SushiLand was closed, so we tried somewhere new for a change. It was more expensive, but the reviews were good so we thought it might be worth it. We were wrong. 1⁄5 rolls was only ok, 2⁄5 were edible, and the other 2 were either gross or so boring it was like eating plain rice. $ 60+ and you would think you’d have at least a few that you’d consider great. 2 stars bc the service was very quick and they were nice. And we didn’t get sick or anything. Next time we’ll stick with Sushiland.

Great joint for some very good sushi at a decent price! We ordered Togo and the staff was very friendly on the phone and in person. 10 minutes and our order was ready, the spicy tuna was some of the best I have had and I get it wherever we go for sushi. My wife loved the shrimp and mango roll and the Alaskan is a nice touch. The house salad had some extra large pieces of iceberg lettuce that needed to be cut a couple more times and the order didn’t come with chopsticks which is weird but overall this was some very good sushi!

This place has great sushi! And a large cocktail menu! And stiff drinks! And a whole refrigerator of beer and drinks(lambic!) that you can take go-to. And the ambiance is so cute! I liked my dinner here. I liked it a lot. I will come back. Nothing else needs to be said.

Great sushi and sashimi. Super slow service. Disorganized(at least during late dinnertime).

Service is great. Staff is friendly and attentive! The sushi looks great, but the taste doesn’t match. Didn’t taste fresh and I’ve definitely had better sushi. I ordered the Dragon and Scorpion roll, both were alright. Don’t think I’ll be coming back.

So this place is now Herosame, but it was HArUsame(they changed spelling, not sure when) but as of 9−15−16 they still have a menu and website up online under their old name, same phone number and address and photo etc. That website doesn’t say anything about a new name or re-direct you to a new site. I ordered sushi to-go from the menu online and when I saw the receipt I saw everything increased in price by $ 2-$ 3. I called them to ask why I was being charged more than the prices on the menu, and they explained they’d changed their name and have a new menu, unfortunately I went to the old website so I was out of luck — they did not refund any money. I am debating whether to fight the charge on my credit card. It’s only ~$ 10 but its pretty irresponsible for a business to have a website up with the same address, phone and photo and a slightly different name — showing incorrect(lower) prices. The in-resturant experience here I don’t really like because it isn’t dependable — it could be very crowded if a small number of people all decide to get sushi, it can be very loud with one loud group in the room etc. They have about ~15 tables, despite being small and nicely designed/decorated, the room is just echoey and the sound reverberates, so for such a small space it feels cavernous(I think from high ceiling). The wait staff have always been friendly and fast etc, I just like quieter restaurants, and not to be so hit and miss on the ambience. The sushi overall is decent. I thought they were over-charging by a few dollars on the old menu, with the new menu and across the board price increases — now I think it’s just plain expensive for what it is. They have some creative rolls(most sushi restaurants do), and make a very good hamachi collar. They take a few short cuts though. Rolls that say scallop topping are actually very little scallop and mostly chopped crab stick. But overall it’s good sushi if you don’t mind it being on the pricey side.

I really have no idea what some of these negatives reviews are talking about. My boyfriend and I have come here almost weekly for the past 2 years, and personally I think this is THEBEST sushi I’ve ever had, anywhere. Honestly I can’t go to sushi restaurants anymore if it’s not here, because these folks have set the bar so high(and I have been to sushi restaurants in many different states — even ones considers to be «nicer» and«more famous» can’t compete). Freshest fish hands down. I eat raw sushi, my boyfriend doesn’t, but he says the cooked rolls he gets are also the best he’s had anywhere. Service is always good and they are very friendly. I don’t write many reviews, but after stumbling upon some of these ok to negative reviews, I felt compelled to jump on here so others aren’t dissuaded from visiting. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. But be careful because you might get hooked like us!

Harusame has good quality sushi for a decent price. The crazy hamachi roll is one of their best. The salmon sashimi is so buttery, it’s practically a dessert. There is a pretty good beer selection as well. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant. This place does get crowded on the weekends, I would suggest having an early dinner or making a reservation.

A girlfriend and I came here for sushi. We had miso soup, beef satay, and 2 rolls each. The miso soup comes out immediately upon ordering, which was since we were soaked from a crazy rain storm. The interior is well put together, but nothing to write home about in terms of design and elegance. We shared the beef satay. I thought the meat was well cooked, however; it was really oily for some reason. The peanut type cause it was served with complemented the meat very nicely. We had the Orange, dragon roll, scorpion roll, and the crazy roll. They all came with 6 – 8 pieces. I thought all of them were a great size with plenty of toppings and sauces on top and inside. They had presented neatly on the plate. They were served within 15 minutes of ordering, which was a nice addition as well. For a Friday night, the wait staff was attentive but didn’t rush us out. We were able to sit and talk for a long time. They aren’t short changing you at all! The prices are very reasonable for the quantity and quality of food that you receive. I think this location is idea because you get pretty decent sushi without having to make the hike to the city. However, they don’t have a parking lot, but there is plenty of street parking in the back behind the location.

