Emily cuts my husband’s hair as well as my son’s — she’s super hip and professional and always patient with my three year old. Big thumbs up! Salon is in an old building with super high ceilings and gorgeous brick walls. Very welcoming.

I wish I could like this salon… but I just can’t return. The salon itself is lovely (although the day I visited the highly visible back hall was stacked with garbage). The product line is one of my favorites. But the stylist I saw gave me the worst haircut of my life. I wish I could have allowed her to try to fix it, but as I have short hair there was nothing left to fix. Two months later I’m still trying to grow out the mess she made. I don’t know if its because she doesn’t have the skills. But I can say it was because she did not really try to find out what I wanted. I’ve never sat in a stylists chair and not been asked about myself or talked WITH rather than at. I think the most I was able to interject was «too much bulk…» «uh huh» «oh?». She literally kept talking all the way down the trash filled back hall after leaving me at the front desk to pay for her hack job. At one point an acquaintance of hers came in and she literally stopped watching what she was doing to converse with them while continuing to chop away at my hair. So… because of how irate I was at her service, end result and lack of care… i just can’t see going back. No matter how much the salon seemed perfect. Avoid Leah M. if you want to try this place. She has the potential to ruin what would be a great sanctuary of pampering.

Was able to get a same day appointment and received a great cut from Raina. My hair is very short and thin however she spent a great deal of time and was able to accomplish a sharp look for me. The studio is absolutely beautiful and it is located right downtown. Tremendous overall experience!

I had the apprentice, Raina. She did a fantastic cut and style! I was her last customer on a Saturday. She took her time, didn’t rush things, and was extremely kind. I got extra pampering compared to other salons. The atmosphere was very welcoming. I will travel an hour again to get my haircut because of the great service!

Bold salon is the place to go if your hair needs new life. The service is friendly, efficient, and your thoughts are always a priority. Stylist are knowledgable and treat u with curtesy. Did I mention that my hair was blown out and not straightened? That was the cherry on top! Hands down best salon I have been to since I arrived in this country!!!

The place to go for bridal hair! 5 of my bridesmaids and I had our hair done here for my wedding, and everyone’s turned out great! Lacie (my stylist) was incredible and I just loved my hair and got so many complements on it. She is personable and fun yet very professional and very talented — what more do you want in a stylist?! Price was also very reasonable for bridal hair.

The stylists at BOLD are by far the BEST! They really make you feel like you are special with all of the extra touches they offer. Every time I go to BOLD I look forward to the precision and speed at which they handle my services. I highly recommend them to anyone!

Bold Salon is professional but laid back. The whole staff is welcoming and friendly. Angela Green-​Ludvik is the best stylist on earth! I know her personally so I have been with her almost 10 years and she has never let me down yet! She always listens to my suggestions and concerns and gives her honest opinion but doesn’t ever push me to do something I don’t want to. I have definitely challenged her at times (as I like to change my hair often) but she has always surprised me with her amazing abilities and knowledge. She is constantly learning the newest and trending colors and styles. I have never left the salon unhappy or doubting my cut or color. She is THE BEST STYLIST EVER and I will travel near or far just to have her as my stylist!

Bold Salon is a phenomenal salon located in downtown College Avenue. The atmosphere is refreshing to say the least. Very rustic, but modernly so. My stylist was Kendra and she was exceptional. Friendly, welcoming and very attentive to my needs. As I sat down, we went over what color we would be doing. She showed me swatches and suggested the right color for my skin tone. Before we began, she brought me a cup of hot coffee and we shared an engaging conversation throughout the service. The product line Bold Salon uses is Davines. It’s an all-​natural, organic line that left my hair feeling soft and incredibly shiny. My hair color turned out perfect and Kendra made sure to style my hair in a way that was easy for me to duplicate at home. A fantastic experience with a talented stylist. I will definitely be back to Bold Salon and I will definitely be requesting Kendra again.

I recently started getting my hair done at Bold Salon, and I won’t be leaving anytime soon! Kendra is a fantastic stylist. She knows how to treat you and your hair, so you leave feeling your absolute best. The atmosphere is relaxing with great lighting and recycled wood throughout the salon. The product line Bold uses is all organic and very gentle, so you don’t leave with dry, crunchy hair. As a bonus, Bold is always giving back to local non-​profits, which is something I look for when committing to a business. I highly recommend Bold and encourage you to book an appointment with Kendra — she’s awesome!

Something magical happened when I walked in the door. Lacie soothed me and told me she could definitely fix the last hairstylist (who bleached my very dark brown natural hair). It will be ok! We’ll color that gray and make it multi-​dimensional so it looks really great… Um okay…
When she unveiled the color, Oh Myyyyyyyy!!! It is the BEST my hair has ever looked! The color is phenomenal! The cut fits my face. I cried I was SSOOOO HAPPY! I had to hug her! The bleached chunks were GONE!!!
Lacie is the REAL deal! She is professionally trained at one of the top schools. My ONLY reservation about posting this is that she becomes too busy! :) But I will chance it.

The best salon experience — and haircut — I have had in years.
I arrived in Appleton from California for a 2 day business trip. I am a working mom and don’t get much time to myself, so finding myself with an afternoon free, I booked an appointment at with Lacie. Without much direction from me, beyond the fact that I wanted a cut and color, Lacie gave me the perfect style, highlights and all-​over color. She totally got my hair and my aesthetic.
She is also super-​nice and very respectful of time. When I told her I needed to be done by a certain time she did everything in her power to get me out the door without scrimping on my cut/​color.
I will be crossing the country again to have my hair done by Lacie. She is that good.
Bold and Lacie are the last thing I expected to find in Appleton, but I am so glad I did!

Just moved to Appleton, and I wasn’t really too sure where to go, where they knew how to do anything other than a buzz cut. Tried Bold on whim and it’s great! Abigail cut my hair very well, they were all fun to talk to, and the handcrafted ambiance added a nice flare. I have been recommending Bold to all of my friends.

Ambience: The salon itself has a really charming rustic feel that makes you feel instantly relaxed. The complimentary drinks are an added bonus.
Staff: Friendly and attentive. I was acknowledged right away and my stylist was completely focused on me. I saw Lacie and she’s very talented, she cut my hair perfectly with my thick waves and layers. You’d think that would be a given, but this is one of three stylists I’ve been to who got this right and the result is just gorgeous!
Price: Worth every penny! It’s very reasonable and I feel like I got more than my money’s worth in the result.
