HuHot is a Mongolian BBQ. They have a large selection of meat, fish, noodles, veggies, fruits, and sauces to complete your meal. The buffet includes suggestions on which sauces to mix for specific flavors, or you can mix-and-match on your own. They will offer you white rice with your buffet. You are also able to request flour tortillas. They do also offer appetizers and desserts to compliment your meal. There is a limited kids’ menu that includes the buffet, chicken strips, and mac n cheese($ 5). They also have a Coke Freestyle machine that serves more than 100 different soda combinations. Pricing: Lunch Buffet — $ 9.99(weekday) & $ 10.99(weekend) and Dinner Buffet — $ 13.99 This restaurant is always busy during the lunch hour. Come at 11 if you want to avoid a crowd(line at the grill). They will make accommodations for food allergies. However, expect a slight delay in the processing of your meal as they specially clean a large section of the grill. There is no option to have the meal cooked in the back or in another area.

An ok place with a shakeys vibe inside. Chefs dont wear nets for hair or beards which is odd. Service is ok. Theres a sense of attitude from the staff that they dont like their jobs.

The place looked and felt filthy. Tables and menus were sticky. The buffet has many options but you’d see different foods get mixed with each other. Like corn in the noodles. Then after going back up for seconds, we came back to our table to see that it was cleaned off and set back up for new customers. Gone were our drinks and soups we ordered. The quality of the food isn’t high. The meats can’t be high grade. I’ve been here 4 times but this last visit will be. the last.

Oh my this place not only had great food, the restaurant was decorated really nice and the cooks were so entertaining. The assortment of different meats, vegetables, noodles and sauce was amazing. Wait staff was very good except the one that wanted to tip himself. My waiter kept my .61 so i kept the $ 3.00 tip i was going to give him. I will be returning very soon.

One of my favorite resturants. Most of the staff is friendly, and it’s usually kept clean. I drive all the way from fond du lac to come here, and am never disappointed.

It’s Mongolian BBQ, so, really, if you don’t like your food you have no-one but yourself to blame. Me, I love Mongolian BBQ, and I love it every time I have it. I went in a party of 3 on a Saturday night and had a good experience despite the long line(it moves pretty quickly). The guys at the grill were loquacious and friendly, joking and singing with each other and with the clients; it really made a positive out of what could be the most tedious part of the visit(the waiting in line). I didn’t love the staff(servers/bussers) in the seating area. Most of them did not seem to give much attention to their appearance, coming across as sloppy at best, if not outright dirty. Ours in particular was hard to find the two or three times we needed her. Of course, the focus of Mongolian BBQ is on the grill and not the dining area, and what I got from the grill I was happy with.

Love, love, love! My favorite place! Huge selection of food, good service, I’ve never had a bad experience! The only downfall is they are usually very busy!

This was only the second time I have been to HuHot because I typically cannot do buffets justice.(Maybe because we are not meant to?) You have plenty of options; from meat to veggies to sauce. The food is quite tasty and slightly above predictable. However, I can cram two plates in and call myself in a food coma. There are no flavors that I have never experienced before. However, it is a solid buffet and that is what we were there for. Go for the lunch special so if you are unable to eat your weight in food, at least you did not pay an arm and a leg for it.

The food is only good if you make it right. If you screw up, you’ll likely have to wait in line for a long time to make a new concoction. I recommend using the recipe cards at the beginning of the line to avoid making something you end up not liking., It’s a good family place to eat but what’s annoying is that it’s always so busy. I am ok with waiting for 45 minutes when someone else makes my food and serves me but I don’t like to wait forever to eat my food I made myself. If you want a quality dining experience, wait until mid to late afternoon. Dinner time is insane. Peak meal times can be a disaster if you have kids.

Finally a restaurant that will cater to allergies. This place rocks! And the food is good too. Will be back.

I love hu hot in Green Bay they are kind and clean. This place seriously grossed me out. I am just hoping I don’t get food poisoning from this store. Cross contamination happens when meats thaw out and are touching well there was thawed meat all over the meat station, every one of the sauces had things floating in them from other sauces to broccoli or some leafy food it was gross then walking up to the grill I almost tripped because of it being so sticky! My foot stuck to the floor so much that it made me stumble a bit. The bar where you can grab Salt or other items was truly gross as well they could simply wipe it up but they left it look like toddlers played in it. While workers are walking and standing around.

Update: Since my last review they have done a good job of cleaning the restaurant. Lunch was better priced than dinner. Hence the up grades in the stars.

I ate here 5÷15÷15 and was truly disappointed. This was my fourth time eating at this specific location, and it was truly terrible, probably because I was comparing my experience to the pleasant ones I had previously. First, our waitress was not friendly, she took our order incorrectly, and did not take ownership of her mistake whatsoever. Our sodas were watered down and it took 20+ minutes to get through the grill line. Plus, there was dust caked and hanging above the sauce bar and also other areas of the restaurant. Can you say unsanitary? So sad that I can no longer look forward to eating here.

This is a good Mongolian grill but not my favorite. The food is cooked properly and the staff is very friendly.

