I came in tonight with my girlfriend to buy twenty tacos, when we were getting ready to order we noticed a sign that said«taco special» which was, if you bought four tacos it would cost $ 5.99 with a drink included. So as we were discussing to each other that it was going to be a better choice to get the taco special rather than the twenty tacos alone and one drink, I don’t know what was wrong with the cashier but he got upset and threw his pen down and walked away. Then as we were ready to order the guy wasn’t around to take our order, so one of the other workers came and we asked her about the taco special, when the guy finally decide to come back, we asked him if we can do ten chicken tacos and ten carne asada so he turned around and asked the lady behind him and she said no it had to be ten chicken and ten asada, so then my girlfriend says why can’t you do 12 asada and 8 chicken since it was still going to total twenty & the cashier raised his voice at her and told her no we couldn’t do that because it had to be two different types of tacos. No where on the paper of the«taco special» does it say that it has to be two different kinds of tacos so I don’t understand why he raised his voice at her when it is clearly not stated. The food is way too overpriced and lacks flavor. I’m for real going to go back and tell him to do his job properly or else. If he can’t even do his job of just cashing people for $ 10 an hr and at least be nice then don’t work there. It’s not like they’re slaving his life away. He needs a new jobs. Don’t come to this garbage. I don’t know how this place is still open.

I got the super burrito or the supreme burrito or whatever and it tasted like nothing. I couldn’t taste the sour crème, little to no flavor. They put tomatoes in it which was different but that was literally all I could taste. I had my friend try it to see if it was me, and she agreed that it just didn’t taste right. The hot sauce as well, no flavor it’s just spicy. I honestly am not coming back. Disappointed.

Ever since the new owners bought this place it completely sucks. The food isn’t the same, they’re stingy, and over price everything. I won’t be surprised if this place goes under its not like anyone would care anyway. Horrible food

Came here two times once because me and my gf were at the food 4 less next door and saw one of the taqueros was making them on the spot outside. That time the tacos were really good. Today I came on my own and ordered an alpastor burrito. Probably one of the worst burritos I’ve ever had. The meat did not taste anything like al pastor and there was barely any in it at all. It kinda looked like they threw far scares into the burrito and stuffed it with a bunch of tasteless rice and beans. Probably the worst part was that they put fresh tomatoes on it, I’ve never had a burrito with tomatoes in it at a real Mexican food place. I would of gave them one star but I feel like their tacos are decent. My other complaint is their sauce. A great Mexican food place always has sauce that just isn’t spicy but also has lots of flavor. They lacked flavor not only in their food but also their sauce.

I was really looking forward to this place on a Friday night. I took my family and it ended not being so great. I cant say the food was bad but it was not good. The tacos had very little meat and no flavor. Plus they did not honor a certificate from
It was a waste of $ 40. I could have spent it where i like but directed me to it. Its okay. I will not be going there again.

We were looking for a place to eat Tacos before Disneyland and we came across this place. We should’ve left when we had the chance. First of all the cashier had no idea about the 9.99 for 10 tacos deal and then the lady working the kitchen came to help her and said we had to print it out and use it like cash. REALLY? Anyway she finally consented after we were about to just head out. The salsa bar was very limited and looked like it needed some cleaning, there was salsa and food bits everywhere. The tacos weren’t good, so maybe they do need some sort of deal to reel in customers. I think two stars is very generous.

These tacos are small so buy a lot, because they are crazy tasty! The place seems to get a little busy after 7:00 pm… Very popular with the locals. Even when busy, the service is quick and the place is clean. If you feel like eating ten great tacos in a very Mexican atmosphere, this is the place!

This is he first time I’ve been here and it will probably be my last. Dad and I ordered their taco special and my brother had their carne asada burrito. The food was fine but lacked a lot of flavor. I kept pouring on the salsa just to taste something! Overall, we all voted that this place is just ok and we probably won’t revisit.

I came here almost 9 months ago, not sure if its the same owners or not now but that had a terrible hangover was the only thing I ate all day. But they failed to mention they cook with peanut oil or use peanut oil. I am HIGHLY allergic. Throughout the day I started to feel worse breathing became harder(thought I must a really over did it the night before) but that was not the case around 11pm that night my eyes where swelling shut as well as my throat. Entire body was breaking out in a rash I rushed to the er to find out it was a reaction to peanuts, wondering how the hell I haven’t had anything besides a pastor burrito & water the entire day. But in some way it had peanuts in it. This is very dangerous & if they do use peanut oil they should really post a sign about it or be more careful preparing peoples food. People could die or end up in the hospital like I did. Will obviously never return or recommend this place.

