The large cookies are decent but kind of expensive. I got the chocolate chip and it was kind of harder than soft. I never had anything else form this place.

Oh my god I am eating one of Planet Cookies’ horrid disc shaped hardened dough lumps that they call cookies as we speak. It is SO bad, that it compelled me to drop it immediately and write this review. THEYDON’T USEBUTTER. NOBUTTER. ONLYMARGARINE. I picked these up at the South Pasadena Farmer’s market thinking they’d be delicious, because the man said so. Trust not a man who peddles me cookies saying«they’re reeeeallly soft». Lesson learned. I basically got one of every flavor and you can really tell the difference between using butter and margarine, all of their cookies lack that delicious baked luster– like the smell of fresh baking cookies when you walk into a kitchen embodied in the cookie. It’s not there. They’re sweet, and doughy, and yeah he was right, they are soft. But they are NOGOOD!

Went to the weekly street fair Monrovia hosts on Myrtle Ave and purchased a black and white cookie and a pumpkin bread from Planet Cookies stand. Im an amateur baker myself, but if theres one thing I know for sure its how pumpkin cakes/breads/pies/etc should taste. It wasnt awful but it wasnt the greatest. It had too much flour in it. It didnt even taste like pumpkin or cinnamon. Just a bread with a little bit of nutmeg and a lot of flour. The black and white cookie wasnt to die for either. The chocolate part of the cookie was bitter, as if it was made with too much cocoa powder and not enough sugar, or a lot of bakers non-sweet chocolate. The white side of the cookie, the sugar part had a thick taste to it. It wasnt satisfying. I for one will not be buying from Planet Cookie. Not trying to be mean but you guys should really reevaluate your recipes.

This is one of my favorite Sandwich places. The name of this place is very confusing. It’s called«Planet Cookies», they sell baked goods and lots of cookie baking supplies. It’s also«Vera’s Cakes», I guess Vera is an amazing cake baker. They make custom cakes. AND it says bakery café on the door and the walls. My favorite sandwich is ham and cheese on Ciabatta bread. Absolutely fresh and amazing! The sandwich comes with a small salad with homemade dressing and chips(I believe they’re homemade too). Some of the best chips I ever had. This bakery is at the end of Myrtle Ave., almost the end of Monrovia old town. It’s across from the newly renovated library. It’s understated but definitely a neighborhood gem!

The best tuna sandwich, chicken salads, sugar cookies, coconut macroons, tomato soup, and a lot of other things. Everything is homemade and you can taste the freshness in the food. Nothing processed and all natural. Love it! I am there at least once a week if not more. I can see the sugar cookies and macroons growing in my belly! :)

I do like their cookies and deserts. When they first opened the sandwiches were very good then they changed their menu and I did not think they were as good anymore. I returned twice with no improvement and have yet to go back. I would like to try them again because they are near my house and the place is really cute with good treats!

Very yummy cookies!!! We don’t get into the store, but we do manage to grab a few of their cookies almost every week at the Farmer’s Market.

*note* They have moved down the street to: 342 South Myrtle Avenue The short and I don’t have time version: Out of 10pts, Food — 9.5pts Service — 10pts Décor /Ambiance– 7.5pts Average — 5stars(barely made it…90%) The detailed /cigar conversation version: SERVICE: Carrie is the girl behind the cash register/server/bus boy/everything else. This is a small bakery that has light lunches like sandwiches and salads. Its family owned and most of the staff is part of the family… and best of all… they make you feel like you’re part of their family. Aside from her great attitude and service… she’s also pleasantly cute with freckles that shows perfect imperfection. FOOD: I’m such a sucker for cookies. Seriously! I eat cookies before my meal and after my meal. Drinks: Double espresso + it had the crma, served in a ceramic cup instead of that commercial paper cup sh!#$% that just absorbs the crema and cools it down. — the body was not as full and rich as others Chocolate chip + Peanut Butter cookie + Moist… very moist and soft. Large chunks of chocolate chips while the flavor of peanut butter is within every bite. These are Large cookies. As big as my hands… and believe me… I have really chubby hands. — Its addicting!!! Oatmeal Cranberry cookie + Again very moist and soft. They somehow manage to keep the cranberry moist and juicy. Usually it gets dried up pretty bad. — Again… very very addicting! Smoked turkey sandwich(grilled) w/provolone cheese on wheat bread. + Coming from the E. Coast, warm(grilled…not microwaved) sandwiches are the norm. Its so freakin hard to get one in Cali. I also love the way that they put razor blade thin slices of red onions and fresh tomatoes in my sandwich… with a small request for strips of lettuce. It comes with kettle chips and tossed greens. DCOR /AMBIANCE: This place is not only clean… its spotless! They have seating on the inside and enough for 4 tables out at the patio. The environment is very relaxing and chill… nothing fancy… but nothing trailer/cheap looking either. I like lounging outside with my espresso and a Robb Report /New Republic mag. Its too bad I can’t toss a few bits of tar into my lungs here…(no smoking zone… especially cigar smoke). =( Bottom line… it’s a great place for a quick bite, a sugar fix, or to just lounge and relax.
