Seriously, the worst run food establishment I’ve ever experienced in L.A. The service was bad(virtually non-existent), the food was bad, the music was nothing special. The bar ran out of clean glassware half way thru the event, so they had to stop serving drinks. The buffet was half empty at best throughout the event. Ran out of plates. Constantly out of food. There was not enough seating. We had to stand & eat what we could fig on the dinky little side plates they gave us after waiting in a very long line. There was not enough busboys. Every side table throughout the lounge had a filthy heap of dirty plates and glasses and wadded up soiled napkins. We laughed out loud with other guests about how badly the event was executed. There was nowhere safe to set down your drink. Oh, and don’t get me started on the drinks. Waited for literally 40 minutes at the bar, while watching three bartenders fumble around back there with seemingly no ability whatsoever to track who was next. Countless later arriving parties were served before me. The first round of drinks we got tasted pretty good(thank god or the whole day would’ve been a loss), but the second round of juleps were so off-balance they were not even potable. I feel like we were duped. We paid $ 170 for two ppl to attend the chef series season opener, but I would have traded down from what we got to the $ 5 general admission and the carved meat sandwiches & beer in a heartbeat! DONOT pay extra for the chandelier room. It’s a cold blooded scam.

Bad idea to close the Turf Club. The new Chandelier Room concept was meant to attract millennials, who as a group, are neither horse owners or big bettors. The remodled room looks like a boring hotel lobby. As a result, Santa Anita has smaller field sizes and a lower on-track handle because of disgruntled former horse owners who were once Turf Club members, with me being one of them. While horse racing is a declining sport, the management at Santa Anita appears to be accelerating its demise.

As a Turf Club regular for many years I had heard some questionable things but really tried to have an open mind going in. The old place needed a remodel for sure and some new blood. It has turned into something unrecognizable and the crowd was icky at best. If you’re all about being up in the club you’re gonna just love it. Me, I’ll take a pass. Too bad, that room was beyond legendary.

Hate the remodel. The place looks like a hotel lobby — complete with almost no tables and people hoarding the few couches made for large groups but taken up by one or two. This leaves many constantly searching for a place to sit. Came here during the breeders cup where only appetizers were offered. Couldn’t hear anything inbetween races because someone talking on the loud speaker and piano playing simultaneously. There are several preferable ways to enjoy a race day at Santa Anita. Save your money and avoid this place

I threw my BFF a bachlorette brunch at the Chandelier Room. The venue is absolutely stunning. LA Chic at it’s finest. The champagne and the hors d’oeuvres seem to never end. The staff made our experience what it was. Yan and Cesar corresponded with me weeks before the big day, accomodating all my request and they followed through on every promise! Allison, Kate, and our server Carmen(could of been Camilla I had alot of champagne) were also great. Our outdoor lounge seating had the most amazing view. Our betting coach Mario and his wife really added to the experience! We all got into the action and altough we were only placing $ 2 bets it was so fun! The music was superb. Super sexy music and swing dancers. The band and the dancers gave a great energy to the room and we all danced like we were also professional swing dancers(we were drunk)! There was so much to do at the Chandelier Room. Our debauchery and Bachlorette Scaveneger Hunt was embraced by all and we all had an amazing time. The bride is still talking about it. Can’t wait to go back. Thank You for making Jessica’s Bachlorette Party Amazing!
