I’m familiar with the Art of Shaving. Ameena at Washington Square is great but this was the WORST experience ever. I was greeted by a taller gentleman who left the store with cigarettes in hand like a minute after greeting me and told the other sales associate to help me he’d be right back. The lady who was helping another couple stepped away from them to assist me. I found out her name was Liz and she was so helpful. I found out the gentleman was the store manager!!! How rude! I was in the store well over 45 minutes and didn’t mind waiting because Liz was helping everyone and doing it well. She had all the answers and demonstrated for the whole store and honestly made it fun. I’m sad that this locations manager was so rude and not interested in helping. I’m glad Liz made the trip better for me. But I will not be shopping with the manager ever again. I never felt more unimportant in this store.

My husband and I visited for the first time and were looking for a gift for our son. We are unfamiliar with the products. Were we initially greeted but after that we couldn’t get any help or information. It felt as if we were bothering the clerk. We were dressed in very causal clothes as we had just come from the gym. There was a level of snobbery from the clerk. I felt like we were in the Pretty Woman movie with money to spend and no one to help. Bad experience,

I’m writing this on behalf of my husband. I bought a Royal Shave for him for our wedding anniversary and this cost $ 55. I thought it was quite expensive but that it would be worth it. This treatment is 45 minutes and is, apparently, the ‘ultimate indulgence’ and a ‘relaxing escape’. My husband was taken behind a screen, rather than in a separate room, at the back of the store and could hear the two females who work there chatting throughout his treatment — not very professional at all. His treatment was also less than 45 minutes! My husband’s skin is smooth and smelt wonderful although he said it felt tender and he had sore red marks on his skin afterwards where it appears the barber may have pressed too hard(I’m not sure of the technicalities, only that his face was sore). He has since told me that his barber in downtown Annapolis does a wet shave and haircut for $ 45 and he would rather go there next time. He will definitely not be returning to The Art of Shaving and I feel bad that a special anniversary present was not all it was supposed to be.

My favorite shaving store chain; but then again, I don’t know of any others. I’ve been to these stores in Orange County, Beverly Hill, Tysons Corner and Las Vegas. This one is my favorite. Maybe because it’s the one closes to my house. But the staff there recognizes me, remembers me and always have a chat with me. Because of them, I basically bought the gamut of things: Silvertooth Badger Brush, Straight razor, Pre shave, shaving cream, after shave, etc. A Lexus is expensive and cost more than your average car, but it’s a much nicer car. So are the Art of Shaving products. Once you go in this direction, you’ll wonder why you didn’t earlier. Let’s face it, if you’re a man, you are basically shaving everyday. Why use inferior products. You deserve better. Go here and you won’t regret it even though you are dropping more money than you want to.

I came in here on a whim when we were waiting for a table to open up at CPK. The staff has a deep understanding of the products and will demonstrate anything for you if you are unsure of whether you will(a) like it or(b) know how to use it. The prices are high and you can certainly find the products, or very similar, online. I’d suggest going in and finding out what you like. Then either purchase a starter set and restock via online retailers. Great place to find a gift for that male who enjoys the finer things in life.
