Time on door says open at 11:30am on Saturday, we arrived at 11:58, just after the owner opened the door. Fryers were not on, we waited 3 mins without even being shown a seat and left. if this is how they do business, I will never return.

If anyone on here knows of a similar spot to BBQ Chicken(or knows if Felix went and opened his own place), please let me know. I can honestly say that after this place closed, I get a little depressed whenever anyone mentioned fried chicken or wings.

Damnit BBQ Chicken… Where are you!!! I’ve taken you for granted and I’ve yet to find a comparable wing as good as you. I’ll wait longer than the usual 30 mins for wings if you come back! No other wing holds the crunch with or without sauce. hot BB sauceless or sauced up Teri… *sighhhh… I find myself craving and trying to find another to no avail… It’s like a girlfriend you let slip away… *tear*

We ordered wings on the last day BBQ was open, which was a littler over a month ago, and we’ve been hard-pressed to find anywhere better for wings. I was really sad when Felix told me they’d be closing. Despite the slow service, the wings were incredible, and Felix is a really nice guy. We’ll definitely miss this place!

I really wanted to try chicken wings and tried calling them many times, but they never picked up. So I physically went to the store to order, but there was a sign that says the place is now closed. sad, but true. :(

This time they were opened. We got there around 7 and sat down. Ordered around 7:10. Apparently, there is a new owner and he did not have all the recipes from the old menu and half the items we could not order. We did manage to all order something. My wife and daughter had the chicken strips which they both liked. They served I guess a buttermilk ranch and mustard sauce for dipping. The mustard was good but the ranch did not smell right so I did not eat it. It was probably fine but I just prefer less of an odor of the buttermilk. We ordered the seasoned fries which came out about 10 minutes before the strips. I ordered the half olive chicken which when I got it thought they had made a mistake because it looked like a whole chicken. When I inquired about it I was told that they split the larger pieces. This was a lot of food for $ 9.50. No sides came with this. If I went back would order 2– 3 piece with a side. They need to figure out how to get more sides as they only have the cole slaw and fries. The Chicken was quite good, crispy and very juicy. A nice flavor cause of the olive oil. Bathrooms are very very small. I have never seen any this small. The biggest problem is it still appears as the owner is the only one running the place. Very nice guy though and really really tried hard. I hate to leave something like three stars but we were there for 1 hour 45 minutes start to finish and it just is not that kind of restaurant that should have taken so long. Our children were very good but I am not sure they would want to go again because of the wait.

Loved this place. Open late and the olive sweet spice chicken is so very yummy. Service takes a while, but well worth the wait. And it’s BYOB! Woowhoo

Just dropped in to BBQ chicken after a long drive. I’ve been looking for good fried chicken places around the area and haven’t been particularly successful, so I was encouraged when I read the reviews on BBQ Chicken in a weekly Unilocal email. Lots of other reviews, so I’ll make this one short. Fried Chicken: Excellent. probably a 4 It’s a little spicy, crunchy but juicy, not dried out like so many other places. Be warned, if you grab a whole chicken, it’s a lot of food. Probably enough for 3 or 4 with sides. Service: I have to give the place a 0 Here’s how it went down. We walked in and it’s immediately a bit confusing. Take-out, dine in, fried chicken joint, asian cuisine place. There was a woman standing at the take out counter saying«HELLO» into the back room. Several times. We wandered over the restaurant side and noticed only one couple sitting at a table. The entire place was empty at 7:30pm on a Friday night. However, there were two or three tables that had dirty dishes on them. They clearly hadn’t been cleared away after the diners had left. We went back to the take out side where the owner/cook/cashier/waiter et al was in the process of being chewed out by the woman mentioned earlier. I asked if we could get the fried chicken on the other side in the sit down restaurant and he said«yes», so I grabbed a couple menus and we headed back over. We picked a table that didn’t have dirty dishes on it, but did have a serious slope to it that a matchbook/napkin under the leg wouldn’t fix. We waited and waited and waited. probably 10min or more. Usually, I would have bailed at this point, but it was getting late, we were tired and I really wanted to try this place after the reviews. Eventually the owner/cook/cashier and apparently waiter came out, covered in batter… I’m not exaggerating. The entire front of his cooks shirt was covered in batter, flour and various other kitchen/food prep items you don’t want to see before eating. His hands were also covered. He couldn’t even write down our order because he couldn’t get a grip on his pen. In fact, he looked at me somewhat sheepishly and I told him to go wash his hands. When he returned, which took quite a while as well, we ordered a whole chicken and some of the buffalo chicken wings. With that we were going to have two sides. Both of which he was out of at the time. Very disappointing. Eventually the chicken came to the table, served by, you guessed it. owner/cook/cashier/waiter(but apparently not busboy). This place is an operational trainwreck. We won’t be back until he gets his act together. I can’t imagine why this guy is trying to run every aspect of this franchise. While the chicken is very good, it’s really not worth the long wait, disgusting environment and tragic service. I hope he gets it together.

I’m sorry — but I have to give this place only 1 star. Sunday — 4÷9÷12 — I went there and the place was closed. OK, it was Easter Sunday and I thought a BBQ chicken dinner would be good for Easter Sunday, but I guess not. Today, after I got back from downtown Chicago, went there again and the place was closed. The owner apparently had a signed on the window saying, I’m sorry, had to closed due to a personal emergency. Ok, I understand there’s only one person running this place(from what I gathered reading these reviews). However, running a restaurant takes more than one person. If the owner had a personal emergency, then let someone on your staff to take over and still keep the place open while attending to your personal emergency. Bottom line: this place just lost a potential new customer, due to just poorly managing this place. :(

Man oh man. This is like a BBQ Express compared to what seems to be full service fast food BBQ Chicken joints in Korea(from what I saw online.) Keeping it simple: ½ Teri Gold and ½ BB Wings will definitely get any party started! I went back the next day because I loved it so much! I tried Buffalo and Garlic that next day and even though they were great, I think I got my «regular order» right the first night. Speaking of regular… I am BBQ’s newest raving fan! Spread the word because this place is tucked away and I would hate to see it get any less business than it deserves – it is indeed, the BESTOFTHEBEST!

