Oh man this place is great !!! The service is on the top! I go there with my friends on our bikes because it’s such a good location for ice cream… right next to the beach! Awesome! A double=$ 5.00? Sounds like a lot right?? But they make sure they fill the entire cup! Some places just give you 2 small scoops and there not that big for a double so this place is great. I recommend the 1020. I heard it’s very good! Awesome place!

New location in Aptos that looks just like the original in Santa Cruz. Best ice cream along the coast!!! Quick and fast service even though the place is crazy busy! Grab a number as soon as you get there and then read the ice cream board with all of the featured flavors. Once your number is called don’t be afraid to ask for some samples. I was all set for Rocky Road, but after sampling the German chocolate I had to get a big scoop of that!!!

Oh this place is great! Little independent ice cream place close to the beach? Lifesaver when you have 2 small kids. I like the cardamom pistachio. I don’t love that some of their flavors are neon colored as my child has a food coloring sensitivity but I let it slide because it’s such a fun, cute place. It’s worth dealing with a spazy kid for a few hours. Is that bad? Does that make me a bad mom?

Love Marianne’s! Great atmosphere and ice cream. Nothing to complain about.

Best Ice Cream Shop Ever!
Are you kidding me with the flavors and variety? It’s like I was in my dessert fantasy and I didn’t ever want to wake up.
Just check out the board, every flavor under the sun– free samples– nice staff– good prices? It’s the perfect ice cream shop and the tasty treats did not disappoint. Loved it and wish I lived anywhere close so I could enjoy again!

This place was awesome! So many choices of ice cream and they were all delicious! The kids asked to go back the next day and were disappointed to hear we couldn’t!

Some of the best ice cream I have ever had. I’m not a huge ice cream fan, but I know good ice cream and they have it here. Tons of flavors to choose from but you can sample a few. Loved cantaloupe and would go back again and again for this flavor. Sampled Peaches and lemon custard, and on my they were sooo good. I need up ordering Lavender and cantaloupe 2 of the best flavored ice cream ever. Cantaloupe tasted like a ripe and juicy fresh picked cantaloupe, so good. A must try if your at Rio Del Mar beach.

Normally we go to Marianne’s on Ocean St, but we wanted to drive by Sea-​cliff Beach to see if the pier was open to take a look at the cement ship so we decided to give this location a try.
First off the young lady who helped us was more than helpful and super pleasant. She let us try a couple different flavors, and smiled through our lengthy indecisiveness.
This location looks a lot newer and larger. It also has a café area, and more seating towards the back. The only thing I wish it had is the dancing cow wallpaper like the Ocean St. location has. Both places are located near the freeway, so it just depends what area you’re in.
Will be coming back because of the pleasant customer service.

Visiting from AZ. Came recommended. Didn’t disappoint. Scoops are huge. The bittersweet chocolate flavor was good. I was disappointed they didn’t have butterscotch swirl even though listed on the flavor menu. One employee said he couldn’t remember the last time they had that flavor. He said they didn’t make frozen yogurt either even though it’s in the name. CASH ONLY!

Been a fan since 1974 and always loved the creaminess of the ice cream at Marianne’s. Mocha Almond Fudge an all time favorite. I am now totally hooked on the Nutty bars… Help me… they are delicious and perfect to chomp on. the chocolate stays put and so do the almond chunks while biting down… Try that on any other bar you always get the chocolate on the shirt… The Aptos store is way to close to home but oh well…

Love this place…
The staff are fun and friendly and the ice cream selection is grand to say the least… We’ll make this one of our stops each time we visit the South Bay region. A must try!

Best ice cream around. Open late, unlike every other place in Santa Cruz. My favorite flavors are Mexican chocolate, green tea, and northern Oregon blackberry. Good place for a date or with friends. I’m addicted to this ice cream now, so glad one in Aptos opened up now!

