Alright Unilocalers, I read your reviews about the infamous grouchy woman with awful customer service skills and I will say… You’re all right! I’ve encountered this woman. But! It appears that she is gone! My 4⁄5 stars are simply to review the food. 4⁄5 because I think the curtido portions should be increased. Yet, The Pupusas are great! Cheesy, and full of delicious flavor! Had a plain cheese one and one with lorocco(a type of edible vegetable flower bud, like a cross between a squash flower and a caper). The curtido(cabbage salad) is okay, as is the sauce. The real reason to come here is the Pupusas. Yesterday was the day for special pricing but she honored that for us today, very sweet! All in all, a great place to get Pupusas. I had my order to go. The woman behind the counter only speaks Spanish, so I’m sure it could seem like she’s rude too. But, there’s just a language barrier, practice kindness and patience and I’m sure she’ll treat you well. I hope. Check it out for yourselves. :)

I read several of the reviews below… haha. Here is the scoop. if you are going for food like me it’s great! I love the pupusas and the platanos con frijoles! annnd YES getting used to the lady’s attitude takes a while. My wife a hates it here too but loves her freaken food. Now granted the lady has hung up on me several times while I pause halfway with my order over the phone(Now that’s funny) but I just call back and let her know I’m adding to the order. So yea I get it some you are a little sensitive. I was to at first but I got the hang of her attitude. The lady is old and c’mon man maybe its us that need to be more understanding. You try running a FOOD business at an old age… it’s gotta be tough. Oh and I never eat there I always call and I pick up. So I adjusted. it’s all good…

If there were negative stars I would start off with that. From the moment we got there we felt like we were intruding. The owner of the restaurant barely acknowledged is(we were the ONLY ones there) and was rude upon ordering. She took her time getting my coffee, she was on the phone the whole time. I asked for a glass of water and she brings me back a water bottle without telling me she was charging me for it. I ask her how much it was and she told«you should ask what the price is first» so rude!!! Once my coffee arrived(15 mins later) I asked where the cream was and hell broke loose. She told me «well if you wait you’ll get it» and it snowballed. She told me if I didn’t like it I didn’t have to drink it and I called her a «vieja amargada» before walking out. Not worth one cent will NEVER go back!

This little place its kind of hard to see but this place has the best pupusas I’ve ever tried. This place its not that big so there’s always empty tables when I get there I give them a call before I get there so I know I don’t have to be waiting for my food I’ll recommend this place to everybody!

I’m torn with this place. let me start off by saying I’ve never felt more unwelcome at a restaurant. the staff is rude hostile and will not accomodate any special orders such as plain cheese pupusas only with loroco. They never greet you with a smile or say«Hello» they just stare at you until you approach them. Once you do its a very serious tone, no suggestions or comments about the food and are very short with you. If you’re not prepared with your order you get an exasperated sigh of annoyance. Now, with all that said these are the BEST pupusas I’ve had in years and for this reason alone I intentionally endure the horrible service by staff just to get my hands on those delicious pupusas. funny thing is every time I say ‘this is the last time I go there” yet when i want a GOOD pupusa its the top of my list. All in all i would recommend as take out but not dine in unless you like rude staff.

Given the fact that i only see english reviews, mine goes in Spanish.

Middle of the day. No one else is there. She’s on the phone. Rolled her eyes when I asked for the bathroom instead of ordering. Walked out after she threw her order pad on the next table and rolled her eyes at us. At least none of this interrupted her phone call. So I don’t know if the food is good but the customer service is horrible.

The best pupusas in The Valley! I have tried too many places and they just don’t come close to the taste of this place. All of their food here is good but the pupusas take the grand prize. The lady can use some people skills but ehhhh, what are you going to do.

This is my all time favorite pupusa place! I always recommend it. I am Central American and I know good food. The lady is not your average friendly person and in fact it is due to her culture. Shes just more in the serious side. Once you get to actually know her she is a total sweetheart and has been through a lot. The food is delicious, worth it, and best of all it is super cheap in price. If you want crappy food and horrible service then go to el pulgarsito… Other than that the food here is excellent and I drive to come eat here all the time.

The pupusas are good and the curtido is too but the older gal is a bit hostile and the horchata had a metallic aftertaste. It’ll get the job done but with so many other options nearby you may want to look eslewhere.
