New China Restaurant

This week I realized I am a fan of New China Restaurant. When someone is not feeling well do not overlook the possibility of the restorative powers of the wonton soup from New China.
Over the best couple of days I have picked up four large wonton soups and I am happy to report illnesses seemed to have left the system.
I also ordered the chicken with garlic sauce. It was refreshing to bight in and get a little crunch from the veggies. I appreciate the use of fresh veggies. It wasn’t as garlic flavored as I might have liked but I know I have a high garlic rating.
This is a place where you can place and pick-​up an order. They also do deliveries within three miles. I usually stick with pick-​up orders but the $ 1 delivery fee isn’t had and if I am every the sick one who needs the wonton soup I may go ahead and the delivery order.
I recommend calling ahead or planning to run an errand after placing your order because it does take a couple of minutes, frankly I prefer it that way, it means something to me to know they are putting my order together not just pulling prepared servings out and warming them up for a couple of seconds.
Back to the magical soup — the crispy wonton strips are also really good. These do not come out of an industrial sized bag. Much like french fries at an American place these can be a good indicator of attention to details and caring about the smaller things. Also of note, while different folks have been at the register different times I have visited everyone I have dealt with here has been nice.
I think it is safe to say this is my Annandale take-​out Chinese spot.

Food was terrible. I ordered a General Tso chicken special and a combination. They came in with huge green bell peppers and onions, which was also very thin and not sticky as it usually is. Did not taste any garlic either (General Tso sauce is garlic based). The sauce was just not right and odd– I could not finish it. The chicken was over breaded. Fried rice with the combo was plain, not even a single veggie on it. Served with a small spring roll.
Will not buy food here again.
2 stars for a simple online delivery system, which saved me a lot of time. Food was here by 45 mins and was nicely warm.

They messed up the order twice and took an hour for delivery. Very disappointed with this place. Not recommend at all.
