The best experience I have ever had with making an outdoor activity purchase. Outstanding client service — the manager was chock full of tips and product information. He made sure that I understood all aspects of the gear that I purchased and what the best value was. Talked me through how to prepare the gear and what to expect in terms of comfort etc. I ended going back and purchasing a ski rack for the ski rentals and new skis the following day. Price was better than I expected too — complete bonus. You cannot go wrong w the Ardmore location team!

Outstanding customer service, great products, and discount lift tickets. Really cannot go wrong here. The manager Paul is the best!

DON’T BUYONLINE(or at least don’t be deceived with their«promise»). Read the fine prints(who nowadays read fineprints anyway?). I ordered a mitten online last Sunday and shipping address is NY city. Looking at their website, it says«All of our orders are shipped from eastern Pennsylvania.», Take note«ALL». Their transit map says 1 day for items to arrive in NYC. Good point for them: Kudos to them as they were able to process my item within a day. Clap clap clap! BAD point: One star(very disappointing) as it turned out the item will be shipped from NV(yes, not from PA). I didn’t know that it will be shipped from NV until I’m done paying and they have shipped out my item. SO I HIGHLYSUGGEST to this shop owner to remove their ‘marketing gimick’ and just tell the consumer the realistic case VERSUS posting on their website the BESTCASE scenario. To potential buyers, before you buy online call their store to check where the goods will be coming from. Then expect the worst transit time so you don’t expect great service from this business.

Staff was great. Tyler and Drew were very knowledgeable. Great selection for both gear and clothing. I am a skier so I am from the ski perspective, but I am sure it was as good with the snowboards. Typically I know what I want and can’t find it cheaper online. But I also like supporting local businesses, especially when they have a comparable price, selection, and great service. Highly recommend.

I live in Philly and heard this was the spot to go. Boy was that a good decision. It’s located out in the main line but there is a parking lot across the street for easy access. I went specifically for ski boots(my first pair after a few rentals) and Jared took care of me. He only works Thursdays so be sure to plan for that. I ended up getting a pair that night and they were patient in letting me try multiple pairs on. They sized me and found the perfect fit. The coolest part was the boot oven that actually heats the foam in the boots to mold to your feet in a permanent fashion. It changed the feel of the boots and they are the most comfortable pair I could have hoped for. I just dropped my equipment off there for a tune up and adjustment and will be going back here for years to come. A lot of families and individuals also came in for rentals and they seemed to have positive experiences as well.

Excellent service and experience! We went to rent skis last minute for a trip upstate and the staff was fantastic and helpful, and prices are reasonable. They are very accommodating and flexible with the rental schedule. I’m always a fan of supporting local business and this is one that has my business for life across the board.

What a great shop! If you’re looking for mid to high end gear this is your place! They carry all the quality brands and a knolwedgeable staff to help sort through it all. Beyond that their customer service is seriously second to none… they really want to make the customer happy, this to me is worth the $ spent here!

These guys know their stuff, period. After wearing my SureFoot custom made boots for nearly a decade, I stopped by the Ardmore store hoping to find better and more adaptable technology. Ryan, the master boot fitter, was a godsend. I had done extensive research on the newer type of advanced ski boots and he was both, respectful of my choices, and pointed me on the best way to maximize my expenditure to get a customized boot. I brought my orthotics and he put me on a new pair of Technicas that fit like a glove. I’ve never been more pleased in a first visit to as store. The rest of the place is full of ski and snow boarding items. Boots, luggage and the like are upstairs, but there is an incredible array of clothing downstairs. The staff is totally devoted to the customers and it shows. Having moved to the Philly area, it is nice to have found a ski store that caters so much to its customers.

Great customer service, without being pushy or annoying. Which is hard to do! The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful with our rather large purchases. They were patient and went through all the details of my boots and skis. I was really impressed with their service. They also refunded us 20% for a bunch of snow apparel we bought because everything was on sale when we returned a week later. These people know how to satisfy a customer and that is rare nowadays in retail. More stores should follow their lead. Thank you Buckmans staff!

As the only game in town for skis, obviously they are as good as it gets, but I had a great customer service experience there and wanted to shout out for that. The place was PACKED on a snowy Saturday in January. I mean, a mob scene. I had to wait a bit to get rentals, but when they saw I was waiting, they got someone there fast and they were awesome. They didn’t have my son’s size, and as he was having a mini-meltdown, they totally saved the day – the manager(or owner??) had his size in his car it turned out, the sales guy ran out to get it, got everything together and brought it out to my car. I was running really late and the whole thing had taken a long time, and they were incredibly apologetic and let me settle the bill when I returned everything on Monday(another nice advantage is that, since they’re closed on Sundays, a 24-hour rental is from Saturday to Monday). It’s pretty rare to find customer service that nice these days, and I was really impressed. As the previous person said, the prices are HIGH and the other customers are ridiculously snooty and obnoxious, but the sales people were all so nice and knowledgeable(also gave us great advice about different mountains in the area) that it was worth braving the idiots to get the good service. It’s definitely cheaper to rent up by the mountain(not AT the mountain, but at a local store), but the convenience of renting close to home can’t be beat. We’ll definitely always go there from now on.

The staff working the shop is always cool, kind and helpful. Prices are decent because they have a huge web presence. Selection is good for something hours from the nearest decent mtn. Best in Philly area, fur sure!

For ski/snowboard equipment and full service it’s the only game in town(if one expands the definition of «in town» to include the burbs), but thankfully one that has its act together. Extremely knowledgeable and extremely friendly(maybe a tad *too* friendly?), every Buckman’s location offers everything a skier/rider could want. And be sure to check with them first for special deals on lift tickets to all PA destinations. The downsides? First, they are pricey as hell, but if you hit them in October or March you can take advantage of lots of super deals… the October clearance tent sale at their King of Prussia location is especially awesome. Second(and to be fair this is a criticism of the skiing world in general), going to Buckman’s, especially their Ardmore location in my experience, means having to suffer a clientele that is beyond-beyond when it comes to over-privileged and snooty attitude. C’est le ski!
