Absolutely delicious they’re closing on the 30th of November so I highly recommend trying to get there before they close because their food is good!

Very fast, delicious, convenient and the owner is very sweet! I love this place because it’s close to Cabrillo and i never wait more than 5 minutes for a roll, even when it’s the busiest time of the day. The fish is delicious and not fishy. I love the sake roll and ebi. Craving sushi on the run now!

Paid $ 13.80 for Shirashi Don and a bottle of water. The 2 pieces of Yellowtail and 2 pieces of Tuna were pretty good, as was the one piece of shrimp. I saved the single piece of Salmon for last since Salmon was my favorite. I was shocked that is was salted cured Salmon, not fresh at all! It was very salty and very disappointing. Fortunately the rice was good for chasing away the saltiness. The box also came with some vegetables, mostly pickled in salty brine. The mushrooms and pickled daikon were OK, as was the two fresh flowerettes of broccoli. But the carrots were too salty for me.(I do like salty food, just not these.) On one corner of the box is what looks to me like tamago(Japanese scrambled egg.) This was sweet, almost like flan. Oh well, I pretended it was dessert, maybe it was there to counteract the salt. This was my first visit to Sushi on the Run. It is a small place, but conveniently located along Soquel Drive. Just 4 small tables, making it really just a place to pickup some Sushi to go. I heard a lot of takeout orders for Spicy Tuna roll, and since the tuna and the rice in my shirashi was pretty good, I guess their Spicy Tuna must be good. But this review is about my meal not theirs… I can’t really give more than 2 stars for what I got for what I paid. I do not see myself returning to Sushi on the Run.

What a gem in the heart of Aptos. Great miso, very friendly workers, and fast fresh yummy sushi. I’ve lived in Aptos many years and only recently tried this place. It’s very small and nondescript, so easy to miss.

Really enjoy Sushi On the Run! Always friendly — very consistent and extremely convenient. Love that they offer vegan options.

Love this place! Just be sure to order before 7 pm. Pretty standard for Aptos. Tasty sushi, fresh fish, affordable prices. I like to call in my order 15 minutes before pickup, on my way home from work. Be sure to specify tobiko over masago. If you know the difference, they are happy to honor your request.

We live nearby and love this place to pickup a quick and affordable sushi dinner. The selections are limited as far as rolls, but they do incorporate all my favorite ingredients such as unagi, tuna, and smoked salmon so you can try a few different rolls with your meal. Their spicy tuna rolls are to die for… has a slight macadamia nut flavor, but whatever they are doing keep it up over there! The people are so nice and friendly too, it’s a great no-fuss place to grab dinner. My only complaint is that they close right around most people’s typical dinner time(7pm) so you have to get an order in right around 6:30 or so. Glad they are able to run a business and spend some time with their families themselves, but wish they stayed open an extra hour sometimes(like when the sushi cravings strike at 7:01).

This is a nice little husband and wife(?) business. If you’re in a hurry and want some quick sushi, this is the place to go! It’s very small, so you’re better off taking it to go then to sit there and eat it. Their menu is very limited but their rolls are pretty size wise but you only get about 4 – 6 pieces in them. I’ve tried their chirashi donburi, their tempura roll and one other one. Overall, pretty decent. The woman upfront is real nice and friendly and then sushi chef makes the rolls pretty quick. They have some fresh pre-made rolls at the cashier for people who are in a hurry and constantly replace them as they are purchased. Most likely would come back

I was dissapointed with this establishment. It was nothing I had hoped it to be. 1st it was difficult understanding the woman at the register who also served as the make shift waitress as her english is not the best so getting a discription of any items ingredients is less then… well lets just say it lacks. Then I was confussed when I learned she had no idea what miso sauce was??? To top it off I ended up getting a roll I didnt order and didnt like. But the price was in line for what I got. Thats the best thing I can say about this place. Sorry

The fish and fresh and the prices are very reasonable for the portion. I always come here after a great time in Capitola. The owners are wonderful and extremely kind. Must stop. Must eat. Must experienced.

Awesome sushi! Great staff and sweet location. The only thing that makes me hesitate coming here is the stout guy who works in the back(and still visible) kitchen. He makes a point to openly and licentiously leer whenever I go here. Not appetizing.

