So good and tender. The catfish is always good. The frying seasoning the cover it with gives it an extra crunch. Here the give you unlimited sides. The mashed potatoes are creamy and thick and don’t forget to throw some of that beautiful country style gravy on top. Yum! Creamed corn is brilliantly sweet but still savory. And those damn green beans! Unforgettable They had an employee sing a song while we were there. Best vocals at Babes award goes to him! And I sat next to my future husband(see pictures).

I was told this is the place for fried chicken in Arlington. One of my friends who lives in the area also tells me they have the best Chicken Fried Steak they have ever had. We came here on a Sunday afternoon around 1:30−2pm and there was about a 20 – 25 minute wait to be seated for three. Unfortunately, it was nap time so the child wouldn’t make it through the wait time without a meltdown. Luckily, Babe’s has a pretty efficient take out business as well. So this review is going to focus on the takeout side and the food when we got it home. Babe’s serves their sides family style in the restaurant so it’s natural to wonder how that would equate to the takeout side. Well, you still get it all! With each regular meal, you get an 8oz(?) serving of greens, a salad, cream corn, mashed potatoes, and gravy plus 2 biscuits. Yes, I said«and» and«plus.» That’s a good amount of food for $ 12.99. I ordered the chicken tenders and my friend got the Chicken Fried Steak The corn was good. It was still the consistency of corn with a nice buttery sauce. The mashed potatoes also were good. Very smooth a good flavor and no skins. Yum! I skipped the greens. The chicken fried steak is delicious and actual steak(I swear my last CFS was made of pressed together chopped meat). The chicken tenders were good. The breading was crispy, but more of a thin breaking versus the thicker crust.