Today I achieved the biggest accomplishment of my life: Sampling all 80 magnificent flavors from the wonderful Marianne’s ice-​creamery!
Last night I went to Marianne’s for a scoop and happened to sample a few flavors before ordering. Sarah was working and mentioned that on a slow day, I could try and sample all 80 flavors for 10 $ but that she had never seen anyone actually finish it. I had already ordered but promised that I would come back today and try my luck.
I am a man of my word…
Today, I returned with an empty stomach and a heart filled with courage. Sarah saw me walk in and knew that the game was on. My girlfriend joined me in my conquest and we made our way through all 5 freezers in just over 30 minutes.
My pallet was in a state of constant bliss while bombarded with every flavor it had ever encountered from banana to bourbon and everything in between. Sarah kept the cold goodness coming and seemed to know facts about every single flavor and what it would pair with. We even learned a bit about the history of the company (yay learning!)
I didn’t manage to fill out a tasting sheet but depending on my mood my favorites would include:
–1020 for sweet/​creamy with cookies in it
–Strawberry sorbet for real strawberries all up in there
–mint chip Oreo (might have had a fancier name but that’s what was in it and it would make a perfect shake)
I was not a fan of the lavender or the custard but ⁷⁸⁄₈₀ ain’t bad!
I recommend this place very strongly and will definitely be back… But I think I’ve had enough ice cream for a while now

So stoked that they opened up a Marianne’s on the south side of town. I have to say my favorite is the signature 1020 (their street number at the Ocean St location.) It’s vanilla with caramel and fudge swirls with chucks of oreo. My husband’s fav is Horchata. But, I would have to say I haven’t had a flavor that wasn’t decadent and insanely delicious. You will be happy with any option you choose here-​enjoy!

I live very close, so I am a regular at Marianne’s…mmmm…ice cream… ummy!!!
I have gotten coffee, ice cream, pre packed ice cream, milk shakes, choc dipped banana, ice cream sandwich’s…and they are all supper good! The staff is always friendly and ready to serve… and the place is always very clean…

EAT THIS: 10 – 20
If you’re reading this in line, it moves very quickly — which is almost a problem because there are over a hundred flavors to choose from. I chose their signature 10 – 20, caramel ice cream with Oreo chunks and fudge swirls, on a waffle cone. It was really tasty! What made it even better was the store itself. My boyfriend and I sat right underneath a newspaper article about Marianne’s and how their 70-​year old owner was always either scooping ice cream or dreaming up more flavors just down the street. It made the place feel very mom and pop. I can see why it’s a local favorite!

You know what Marianne’s is? It’s good ice cream.
Okay so I’m gonna make this simple. I got the maple nut and the one that had peanut butter and chocolate (paradise?). This ice cream was exactly what you want and the right amount. The flavors were so crisp and creamy, and it’s right off the coast so I mean cmon.

Stopped by the Marianne’s Aptos outpost after a nice beach stroll with my friend along Seacliff State Beach. This seaside hangout is the perfect spot to indulge that sweet tooth after a day at the beach.
I went with Marianne’s signature flavor, the 10 – 20 (address of their Ocean St. shop), boasting rich flavors of caramel ice cream, Oreo chunks and fudge swirls. This is ice cream decadence! Sometimes I just crave my ice cream haute. Haute ice cream flavors are coupled with the all classics at this popular ice cream shop. From sundaes and banana splits to lavender and cardamon pistachio, Marianne’s caters to all tastebuds.
I’m not very schooled and educated with ice cream but I do know that Marianne’s delivers something special. My last couple times here I’ve absolutely loved my ice cream. What I was tasting was so so good with the perfect melding of flavors! The 10 – 20 and the S’mores both have some serious ice cream star power.
I will be sure to save room for Marianne’s next time I’m in Capitola or Santa Cruz. It’s probably going to be the 10 – 20 in a wafflecone again.

OMG one of the best ice cream I have ever had! After a nice dinner, we saw this cute little shop across the street. We didn’t have dessert at the restaurant, so we were decided to give it a try.
Service:
The lady who helped us was super friendly and patient. Even though I wanted to try almost all the flavors, she didn’t give me a hint of annoyance. (Honestly, I would have been annoyed with me)
Ice Cream:
Each ice cream definitely had it’s own flavor. All of the flavors I had the opportunity to taste was strong. So good! It didn’t have a little punch, it was a big punch that really tantalized your taste buds. I ended with the coffee flavor in a waffle cone. So delicious!
Overall:
I would definitely recommend to anyone with a sweet tooth or has a sweet craving.