We went there around 6pm-ish on a Saturday night. We ordered: Teri chicken wings — 5 stars. Huge, with glaze of garlicky and semi-sweet goodness Olive oil chicken wings — 5 stars. Huge, crispy, juicy, and with a kick Shrimp fries(free) — My kids LOVED them. The owner brought it out on the house since he saw that my son really wanted to order them, but I was not on board. He brought out ketchup on the side too. A big hit with the kids. Clam soup– 4 stars — huge bowl of steaming broth with lots of clams, daikon, garlic, and other veggies Side of daikon(?) pickles — 4 stars. Subtle, sweet, crunchy and refreshing. Perfect accompaniment to fried deliciousness. Side of rice(free) — Thumbs up from my rice lovin’ son. Warm and fluffy. Service — 5 stars. The owner was attentive. Water glasses with lemon were always refilled.
They are tucked away between Lowe’s and Goodwill. There needs to be a big sign near the road and a bigger and brighter storefront sign. Go to the loud chain establishments for the ordinary skinny buffalo wings. Go to BBQ Chicken for the BEST fried wings!

If the owner ever hires a staff that can serve in a faster atmosphere it good garner a 4.5. A 3.5 now. The food was swell. Devin loved the wings. I loved the fried in olive oil chicken.

Felix puts TLC into his fried chicken wings, some of the best I’ve ever had. Wings take about 20 minutes to olive oil fry, so it’s a good idea to call ahead if you’re in a hurry.

We went to eat here and loved it as well as the fact that the owner/chef/waiter Felix was really nice(note it is a bit slow to eat here because it is only him — just make sure you are not in a hurry). We were having a housewarming party and decided to order teri wings from BBQ Chicken so we could have great food and support a local place. Felix really went above and beyond — we will definitely order from him again. Most importantly, all of our guests loved the wings! We had lots of other great food but the wings were the favorite and we only had 3 left after everyone left out of almost 100. If you are looking for spicer wings go with the original chicken — the teri wings have great flavor as well. I really like the daikon that comes along with the chicken — I think they go well together. The fries were good too — crispy and a little spicy.

Wings and the daikon are good. Havent ordered anything else. Try the Teri Gold, Crispy, and maybe the garlic. It takes a while to cook so dont go there starving and expecting your meal to come out in 5 minutes. Oh, and the wings are pretty damn big.

This place is interesting because their food is great and price is amazing but the food comes out a bit slow. This is really the only thing that keeps me from visiting more often. I’m pretty sure they prepare a lot of things from scratch because the quality of the items almost suggests that they do. Especially with their fried items, they’re always extremely crispy and hot. I don’t think you’ll find better chicken wings anywhere else, especially the garlic wings and teri-wings. If you order their big pieces of chicken, the original olive chicken is amazing but their olive chicken strips don’t have the same amazing texture. For sides, I thought everything I tried was good except the corn salad wasn’t really to my liking. On the Korean/Japanese side. The udon bowl is a steal at $ 5 and the seafood noodle is good too. The bulgogi was spectacular although the shrimp fried rice was mediocre and tonkatsu was pretty good. They have a good choice of mackerel but be aware that you’ll have to deal with a lot of bones. Don’t miss their seafood pancake! Just a warning that a lot of the food is a bit spicy but soda price here is great(you’ll probably need it). If you have the time, definitely come in here some time to have chicken wings, olive chicken, and fries… you will not regret it.

I tried their«OLIVECHICKENSTRIPS», and I loved it! It was not dry or over fried. I hope that they have healthy menu, like salads or grilled chiecken. Their manu is all about deep fry, but they are very good. Also, their service is very heartful. I hope that there are more people recognize this place and visit.

This restaurant opened this year and they are connected to the sake bar next door. I believe you can order chicken from them if you are in the sake bar. BBQ Chicken is a fried chicken chain from South Korea. BBQ stands for Best of the Best Quality Chicken and not barbecue. They fry their chicken in olive oil and it took them years to develop an olive oil for frying that doesn’t burn when you heat it to the temperature needed to deep fry. I had their chicken in Seoul the night before I came back to Chicago. Their chicken strips are awesome, their sweet and spicy wings are delicious. As with all Korean fried chicken places, they serve pickled turnip as a pallet cleanser. One day I opened the local free Korean ad paper and saw an ad for BBQ Chicken grand opening. I was so happy but it took me a while to make my way out to Arlington Heights from the city(a few months, actually). The restaurant itself is small with only one table, probably just to sit while you wait for your carry out order. They are opened late nights everyday except Sunday(despite what their ad in the Korean Chicago yellow pages says…). I ordered the BB Wings and the Teri-Gold wings with waffle fries for about $ 20. They are currently having a grand opening special where you get 5 free wings with a $ 20 or more purchase. The BB Wings are a sauceless hot wing and are very spicy, maybe even too spicy. The teri-gold wings are rice flour battered fried wings glazed in teriyaki sauce. They are amazing and I definitely recommend them. The waffle fries are also very good, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The free wings I got with my order were also excellent. The woman taking my order seemed to be very happy I was there. She even gave me a free can of soda. I hope more people come to order their chicken, it is definitely worth the drive to Arlington Heights. The #606 Pace Bus actually stops very close to the restaurant but there are no stop lights at Algonquin and Golf Rd.
