I’m boring when it comes to bling. The only jewelry that I wear is a watch and my wedding band, and I find guys that wear a lot of jewelry to be A) Trying to impress a cougar. B) Compensating for a deep rooted inadequacy. C) A famous rapper. Fortunately,(or unfortunately, as it were) I am none of the above. My wife is another story entirely. And when we visit Annapolis, which happens at least twice per year, we somehow, without fail, end up at Labelle Cezanne. My wife is wiley and will ply me with a few cocktails at one of the numerous downtown watering holes, and then casually suggest that we go see the gals at subject. I fall for it every time. But honestly, I don’t mind at all. The owner and her staff are fantastic. They are genuine and courteous, but a little edgey as well-which I like. My wife is on an Alwand Vahan bender, and Labelle carries a really nice selection. And although I don’t really comparison shop, I think that the discount I always receive makes for competitive pricing. In sum, a nice shop with a nice staff and nice stuff. I would suggest a better men’s watch selection, but on the other hand, that would only serve to lighten my wallet.

my fiancé purchased my engagement ring setting here, and used a family stone as the main stone. after less than a year, two of the four prongs broke causing my grandmothers stone to fall to the floor of a gym locker room. LUCKILY i found it. when i called to see if they could fix it i was told i just had to come in for them to see. i explained that it was very inconvenient for me to do so(over an hr drive each way) and that i would prefer to come when the jeweler was there so i could just make one trip, but they didn’t seem to care. finally i got upset and stated that i would appreciate them making this a little easier considering it was likely due to a poor job on their part that i almost lost my grandmothers stone, but the lady quickly snapped at me «we are not the one wearing the ring it is not our fault!». needless to say i took my ring elsewhere to pay to have it fixed the right way and within an hour while i watched, and i will never be back to la belle cezanne.

I really wish I was more of a bling girl as I would like to give this place more business. About 7 years ago we bought a beautiful diamond platinum ring here to replace my original engagement/wedding rings that I had I lost somewhere in the Atlantic off the coast of Massachusetts. Hopefully the sea life are enjoying them now… That is about the only«really nice» piece of jewelry I own, and I love it as much as when I saw it in their glimmering glass case. It was designed by a New Orleans artist and many people ask me if it is an antique, as it really is a beautifully crafted timeless piece. Even if it is 6 months between visits, the owners always recognize me regardless of a new hairstyle or seasonal wardrobe. They graciously clean and inspect my ring and always engage me in warm conversation. Last weekend we had our dog along and they allowed our chocolate lab into their pristine showroom and even gave him little cuddles and ear rubs. So if you are wandering Main Street in Historic Annapolis, pop in to their newer relocated store and take a peek at the sparkly merchandise. You might just be tempted to walk out with some newly acquired bling.
