AWFUL and RUDE! I have been a customer for years, was away for a few months and then this evening we placed an order which included a order of almond chicken and one order of sweet-and-sour pork. When it arrived there were two orders of sweet-and-sour pork and no almond chicken. I called them back and they said they would send the person out with the almond chicken. When the second delivery arrived, we open the box to find that it was not almond chicken but cashew chicken. So I called you inform them, and when I began to describe the situation both managers began arguing with me. They started by interrupting that«we don’t have almond chicken on the menu!» I was shocked, so I asked why didn’t they inform us of that when I first ordered almond chicken, and the manager snapped back«because everyone knows that we don’t have almond chicken on the menu!» I asked how would I know that, and asked again why didn’t they tell us(especially when we had called a second time to fix the first order) and we would simply not have ordered it, the manager kept interrupting and shouting at me that«we don’t have almond chicken on the menu! I’m too busy to talk with you about this! — I’m too busy! — we don’t have almond chicken on the menu!» I am very disappointed at a restaurant that I have enjoyed and given my business to for years, to be so blatantly disrespectful to myself and my family. I used to be able to recommend this restaurant to neighbors and visitors, and now I can no longer do this.

All the food in this restaurant is made fresh, one dish at a time. It’s the best Chinese food I’ve ever had, and we live in SF so we’ve tried it all. Give the servers a break… Mom is working her head off; Dad is in the kitchen, and the kids help out when they are not at school. Sometimes, the family is hosting relatives in the entrance room. How can people complain about service when the entire family is bending over backwards to please you? Just ask if you need something.

We stayed at Seascape Resort, and ate here twice – first dine-in, then take out. My family is from both Hong Kong and the San Francisco area, and appropriately, this restaurant provides great food from both worlds. The spareribs with black bean sauce was excellent. I had my ABC kung pao chicken, and it was well prepared – with just a touch of sauce so it’s not overly saucy. We also had corn chowder soup – very good! Other dishes were equally satisfying. My wife and I chatted with the owner’s son for a bit. It’s a family-run business. I should add that I started writing this review in 2014, and the draft had been waiting for me to finish until now.

Just got take out. Chicken and green beans and chow fung noodles. Some of the worst Chinese food we have ever had. Have gotten food in past and it was okay. The chicken was mystery meat. Odd consistency and weird taste. Noodles were complete mush. The food was bad enough but when we complained the manager would do nothing to make it right. Bad food and worst customer service, not a good combo for a menu.

What a delightful surprise! The service is very good and the food is yummy! I came from Hong Kong and I love watching sunsets from the Seascape resort beach! HK Garden is really close to one of my favorite beaches around. Anyway … Many years ago, I accidentally drove by Hong Kong garden and decided to give it a try! My adventure actually really turned my appetite on. I normally cook Chinese food myself and think that my cooking is so good, there is no need to go out at all! Well, this restaurant is worthy of us going! We love coming here and enjoy the food very much! Yummy! Thank you!

Food is ok, but the wait when they are busy is interminable. I phoned in an order 75 minutes ago and am still waiting for the takeout order. I was told 40 minutes.

Been going there for 11 years. After the last 3 visits being bad, I finally had it. Because we have a child, she sat us in the front where it was messy and their family eats, does homework, etc. The food portions were smaller lately and charge a little higher. The teapots have rust in them. They serve tea with rust – cause of lock-jaw disease. The lady got mad at me because I found a fly in the soup(egg flower). I asked if there was another soup and not the same pot, and she charged us for the 2nd soup! Really??? When I told the husband also that the portions were smaller, he said«Do you want me to bring a bucket of food for you? I can’t make you full, what do you expect???» While our child was sleeping, the wife went to bang around the newspapers and blinds open/closing them making noise to only wake up our child. The husband was speaking quite loudly as well, which then the baby woke up. They don’t care, they don’t care about people or families. I gave them my business for 11 years. Watch out for flies in their food, rust or even the chilli sauce – they cook them in big #10 size tin cans on the stove. It is not healthy cooking in cans food over and over. Don’t recommend to go there at all.

I ordered delivery for dinner which was estimated to take 40 minutes. 75 minutes later, no food had arrived, so I called the restaurant to check on the status of the delivery. I was told that I «call[ed] for no reason» and was hung up on. I called again, and the moment the associate realized it was the same person, they hung up again. I called once more, with the intent of talking to a manager. A different person picked up the phone, so explained to his the situation, and said that I was hung up on twice by the other associate. His response was, «You call[ed] for no reason». Ultimately, the food arrived about 60 minutes past their estimate(delivery took an hour 40 in total). The food was ok, but given the infuriating customer service at this restaurant, I strongly recommend going somewhere else.