I have been to many Mongolian BBQ’s and this certainly ranks as a slight cut above from the norm I have experienced elsewhere. First off, it was far cleaner. Having a huge, indoor flat grill often makes these types of places seem to have a layer of stickiness on every item you touch. From the booth you are sitting in to the door handle to the mens room, there is always a film. That was not the case here. I won’t speculate too much as to how they accomplished this(better ventilation perhaps ?) but I do know it was apparent. Wait staff are normally an afterthought in a place like this, especially since I did not order an appetizer or cocktails, but when I told her we had never been in before she gave a perfect rendition of the process(My guess is that many people who try this place have never had Mongolian BBQ before). I also had a fresh soda sitting next to my half drank one without so much as a glance in her direction. Yep, she got 20% As for the food itself? Bear in mind that I stopped in here on a date, so I was not paying as much attention to food as I ordinarily would be. Nonetheless, I was still impressed with the freshness of ingredients and quality and diversity of the sauce concoctions available. If you like really spicy food(and I adore it) you have numerous options to make your bowl nuclear hot while still maintaining a good flavor. They have various signs above the sauce bar directing you towards one mixture or another to achieve a desired result that you find in any Mongolian BBQ, but what fun is following a formula? For me, it is all about experimentation. Next time I visit this place, I plan to experiment more with the sauces and oils, mad scientist style. We even had extremely enthusiastic cooks who were doing their best to give Japanese steakhouse chefs a run for their money by using their spatulas like a high school drill team girl would her baton. It was incredibly cheesy, but hey, they were having fun with it so I tossed a couple of ones in the tip jar for them. Overall, this is a very good option for Mongolian BBQ. It is clean, not overly expensive, and has a good variety of fresh ingredients.

I eat at Hu-Hot occasionally, but never by my own choice. While the food is ok, there are better places I’d rather spend my time and money. PROS: Typical Mongolian so you get to choose your own ingredients, you also get to tailor the taste of your food by adding your own sauces. This is a good compromise place to go in Appleton if you’re vegan dining out with non-vegans. You also get your money’s worth since you can re-visit the grill as many times as you’d like. CONS: The set up of this restaurant is HORRIBLE and I hope I’m never in there when a fire breaks out! The entrance/exit is a single corridor which is full more often than not, making it difficult to check in with the hostess and awkward to try to maneuver through all the people if you’re leaving the restaurant. Similarly, the bathrooms are in the back of the restaurant at the end of the meat/veggie buffet which means you have to maneuver through all the people fixing their plates to use the restroom. This place is always super busy so you end up standing in line at the buffet and the grill for long enough that it usually deters you from going back for a second trip if you’re still hungry. The sauce area always seems to be a mess, and there are always oils and sauces dripped on the floor between the sauce station and the grill, making the floor slippery. Like I said, the food is ok. Since you choose all the ingredients yourself, you don’t really have anyone to blame but yourself if you don’t like it. It’s everything else that goes along with the dining experience that makes this low on my list of restaurants in the area.

How Hot??? HUHOT! Amazing Place! I Frequent here a lot. Khan’s Revenge is the best sauce ever! 3 scoops of that, followed with 2 scoops of Kung Pao… Yow! and you will be breathing out of your nose easily the next few days. The only thing hotter than the sauces is the Female Servers(Hit me up ladies!) Only Thing this place is lacking is Free WiFi! I’m pretty sure that has something to do with Genghis Khan when he founded the Mongol Empire in 1206, he believed his homemade firewalls were vulnerable for attacks, and till this day, he believes no firewalls are up to his protocols with open networks.

People really love the place, but it just seemed kind of sloppy and in all honesty — the whole experience just kind of bummed me out. I’ll preface the review by saying the food was completely fine. One of the dishes I created tasted good, and one didn’t. But, the fact remains, this is buffet-style, and buffets undoubtedly bring out«buffet people». Buffets lead to bad decisions, overindulgence, vaguely gross food intermingling, and piled, dirty dishes as far as the eye can see. As we ate our salad and awkwardly mixed fish, noodle, beef, pork, sauce, vegetable combination, I couldn’t shake the general sense that at some point in the recent past, there had been some sort of violent corn or vegetable explosion in the dining room. And worse, as patrons clamored to get tables and fill bowl after endless bowl of foodstuff, it seemed my wife and I were the only ones that cared… Our waitress was nice, the food and prices acceptable, but this is one suburban strip mall joyride we shan’t be taking again.

Hu Hot is similar to do it yourself Chinese food. Unfortunately, determining the recipe for good Chinese food from a mixture of 20 sauces is near impossible. The grill area is covered by dirty food scraps, and is quite in appetizing. It is what I would assume the kitchen of a Chinese restaurant looks like, but fortunately They keep that hidden from their patrons. Seating area is akin to a glamorized Chinese restaurant. Trust the pros if you are looking for Chinese food. Go to China buffet and you’ll have a much better selection to choose from. You won’t be limited to one dish, and you won’t have to eat your recipes gone bad.

I’m sad that Mongo’s closed, and probably due to the opening of this chain. Since Mongo’s was no more, we went here instead. At the time we went, they only had beer… a very disappoint bar selection. The food was kind of meh… and that was ok, but even before we left, I was beginning to feel ill. And that ruined the rest of my night. We had hoped that it was a fluke and gave the place another chance… again, I got quite ill after eating there. I have eaten at, and pleasantly enjoyed Mongolian grill food at other chain and independent restaurants, but I know now to avoid Hu Hot if that is the one option.
