I’ve been several times, and the food has always been good. I really enjoy the salsa bar, which has a bunch of options. It’s a large place, so I’ve never waited more than 10 minutes for a table. The service is usually good, even if it’s busy. I’ll be back(you know you read that in Arnold’s voice).

Very over seasoned burritos, I couldn’t taste any flavor. Rice is flat and tasteless.

My favorite place for Mexican food and the best Margaritas around! Love the salsa bar, fast service and Mexican atmosphere. Lunch prices are a little cheaper.

The service was fast, and the food was amazing. We got the steak chimichanga, which was really tasty. The carne asada was the best meat I’ve had in months. Super good.

This used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant, but lately the quality has been pretty poor. Our drinks never got refilled, service took forever, and I got the incorrect food. Unless they make some changes, we’ll be finding somewhere else to enjoy Mexican food.

Excellent food and fast service they seemed really busy, even though we were seated immediately and the food was out in about 10 mins. Great!

The restaurant is always busy and loud. Food is inconsistent and service for me is usually poor. Everything that I have tried tastes different from any other food that I’m used to. So, if you’re a picky eater, stay away. If you’re open to different food, by all means give it a try.

I love their Mexico City tacos. And their rice. And their banana daiquiris. Their table guacamole is amazing(from what I hear… because I don’t eat guacamole). Simply put, I have never eaten anything bad here. Great food with an assortment of salsas to choose from. The creamy cilantro salsa is my favorite.

We went to Papa’s and Beer at the recommendation of the Bartender at the Holiday Inn. I love Mexican but I don’t like the stuff we have in Augusta Georgia, its more a Tex-Mex. I like a more west coast Arizona/California style Food, if its not just a fresh Taco on the beach in Cozumel, or from a small taco joint in Chicago. Well this is what I have been missing for years now! Great Authentic Mexican food not Tex-Mex not southern Mexican. Just real good food! I had the Tamales Caseros #22 Tamales one beef with this fantastic black gaujilio chili sauce and roasted tomatillo sauce and one chicken served with Beans with fresh pico mixed in and a real nice rice, rather than the mushy refried mess and mush yellow rice every other place does So good ! Wife had a Burro it was huge and she liked it very much. My cousin pollo campero — chicken mushroom and spinach plate that looked amazing and I don’t like mushrooms at all. The other item I really liked was a bean dip rather than salsa for the(1) free basket of chips. I have read reviews that complain it cost more to get more chips, I don’t see an issue with it, if you are eating you don’t need basket after basket if you are drinking well pay the minimal cost. Like that they serve on Sundays, not sure how they can since every other place says they cannot(went to Texas roadhouse one Sunday driving through and they couldn’t sell a beer) … but glad to have a new Sunday pit stop after day trips to the Mtns or the Jokey lot

Went here with my wife and daughter on Sunday. Food and service were excellent! Asked the server what she recommended and she told me the California Burrito. I’m so eased with her choice! The bean dip was really tasty and everyone was very friendly. Can’t wait to go back!

Took forever to get chips and bean dip. They have a salsa bar but it is disgusting and most of the salsas are bad. In short Food was meh, service sucked, and place was disgusting. I ordered the chicken fajitas and my gf got the chicken n wrap. The fajitas came out cold and not in the traditional hot pan. The chicken wrap was cold also and did not come as my gf requested because of her allergies. After waiting for a server to come back we ended up just walking out.

This location can be characterized as having slow service, a pathetic excuse for a salad bar, and food that’s not nearly as good as the Greenville location. I just tried it for the third time, and it hasn’t changed, but has in fact gotten worse over time. Probably won’t give it a 4th try.

Okay I went here because it said Papas and beer. I love craft beers and I love Mexican food. So i thought this would be the perfect place«I was wrong» they don’t have any good beers. Its just the regular beer any restaurant would have. However it was probably one of the best Mexican restaurants having eaten at I had the best chicken fajitas that I’ve ever had there. As for a Mexican place when I come back through I will definitely stop here. But not really for the beers though.

I was here last Sunday night for dinner. A server greeted me at the host stand and asked if I’d like to sit out on the deck. It was a very pleasant evening. It was also her section, so she was my server. I first ordered a strawberry daiquiri. I haven’t had one anywhere in a while. This one was very good. I ordered a carnitas burrito. It was covered with melted cheese and ranchero sauce. This is my favorite burrito style. Bit was very good. I was dining outside at around sunset. I should have asked the server to lower the shade to keep the sun from shining directly into my eyes. While I could have been more proactive, they probably should also know their restaurant and also proactively consider such details without a customer needing to ask.

A really good home town Mexican stop. I came to town looking for dinner and came away very satisfied. Very friendly and attentive staff. Large menu with good beer selection. The party next to use had the table prepared guacamole, man it looked good. Great find for a visitor.

This location isn’t my favorite, but I am a huge fan of Papa’s and Beer. They have a great selection of food, salsa, and beer. My favorite thing about Papa’s and Beer is the fact that they have a salsa bar. It probably isn’t the most sanitary thing to offer, but it’s neat to be able to try a plethora of varieties. My personal favorite is the pumpkin seed salsa. Sounds weird, I know, but don’t hate until you try! I ordered the fresh chicken, which is essentially two butterflied and grilled chicken breasts with sauteed veggies and topped with a pineapple salsa. The fresh salsa on top really made the dish. I would definitely order that again. I do enjoy that Papa’s and Beer serves a fresh pinto bean and pico de gallo side instead of refried beans. That is much more appetizing to me. It is a little pricey, but you get ginormous portions, and that counts as two meals, right? That’s how I see it anyways. The atmosphere here is a little overwhelming when it’s busy, but the food is worth it in my book.

I’m pleased with this place… They impressed me with the great fresh crispy chips and hot bean dip that they bring every table. Our server was attentive. Portions are quite large. I was happy with my meal, but not floored. I will give them another opportunity to impress me. I would not hesitate to go back.