I’m from SF and the food is better than most Chinese restaurants in SF; I can tell you that. The food is prepared fresh and I enjoy the Orange chicken and Beef chow fun. The Beef Chow Fun is definitely better than most restaurants that serve this. Even Koi Palace which most tourist say is the best. Koi Palace like most restaurants use meat that are pretty bad quality. Here at HKG, they use premium meat so it’s always tender. The soups are great too but yeah, it differs for everyone. Some like it and some just don’t. The most popular is the Hot and sour which I recommend trying. I also had the wonton soup. The wontons are amazing and if you can, order the soup from the wonton by itself as well. The soup is chicken stock and it’s really good because the chef puts some spices in the stock. Do indeed try this place. Seriously, I really think you’ll enjoy the food here. If you don’t well I’m sorry to hear that, but good for you for trying new restaurants!(=

We are trying this place for the first time. Really enjoying our food here. I recommend the chicken chow mein, sweet and sour chicken(lovely pineapple) and steamed rice. We are glad we stopped in for an early dinner.

Horrible service and wait. Too bad it’s the only Asian food in this area — and the orders keep flowing in. We ordered a seafood chow mien, beef chow fun, and a cup of hot and sour soup. Waited a nice hour for our take out food. Asking for chop sticks and hot sauce was like pulling teeth. Food was decent — nothing special.

Typical small hole-in-the wall Chinese restaurant in the Seascape Village near the beach in Aptos. I found the food OK and they had decent lunch specials. The place needs a top to bottom cleaning, new tile(not carpet in a Chinese Restaurant), and then painting. All this costs money but would definitely jazz this place up a bit and bring back returning customers. For all the money in Seascape Village, you would think this place would be a little more upscale. Still, owner was polite and friendly, hard working, and prices very reasonable. Will be back for sure to give them a shot for a 4 or 5 star review.

I visited Seascape from Bay Area. There are so many authentic Chinese restaurants in Bay Area so I was not expecting anything exceptional in Seascape. But I was happily surprised. The ingredients were very fresh, the prices were very reasonable, and the service was very friendly. Even the tea was so much better than other Chinese restaurants. I will come back again.

Yet again I am surprised by another Chinese restaurant in the middle of no where. They served up some authentic HK/Cantonese style food. Ordered a bunch of dishes but the Peking pork chop was awesome! Probably one of the best I ever had. On par with Nyc or SF Chinatown. The beef chow mein even past the father inlaw/food critic test.

I think it is very important that this review is available to other customers and would not be remove from the list! I was very disappointed by the service and the food quality. We stayed in the hotel Seascape Resort and decided to try Chinese Restraint that is close by. The woman who took my order did not speak English and was not nice. Also, the place looked a kind of dirty. The food tasted so bad that we end up eating just a rice and through away the rest in the garbage. I don’t recommend this restraint.

The people were really nice! The hot and sour soup was REALLY spicy. Chow mein was dry but very noodly. The rice was average. Soy sauce packets had no flavor. Sesame balls were incredible. Mongolian beef wasn’t great. All together not too satisfied as a family, especially because the fortune cookies made no sense.

This place wasn’t good It took an hour to get any food(despite there being only 4 other people in the restaurant). They never even gave us the rice we ordered. The chicken chow mein was good, and potstickers were good, however the brocolli beef tasted synthetic and artificial. The server we had was nice and gave us a refund on some orders but the overall experience was poor.

The worst experience I’ve ever had at a Chinese restaurant and arguably the worst overall dining experience I’ve ever had. I’ll start with the food as there was some positive. The orange chicken and honey walnut prawns were pretty good, not great but better than average. The other two dishes, not so much. The chow mein was actually light on noodles of all things. Lots of cabbage and other greens which may be the way they do it but not to my liking. Decent flavor but an odd balance. Broccoli beef is something that I get most places I go and tend to use it to judge the food quality. Well, it was awful at Hong Kong Garden. First, there was virtually no beef and second, the broccoli was old and had brown spots. Now, on to the main issue, the service. It was Saturday night so I get that it’s busier but the service was awful. It took about an hour to get our last dish and it seemed as if the only reason we got anything was that after 30 – 40 minutes, I started asking about our order. When that happened, we got our food one dish at a time and spaced out enough that we either had to eat them one at a time or have them get cold waiting to eat them together. Part of the point of getting multiple items is to eat them together and we weren’t able to do that. Each time I went to ask about the food(had to do it about 4 times), I got basically ignored and then saw some yelling in the kitchen but even that didn’t seem to help. No communication about it being busy, no apology for the delays, no effort at all at actual customer service at any point in the process. There may not be a ton of options in the immediate area but I can’t even begin to recommend settling for this type of service, especially when the food was marginal to poor.

This is the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. I had to throw it away. Terrible ambiance. I got Chinese chicken salad and general chow’s chicken. Yo Yo