If you’re looking for some traditional Japanese food, don’t come here. To be frank, this place kind of sucks. The rolls are expensive, small, and not very tasty. I’ve been to tons of better places and I’m truly surprised this place is four stars.

Very nice little spot. Quality sushi and sashimi. Service was good with our drinks and food and we did not feel rushed. But was a little slow getting our check. Price was fair. We ordered the sashimi regular and sushi regular and that was plenty of good for two people. It also came with miso soup. Overall I like this place very much and would definitely return. Relaxing atmosphere and didn’t feel rushed out soon after we were done eating.

This place is amazing! Just left after having an excellent sushi lunch. My girlfriend didn’t want to go because of a review she saw posted a few days ago. I told her«can’t judge a place over one review from a guy that was probably miserable shopping on Black Friday and came to write a review because he’s just miserable. She laughed and off we went, from the ambiance, dishes, and presentation. Perfect! The salmon, yellowtail and Tuna rolls were excellent. My gf had a bento box #2 which was very good. So… Here’s my review, ignore the bad reviews from places and test yourself. Definitely my new lunch spot for work days!

I’m pissed and disgusted! I’ve been using sushi from this place for couple of years now It’s been always good and decent Today(Black Friday) I ordered $ 60 worth of sushi and got a gross mess of rice and fish with some disgusting sauce poured over it ! I wish the pictures were clearer I lost my appetite should I say that went to pick it up as told in 25 minutes and had to wait another 30 minutes to get this!!! Very disappointing. Will think twice before ordering from them again. This food should never leave the kitchen!

Lots of yumm, followed by some more yumm, with a side of yumm! Yeah, I like it! First off, it was one of the most pleasant experiences I have ever had. My server was so polite and checked on me the perfect amount of times. Not too little and not too much. Appetizer was the Satay beef skewer. Cooked perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning. It had me wanting more as I sipped on some Saki while waiting for my sushi to arrive. I had the Firecracker Roll. Scallop Tempura, avocado inside topped with spicy lump crab meat, fried potato and finished with red tobiko and wasabi tobiko. The flavoring was so perfect that I didn’t want to dip it into the soy sauce! I mean it was seriously bursting with flavor! I finished the meal off with the Steak Teriyaki. Moist and tender pieces of steak with veggies and the sauce. Loved it! Try this place. Your tastebuds will thank you.

I was here twice in one week after never having stepped foot in Harusame before. The first time the service was horrendous. The second time, it was flawless. Still giving this place five stars. The fish is fresh, the rolls inventive, and they even have gluten-free soy sauce. From the outside, it looks like a little shack, but inside Harusame is a bustling sushi joint with lots of regulars from the lower mainline area. Full bar. You may want to make a reservation.

Sushi Novice to Sushi Snob! It’s officially happened, I’m now a sushi snob. I have standards now and I didn’t even know it. I’ve been spoiled by all the top notch sushi destinations in Denver. Harusame is a good sushi place for being in the suburbs. Offers a good variety of specialty rolls, sashimi, basic rolls and teriyaki items for the people that can’t handle the raw fish. My Mom raves about this place, how beautiful the sushi is and how delicious the plum wine is. While visiting home she wanted to come here together and enjoy a sushi boat. I’ve never even scene one of these before, but I was intrigued. You have two options with the«boat», the Lover Boat for 2 or the Titanic Cruiser for 4. There were three of us dining and we decided on the Lover Boat for 2 with an added order of edamame. The Lover Boat also comes with two bowls of miso soup. Everything we received was solid. The Boat was average. By ordering the boat you relinquish your right to choose. You receive very basic sushi, sashimi, and rolls, nothing special or unique here. The freshness of the fish was just average, but the prices were on par with higher end sushi restaurants. The boat is worth it from a price perspective if you were going to order what’s on the boat separately. If you’re looking for the fun stuff you’ll still have to order items separately. We also tried the Crème Brulee and Tempura fried ginger ice cream for dessert. Crème Brulee is not authentic, not that we expected it to be. It was still creamy and tasted of vanilla and fresh berries. The Tempura ice cream was fun and a highlight for the end of the evening. I was disappointed with the service received this evening. Friendly, but drinks took anywhere between 15 – 20 minutes and once we were ready to order we had to flag down our waitress. Not worth the wait in my opinion. For the neighborhood this is probably the best choice for sushi. As for me, I’ll satisfy my sushi cravings in Denver.
