Great conversation, a blast from the past! Food was delicious and filling! Would 100% eat here again!

Always go here with my girlfriend. Pretty chill place and the servers always keep it coming with the coffee.

This place is not bad. The food was good and the portion, but their menu section that says«budget» did not even seem like a bargain deal you would see at Denny’s. It’s a little pricey. Even though it had an old school diner feel, the service was slow. After your food comes, the waitress disappears til the bill comes. The food took a while to come out too, so make sure you have time to sit and wait. I am not sure if I would come back because the food is on the greasy side. I had the sausage patty, 2 eggs any way you like, hashbrowns, and it came with biscuits and gravy on a side plate, overkill. The biscuits and gravy was okay, no sausage inside just a lot of flour.

This is the best diner I have ever been to. Haven’t had anything bad. So many different pies and food options and great prices I would recommend everyone try this place!

Love the food and service of the waiters and waitresses. This is a nice neighborhood restaurant with delicious food. The only thing is the hostess. She is simply an old stubborn old lady who can only think one straight line. A little rude, and she seems like she hates her job. Yes. This is a popular restaurant and we don’t feel welcomed when we see her. Sigh. We love the food and have to put up with her attitude.

Its amazing that the people here are following rules with their fulles desires I mean they have flaws but when it comes to dedication to work and how to execute their task, they do know how to work under pressure. Very friendly, went here the other morning and it was good. I’m a little nervous that my morning would get so much worst because of the past incident. Good thing everything went good from entering their place to the time when I finish. Chefs coffee is really amazing.

I like the old fashion diner feeling in this place, although my friends call it the«old people» restaurant. Nonetheless, I would love to go there again.

This Restuarant should change the carpet, first walk in it smell. Good food, good services, but not clean, and fresh.

I love Mom and Pop diners — the nostalgia you get of being transported back into the 50s and 60s, especially when the diner hasn’t been remodeled in years, the furniture pieces are old and vintage, the waitresses are older and sassy, and the clienteles are usually seniors 65+(reading their papers while having coffee or catching up and reliving their memories of their olden days) — very cool! :) I Unilocaled Mom and Pop diners, and this place popped up. I rarely eat on this side of Arcadia, and decided to try it out. Decided to go for a good, olé fashion American Country Breakfast, which consists of hash browns, two scrambled eggs, a large sausage patty, and two biscuits poured over their yummy gravy sauce for $ 8.95. For $ 9, it was a large meal! By the time I got to eating the hash browns, I was almost full, but managed to finish it. The scrambled eggs were light and fluffy, and the large sausage patty was tender and fried nicely. The two biscuits were soft and easy to cut through with a fork. I only wish they poured a lil more of the yummy gravy cuz it soaked up the biscuits easily. This meal was also served with water(upon request, but my waiter gave me water since my throat was still a lil sick, lol!). I also got coffee $ 2.50 — tasted smooth and woke me up instantly, and they are very good with refilling your coffee or water. I also got a banana cream pie to go for $ 3.75. The pie filling itself was delicious! Fresh and creamy with tons of banana slices in there. This was a favorite among Unilocalers, and now I get why. Though the crust wasn’t that good — crumbled too easily, and so I just polished off the fillings, lol! Service: My server was awesome. He checked up on me from time to time, and refilling my coffee when it was running low. He also brought my pie to go, and left me the check before he went on break. Though there was an older middle age waitress there, who stared at me weirdly in the beginning(looked as if I was gonna rob the place, lol!). She was a nice lady, but it just weirded me out in the beginning *raised eyebrows* 0. o Plus, she kept getting nervous when I was taking pics of the place too, lol! Would I come back? Sure! This is a fun place to eat when you’re looking for nostalgia locally, or when you want to eat in peace or catchup with friends without all the noisy hustle and bustle, while trying to not break the bank.

It’s a popular mom-and-pop restaurant in the neighborhood. People are treated like family here. Everybody knows each other and that’s super cool. You are going to see people that has been customers in this restaurant for generations and generations. It’s an old diner but cool vibes. The food is decent and the prices very affordable. They have a special menu everyday. Most of their specials comes with a salad or soup, main entrée, drink, and dessert. All included in one price. They also provide great customer service. Thursday special is my favorite one :) steak, grilled chicken, corn, baked or matched potatoes or french fries. The tortilla soup is GOOD as well as the banana pie… so freshly made!!!

The food was okay. And they got me the cod fish in 2 separate pieces. Half now half later., what the heck is that? Service was slow but with a smile. Overall not the best experience. Waiting time was also a little long…

I’ve been here a few times; this is one of your old school, no frills greasy spoon type diner. I usually come when I want a quiet, solitary breakfast early in the morning. I usually sit at the bar, where I can enjoy a cup of coffee and people watch. Service isn’t the greatest, which is disappointing for a place that has that mom and pop kind of feel. The waitresses take a long time with bringing things and they are just a little less warm than I’d like. That being said, the food is pretty good. I usually get the Belgian waffle and it is HUGE. I can only finish half of it, which is a shame because the fabulous crisp exterior quickly becomes soft if you take it home. Overall, three stars because the food is pretty pricey for breakfast food(the waffle by itself is $ 8.25) and for the so-so service. However, I do like the convenient location and I will still be patronizing this place.

