Love this truck, I always get the BBQ Pork on Skewers, sometimes I got combo– which is just basically rice, but the owners are always letting you sample different things. It’s great food, with nice owners. Really like it.

@jpneymealsnwils We love this truck! We’ve tried many,(and there are many), Filipino food trucks out there. I have to say this truck cooks up some of the best Sisig we’ve tried. It’s clean tasting with a note of citrus that truly satisfies. The bbq on a stick is tender and juicy and the lumpia… crisp and delicious! The people are very nice as well. I just wish they’d answer their emails because we tried to get them to come to our workplace and never heard back from them.

Tried them at the santa clarita street festival. Ordered lumpia shanghai(good and moist, not greasy), adobo(lacking flavor– more garlic & vinegar needed), chicken bbq stick(good but not distinguishable as pinoy bbq. Could have been any chick on a stick bbq), banana turon(good). Overall just ok. American palettes would probably enjoy.

This was going to be my last meal before I flew back to San Jose and so I headed to the Santa Monica food truck row on a weekday off 26th and Philadelphia. There were at least seven trucks there but I did see a line at Pinoy Jeepney so I headed over there to try a few things. I ordered the shanghai lumpia and the turron banana. I got the turron first and it was crispy deep fried and done as good as I remembered when I first had it. The banana was sweet and delicious! The lumpia… well…the guy came out and told me that it wasn’t cooking properly so they asked me if I could sub it for something else. I told him that I’ll take a chicken skewer. To make up for the delay, they threw in a tamarind boba drink as well. I definitely will keep this truck in mind if I ever see them at a LA food truck meet. If I wasn’t so short on time, I would’ve wanted to try the combo silogs.

Went to Atomic Eats Black Friday event. Went for 3 specific trucks and found one not on their online line-up. Pinoy Jeepney what a nice little surprise! I had never actually heard of this truck before, but their food pictures intrigued me. I ordered the Sisig w/garlic rice($ 7). My girls ordered the Bistek w/steamed rice($ 7) and the empanadas($ 2/ea). The sisig was tender and juicy. The bistek was full of flavor and the empanadas were very good. Will definitely be ordering off this truck again in the future.

*Approaches truck* Me — Which is better, the lumpia or shanghai lumpia? Cashier — Well, their different. Lumpia is all veggies and shanghai lumpia is fried. Me — Which is more popular? Cashier — Shanghai lumpia. Cook — Shanghai lumpia! It’s fried! The lumpia isn’t! Easy decision! SOLD. As soon of those little, crispy, pork filled egg rolls hit my mits, I was in heaven. The bite-size goodness packed a shit ton of flavor. The accompanying red sauce was sticky and sweet but ended with a nice cayenne kick. I washed it down with mango juice, which was interesting, but I couldn’t stop drinking it. After being underwhelmed by other Filipino food truck fare(i.e. White Rabbit), I was pleasantly surprised by Pinoy Jeepney. Though I didn’t try any of their entrees, the appetizers performed well enough that I’d be willing to give their adobo a go.

Fresh Lumpia. It’s like an un-fried lumpia but it looks more like a Filipino crêpe: Lumpia wrapper stuffed with shredded carrots and turnups. There was one lettuce leaf in there. Maybe one other type of vegetable in there. Sprinkled with peanuts and drowned in a sweet garlic sauce. $ 4. I wasn’t into it. Maybe I’m not Pinay enough. :/

I wanted to fall in love with this truck. Love the décor of the truck and the Pinoy Jeepney name. We walked the length of all the trucks and decided to stick to this one. We ordered the sisig($ 7) and the pork BBQ($ 6). I had coupons from their site for two free gulaman drinks. All told it was $ 13, not a bad deal with the drinks. The sisig was just okay. I did not like the pork BBQ at all. It didn’t taste like the usual Filipino pork BBQ. I barely ate my meal and ended up buying another meal from a different truck. I did like that they had atchara with the meal. I think it’s a great idea. The portions are small for the price but just perfect serving. No need to over eat. I think they should use paper box containers for food. The styrofoam ones are too big for the servings. The paper is eco friendly, will show the food better, make the servings look bigger, and the portions will still be filling. With that said, their prices should drop down to $ 5 or less. That would make them more competitive and reel in more customers. I’ll give them 3 stars but more like 2.5 as they are average right now. I hope they improve and their food become more flavorful. I would love to see them succeed and help make Filipino food become mainstream.

