Fantastic student run fine dining at a great price. Delicious local cuisine with a excellent dessert bar. Make your reservation well ahead of time.

This is a great deal. First time in I had the stuff lamb chops with a curry orzo. The lamb was cooked perfectly. The meal could have been a bit hotter, and the curry was a little grainy, but otherwise, this would be a $ 28 meal for half the price. Service was OK, inexperienced but it is a school after all. Some free tidbits before and after made it special. Nice. Def. will be going again, and maybe again and again.

I went to Lucy’s for lunch with a large a group of women and let me tell you, the food was top notch and the service was exceptional. I go to fancy restaurants outside(Michelin Star, etc…) and Lucy’s is up there with them. Starting out, I had the Panzanella Caesar which was delicious. The greens were fresh and the dressing was very flavorful. The entrée I chose was the rack of lamb. Oh my goodness, the lamb wasn’t gamey. It was cooked to perfection: medium rare, tender and the curry sauce was beyond succulent. The lentil root orzo veggie salad and broccolini were perfect with the lamb. Since we were there on a Friday, it was the all you can eat dessert extravaganza. I tasted several chocolate treats which were rich and creamy and the swan cream puffs were beautiful. Others at the table had the pecan and lemon curd tarts which were a big hit! I topped it off with some lime sorbet and I was more than satisfied. This restaurant rivals any of the traditional big name chef restaurants in Anchorage. To my understanding, Lucy’s is only open for lunch and closes when school breaks, so check their website. You must make a reservation. The location can be tricky if you aren’t familiar with the UAA campus. It’s located in the 3400 building on the Western side of the campus. Monday through Thursday you will need to get a parking pass from them in order to avoid a ticket; however, on Fridays parking is for free. Just don’t go there — RUN! This is one of the hidden gems in Anchorage! Well done Chefs and soon to be Chefs!

I have not had a sit down dinner at Lucy’s quite yet but will update my review once I do. I am here to review the pastries specifically. They serve them in the morning and in the afternoon hours. A big selection and a very creative one at that! I had one of their cream puffs and a muffin. Both were outstanding. Both of these fair sized pastries came to $ 1.50. I gave them $ 3.00 and told them the extra was my donation for doing such a fantastic job in their baking and presentation. It was awesome that I can pay such a small price for fresh baked pastries from my fellow students. They even offered free samples! I havent seen one Starbucks that is willing to do that. I plan to come back here, often!

Lucy’s is run by the students of the Culinary Arts and Hospitality program at UAA so they’re only open on Tuesdays — Fridays from 11:30 — 1:30, but to make up for this, they have an amazing menu that’s super affordable. If you get a chance, try the Ostrich steak. It was juicy and tender like I never would’ve expected.