I work close by to Chef’s and love eating here. Most of the staff is super friendly and always cheerful. The ladies are always polite and ask me how I’m doing. Great vibe from them. They always have my to-go order ready and it’s easy to quickly call in and then come in to grab it. That being said, I’m not a super big fan of their dine in service sometimes. It’s just one employee that gives me a hard time, but everyone else is nice. I like to eat alone, so they usually let me sit in a two person table. Every time I have had this waiter, he’s always off doing sometime else! My most recent meal was less than stellar. I ordered a steak combo and didn’t realize I didn’t get my steak until 45 minutes after. This was fine(not really), because I wasn’t super hungry and was reading on my phone, but come on. 45 minutes? He would throw my salad and soup on the table and I felt like he doesn’t really want to do anything while he’s on the clock. He would disappear and nor did he give me a refill. The waitresses did that for me. I don’t like eating when he’s around, so I tend to avoid the days I know he’s working. Besides that, Chef’s would have earned 5 stars from me.

I ate dinner at Chef’s Coffe Shop in Arcadia, CA on 10/12/2015. I’ve been there many times before. This time I had their battered cod dinner($ 9.95) which included soup(creamy chicken) and desert. Good food, good service, good prices — what more could you ask for. Plus, I took photos.

Came here for lunch with my wife because she loves little diners. We hail from the midwest and this was the first time in LA that I felt like I was at a diner back home. The clientele and staff were older but down to earth and very friendly. Tons of options for breakfast. I had eggs, hash browns, bacon and sausage and biscuits. My food was all good except the gravy. I’m used to more meaty and flavorful gravy. My wife got the Hungarian Goulash special and it was really god. Would have been nice with authentic Hungarian noodles, but egg noodles were ok. The salad was just lettuce and dressing. The nest thing was the homemade cheesecake. It was incredible and came free with my wife’s special. What endears this place to me is the great staff and the incredible prices.

A hole in the wall type place but good amount of food that’s worth your buck. Kind of feels like a hillbilly’s home. Breakfast is served all day. The bf and I always order the same thing, the Sunrise Special. It is not on the menu. Their specials are written on the board once you come in by the cash register. For the Sunrise Special you get your choice of pancakes or french toast with eggs, bacon, sausage, and your choice of juice or coffee for ~$ 7. There are free refills on coffee. I often see seniors that come eat here and sometimes one would eat all by themselves and I always feel a little sad when I see a person eating alone. Anyways, great old American diner other than the typical Denny’s run.

Chef’s is a fine American Diner. I’m a huge fan of breakfast and comfort food so this place is one of my favorites. Chef’s has a good amount of parking space and charming service. Inside you’ll find a clean environment that has a great vintage vibe. They serve food all day here but the best place to visit is definitely in the morning. Im not really a coffee aficionado but, hot damn, the coffee here is divine. They have all the staples here from lumberjack slams and breakfast burritos. My absolute favorite are there waffles. Waffles with a side of eggs, bacon, and coffee? Oh doctor! You’re in for an excellent treat! The fact that Chef’s finest hours are during breakfast is also its biggest drawback. They shut down the waffle machine after lunch and occasionally they run out of things like biscuits. But those are small cons for an excellent diner! Also… THEPIES! Yum!

Are you here to eat? No we’re here to change tires… Now what kinda question was that? Of course we’re here to eat… Then they sat us way in the back… Well…I shouldn’t say waaaay in the back, cause this place is tiny. And of course no one came to see if we wanted wittle drinkeees. Helloooo…nope went the other direction. So we went up front and sat where they could see us better. She says, «Are you here to eat? So I asked, «Do you sell human food here? She looked kinda mad as she gave the menus to us… We ordered the breakfast, but it came out terrible Greasy…ooooh just sooo sooo greasy… And my ol’ biker friend who had a cast iron stomach loved this place.

Sweat pants, no make up, morning hair, don’t care. Don’t know what to wear? How about that free T-shirt you got from last year’s company summer party? Chef’s coffee shop is place where you can come in dress comfortably, eat comfortably at a comfortable budget. The store is extremely old school. Old games, old press, old pictures everywhere you turn. You will see most of their customers are regulars. To them, fancy set up don’t matter. Food comes in big portions and tastes better than Denny’s. Of course, they don’t come in fancy set up, might not look very appetizing like«food-porn», but they are GOOD. I highly recommend this place for having breakfast with people you are most comfortable with :)
