Alcova Heights Park

This is a cute little park that is on the corner of South Randolph Street and South George Mason Drive. Children come here and play in the late afternoons usually on the jungle gym and swings. There is a little creek that runs through the park but it is filled with sewage and I would not advise children to play in it due to the runoff. Across the wood bridge is a basketball court that is well maintained. This crosses over the creek that separates the playground from the basketball court. The park provides a lot of open spaces for running around and playing other types of games such as baseball or soccer. the demographic is very diverse. You have a lot of parents here with their children, and then you have nannies with their children that they’re watching for the day. You have sorts of different ethnic origins interacting with each other. It’s very refreshing seeing everyone mix as well as they do. To this day, I’ve still never seen anything negative. If you live in the area, I highly recommend bringing your children here to play one day.