So this place has hands down the best sushi I have ever had. Period. The quality of the food is amazing and so completely affordable. That being said, it is not your typical sushi joint. Tiny, almost run down looking place that used to be Jorie’s way back in the day. This is not somewhere you go for a nice evening out, but rather someplace fast to get good sushi and takeout. If you have a craving for sushi try it out and prepare to be impressed! My very faves are the spicy tuna rolls, the maguro donburi(which is enormous BTW), and the miso.

This is a small place that you will just drive by if you are not looking for it. The restaurant has 4 small tables inside, and it is mainly there for take-out. We ordered 8 maki rolls for our family of four and every roll was excellent. Fish, rice, veggie are all very fresh. Excellent.

Well, it’s probably closer to 3.5 stars, but I give 4 because of the freshness of the food, decent taste and fast, cheerful service. We ordered sushi rolls and oyako donburi(rice bowl with chicken cooked with egg and vegetables on top). It’s not your fancy sushi shop for sure, but unlike some fancy sushi shops they do make your sushi nigiri and rolls on the spot, instead of giving you pre-made, cold rolls with semi-hardened and packed rice. I would like a bit more sushi vinegar in the rice, but I was very happy that ingredients tasted fresh, rice tasted fresh. Oyako donburi tasted decent enough. I prefer less sugar in the sauce, but again, just like sushi, it was freshly prepared, piping hot. That alone made the dish taste much better. I’ll go back again and try their chirashi sushi next time.

We almost left due to the hole in the wall exterior and interior but the sushi was really good and the price too. It would not hurt them to throw a coat of paint on the walls. Business would probably greatly improve.

Little hole in the wall run by a Japanese couple. Super friendly and lightening fast. No complaints about the food. Had a miso soup, edamame, a chirashi bowl and two pieces of hamachi nigiri. To get five stars there would have to be more fish on my bowl. My chirashi had one slice of salmon, one shrimp, two slices of tuna and albacore. Fish was fresh though and the rice perfect. It is more of a takeout than eat-in place for sure. Spent about $ 20 for lunch. If there was an option I would give 4 ½ stars.

My friend recommended this restaurant to me because I m longing for finding an authentic Japanese restaurant that is actually opened by Japanese people. I went there today for lunch and OMG, the sushi there is SOOOOOOGOOD!!! The sushi rice is especially AWESOME. I ordered a vegetarian sushi roll with pillow pocket and I also ordered Chirashi bowl for my dinner. The roll is fabulous, especially the seaweed with the warm soft and sticky sushi rice. The Chirashi bowl’s fish is really fresh and the rice bed is fabulous. The lady in the restaurant is super nice! Next time, when my Japanese friend comes to visit, for sure I will take him to this restaurant! Best restaurant I have ever encountered!

Maybe I hit them in a bad day, but the two rolls I got tasted like canned tuna. I have never had«cooked» sushi.

I had just returned from Tokyo where I had sushi at the Tokyo Fish Market. Without a doubt highest quality sushi I have ever had. Yesterday I went to Sushi on the Run and was surprised to find it of equal quality. Yes, of equal quality. I had Uni, Hamachi and Unagi. They did not have Amaebi that day and only have Uni when it is super fresh. They post a sign in the refer if they have it. I am sorry to have judged this place on its looks alone, having driven by nearly everyday for 4 years without stopping. There is limited seating. But just the same a stop at Deluxe Market on the way there(or back) will get me good beer or sake and I will be a regular customer forever.

I hate writing poor reviews especially when the staff are nice but this was the worst sushi we’ve ever had over numerous years. It’s cheap about $ 6.50/fairly small roll but the June(?) tuna roll the lady recommended was inedible. It had apparently warm canned puréed tuna combined with perhaps a few flecks of green(onion?) and warm rice. I’ve never had anything like it and we didn’t like it at all. The other roll was just ok. The sushi at the local Safeway was much tastier and I’m not a fan of grocery store sushi. I’m not usually picky but this was terrible. No atmosphere, tiny takeout spot. I don’t understand all the great reviews, maybe it’s the cheap prices or we got the worst items on their menu. Glad someone’s enjoying it as they were nice though I can’t understand why she would recommend this tuna fish roll or why they’d even make it.