Had the chicken bbq skewer plate. Soooo good! The chicken was perfectly cooked and was nice and soft. Also had the lumpia which was delicious as well. What I didn’t expect was the Halo Halo. I was pleasantly surprised this was on their menu and just had to order one. They use vanilla ice cream instead of Taro but I didn’t care. It was really good. I never heard of this truck before but was checking out all the other trucks for something for my little one to eat and this was the only truck that had chicken skewers(food that I knew she’d eat) and stopped here. Glad I did! She got her grub on… and she enjoyed it. She said it was so delicious but she was so full and couldn’t finish it.

The Tapsilog is good.(not as good as Tapa Boy). meat is tender but lacking in flavor. They serve it with steamed rice instead of Sinangag or Garlic Fried Rice which kinda bummed me out. On the other hand, the SISIG is awesome and delicious! Im gonna give this truck another try next week. the halo-halo and the BBQ looks delish!

You know those three-compartment Styrofoam containers with a big triangle shaped compartment in the center and two smaller compartments in the top left and right corners? That;s what they use at Pinoy Jeepney, and while I thought I was getting sisig with a side of rice, what I wound up was rice with a side of sisig. Yep, the compartment which held about 70% of my meal was nothing but two large scoops of plain, unflavored, whit, e steamed rice. the sisig, which is the dish I ordered, was confined to the little upper left compartment. I was disappointed as soon as I opened the container. I wonder if I could have had garlic rice, but they didn;t offer me that option when I ordered. The Sisig was OK though, even though the portion was small. They cut the pork into small cubes, and marinated it nicely. I did get a couple of pieces of gristle though, it could have been trimmed a lot better, but still it was tasty. I also had a side order of lumpia. This was a real side; 5 fried mini pork and chicken egg rolls, These were done just right, crispy on the outside nut with the moist centers I would have expected. All told it was $ 9.00 for the meal and a can of Diet Coke. the owner(I think his name was Andrew, but I am bad with names) was friendly and enthusiastic. So was his crew and I think this truck will do well… …and sells lots and lots of rice. Gourmet Food Truck #161 on my never-ending quest to try every truck in «So Cal»

Came to Eagle Rock to finally try THEPINOYJEEPNEY with a friend. I was very excited to see what the truck would have. I love this truck because they serve a wide variety of my favorite dishes! We tried the sisig and tapsilog that came in a wonderful portion. I especially loved the garlic rice that accompanied these dishes. You could see the toasted brown garlic on top of the steaming white rice. It comes with a sunny side up egg and I love breaking the yoke and mixing it with my rice… delicious! The pork sisig was well done and I enjoyed it as much as the tapsilog. It’s best to dip the sisig in the vinegar or eat it with the sweet atchara. The good thing about pinoy jeepney is that it offers a variety of meat: pork, chicken, or beef… your pick! I really love the idea that filipino cuisine is branching out and there is more exposure. People are willing to try thai or japanese food but almost know nothing about filipino food. I’d love to see a diverse group of people standing and waiting in line to try some of our bbq. I’d like to see them on the sidewalk munching on our empanadas and fresh lumpia. Especially now since it’s summer… the halo-halo would be an excellent choice to enjoy! Next on my list are: kare-kare and mango juice! FOLLOWONTWITTER: Note: This is my first time eating at a Filipino food truck. I’ve yet to try White Rabbit though I’m sure I will be sticking around Pinoy Jeepney more often!
