Liberte, The Schooner

Incredibly wonderful afternoon of sailing out of Falmouth at Cape Cod! The boat is amazing and handled the stiff winds like a champ. The crew of three made us feel at home with an easy manner and timely serving of beverages. Best 3-​hour cruise deal on the planet!!!

Great time on Liberte! I have been on this boat a of couple times over the years for company meetings. We have always had a blast! What I liked most about our trip is how welcoming the Captain and his first mate were. We had dinner and drinks on both of our trips and everything was great! They even let those of us that wanted to help hoist the sales. Great time!

We recently went on the Liberte as a private charter for the BF’s company’s summer outing. We had a great time; the crew was great and the captain got the few kids on board involved in hoisting the sails.
So why only 4 stars? First, we couldn’t figure out where to park. There is a lot of areas marked off with private no parking signs. You have to enter at the entrance just pass the sign about the Pirate Adventures on Severn. It appears to be a tight alleyway but will lead you to the dock. You can park anywhere in this lot that isn’t reserved 24 hours/​7 days.
Second, we didn’t go that far out, which was a bit disappointing. We had previously taken an hour sail from nearby and in an hour made it the same distance. I can understand that it is a schooner and relies mostly on wind power, but it would have been nice to actually sail a bit into the bay.

A friend had chartered this schooner for a mutual friend’s birthday party for about 15 guests. We had an awesome experience. I have to say that the weather was bad (we ended up going in a little early) but we had so much fun that that it really didn’t matter.
The captain was friendly and told us some fun seafaring stories. He let a few of us help out with the ropes and even steer the ship. His wife Jane was awesome and made us feel really welcome. In addition they had another guy aboard who was also really polite and friendly which really makes a difference.
We purchased an open bar package which was well worth the money. They took our orders, made our drinks and brought them to us which was really nice. And despite their having other responsibilities, our glasses were never empty :-)
We also got some catering options: a cheese platter, vegetables, chicken skewers and shrimp. All of the food was surprisingly good, although the portions were a little smaller than expected.
The schooner itself is really beautiful. They’ve done a nice job arranging the deck for with ample space for standing around and enjoying the view, or lounging about.
Overall I would highly recommend this if you’re looking to charter a vessel in Annapolis.

It was nice but too crowded and the pilot yelled at this elderly woman because her whole family hadn’t shown up and he grabbed the two extra tickets from her even though we’d already set sail, and he did not reimburse her for the tickets, which was SO WEIRD, and threatened to throw the son who was defending his mother off the ship and here it’s too crowded, anyway. The pilot guy needs to clean up his act, stop acting desperate for money and just grabbing stuff when the boats to crowded anyway. Pretty scenery. Just need to update the seating and sell fewer tickets. THANKS.
