Bottom Line: A good place for crafters and casual seamstresses. For basic sewing projects or crafts, I feel like this store is adequate. However, for more sophisticated sewing projects like home décor, quilting quality clothing, I have other fabric stores that are my go-to. However, Jo-Ann’s is still a good starting place for some basic notions, to shop patters and get ideas. As far as «shopability,» I do find the aisles to be a bit congested here. Luckily, I have also found the staff to be helpful in helping me locate the craft supplies for which I was searching.

Poor customer service policy. I’m next in line. However had to wait for six others who were still shopping, but had the next number 20 minutes waiting. Omg.

This store has to have the WORST customer service I have ever seen. Every time I’ve been no one has said hi to me or asked if I needed help. The cutting counter and register are insanely slow. They’ve installed a system with take a number which imo has made the wait even worse! The fabric selection is okay but pretty limited. The store is very small. I highly recommend just making the drive to Columbia, that Joanns is amazing and huge selection and good customer service.

I can usually find what I need but be prepared to wait and wait and wait for any help. If you go on the weekend, expect to be there no less than an hour. They usually have 2 maybe 3 people working in total so the cutting counter line stretches to the back of the store and the checkout is usually 20 people deep. People complain and they get a shrug from the employees who are of no help. I discovered the Joann’s in Columbia which is enormous and worth the trip just so you can be in a good mood for the rest of the day.

This might be the smallest Joann’s I’ve ever shopped in. Do not expect to have a quick shopping experience. The cutting counter takes for-ev-er and there is nothing fast about checking out either. Joann’s is not my favorite place to buy fabric, the selection is just OK, I’ve bought better quality/prints at non-chain stores and online. But the hours are convenient and they always have coupons.

Just left Joanns and was very disappointed. I looked around the store looking for something specific and didn’t find it on my own. I later asked an associate where the buttonhole feet were for machines and she couldn’t help because she was new, OK that’s fine… I then was passed by another associate and I asked her. Her response was very short and attitudinal saying she would help me after she gets the phone… I just left… Customer service is not an option especially when we are in such a difficult economic climate… lost one customer today just because of the associate’s paraverbal response.

Customer service is horrible. The old lady cutting fabric had attitude and acted as if it was an in convince to cut our fabric was she was cutting stock for shelves. First time I’ve ever left a business and wished I had gone to Walmart

Jo-Anns is great for fabric. I frequently buy remnants for small projects as well. They have a good selection of craft materials but I was not impressed with their ribbon and button selection. As far as Fabrics, they have plenty but from what I hear there is a better location in Severna Park that I must go learn about. Service is ok, depends on the day how friendly they are. It’s small and they do carry some cute seasonals that go on sale.

Service is fine. Very small store. I went to look at baking supplies and wedding stuff, both of which were missing at this location. I prefer Joann to Michael’s and AC Moore, but this particular store is lacking.

Dear God, I’ve become a little old lady! Why, you ask? Because I started learning how to knit! Anyway, once I discovered the joys(read: frustrations) of two sticks and some yarn, I quickly looked up all the craft stores in the area to start my collection of fuzzballs to turn into wonderful creations. One of these was Jo-ann Fabrics, which, back in my heyday of «Imma gonna learn to sew!»(Ask me how that went sometime…) Was THE place in town to go to for all my fabric needs. Now that I’m onto knitting, it’s one of my favorite places to go when I need a new set of needles, or just see what they have in new yarn. The staff has always been helpful and friendly, and anytime there’s a coupon sale is a great time to go shopping there, because the prices fit right into my budget. Darn them, they put the needlepoint stuff right next to the knitting needles… must resist urge to try another type of project!!!

I go here often for various projects. I have made Halloween costumes and dog dens with their fabric. Everyone is helpful and knowledgeable, but the prices tend to fluctuate depending on who is at the cash register. I try to go when this one lady is working because she applies all sorts of discounts, even unadvertised ones. Other cashiers acted like they don’t have discounts, so it can be hit or miss. All around good place.

ok for what it is. Kind of a creaky, musty yet practical place. I went in to look at the yarn. The store had a wide selection of acrylic yarn and some cotton and wool blends. Decent. If I need some cheap yarn I’ll go back. The knitting needles were quite a bit cheaper than at the higher end yarn shop in Alexandria, Va.