Most of the food in this place is comparable to every other average Mexican restaurant in town. But all that changes every Friday and Saturday night when they set up an Al Pastor rotisserie outside the front door and serve up the ABSOLUTEBEST, AUTHENTICMEXICANSTREETTACOS I have ever eaten this side of the border. The condiment bar is always stocked with outstanding marinated carrots, fire roasted chilies and good salsas but you may have to ask for the truly authentic AVACADOSALSA that makes the Al Pastor street tacos taste EXACTLY like MEXICO.

Tasty late night Mexican food to satisfy your cravings! I had the pollo quesadilla– the guac portion was generous, and the meat well flavored. Prices were fair for what it is– greasy Mexican at midnight. I thought the people were nice and the place was clean– ticked off all my requirements for a pitstop :)

DONOTBUYTHE UnilocalDEAL! DONOTBUYTHE UnilocalDEAL! DONOTBUYTHE UnilocalDEAL! Did I make my point clear? It will NOT be honored at this location. Only explanation was the owners changed 6 months ago. You mean to tell me they have not had anyone redeem this deal nor check their Unilocal page in 6 months. Yeah right. I bought this Unilocal Deal to use for dinner with my son about a week ago as we live in the area. Unfortunately, we did not go then so I panned to go with some co workers for lunch today. Well, after they did not honor the Deal we erroneously decided to stay and eat(probably part of their plan to deny). Of the 3 items ordered the Wet Burrito(regular) and my taco special were OK. The meat patty on the Cheeseburger was a joke. Only one scoop of the green salsa remained at the salsa bar. They charge for soda refills, etc. Several years ago I refused to eat here again as they closed the doors 10 minutes before posted closing time. I should have held myself to this self imposed banning. They are now on my irrevocably banned list! Never again. Do yourself a huge favor and go to Los Cotijos on Euclid near Chapman

The food was good. The 20 for 16 deal worked but they«didn’t know how» to do the 10 tacos for 10 bucks. But they were only 1.30 each n e way

My friends and I were looking for Mexican cuisine on , and we just happened to find this place on the list. We quickly printed out the coupon we just bought and headed over. Customer service was excellent and very accommodating. First, we ordered the chorizo and carne asada tacos. Their red hot sauce is spicy and very good on their food. The chorizo tacos were very tasty, but I found the carne tacos to be bland. Next, their super nachos were delicious until we discovered that it was just mostly nachos and little meat and guacamole. The cheese was not even melted and ruined the taste of the nachos that we tried to avoid it. Overall, the price and portions were very satisfactory when using the coupon, but I will prefer to go to Alertos down on Beach Blvd instead if there is no coupon for this place.

Came here because it was either this place or Taco Bell since we were waiting for our blueberry donuts. I guess we came at almost closing time because the cashier informed us that they only had burritos and it was only for to go too. My boyfriend and I wanted their super nachos but since they said burritos only we decided to walk out. As we were walking out the cashier asked what was it that we wanted to order. I said super nachos then she took a few seconds to debate whether or not it was worth their trouble or not to make it. Well she decided that she would sell it to us so we came crawling back with our money. Our super fries was ready within 2 minutes. I don’t understand why they told us only burritos to begin with. But the super nachos pretty good. We came a second time another night and got the same thing. But this time we made the mistake of saying«for here» because instead of getting a huge takeout box of nachos we got a dinky little plate, a few pieces of chips and some toppings. It looked nothing like what we got the first time. We must have gotten less than half amount of food from the first time. After we finished the nachos we were still hungry. Where as the first time we were struggling to finish the super nachos. If you order super nachos. Tell them«to go» or you’ll be sorry…

S side of Katella E of Euclid(Same lot as M & M Doughnuts) Sometimes I really like 3 star restaurants because they could turn out to be a real gem for me, but such was not the case on my visit to TLA… Unilocalers are pretty spot on with this one! While TLA is anything but bad… it is anyplace but one to write home about. Dining here might have one saying«hey that’s not bad.» On my visit I had 3 Tacos: where the two on the left are Carne Asada and the one on the far right is Al Pastor. My good friend Hion could not be more right about these tacos having room for improvement. I fully agree they all needed more to kick up the flavor and make them great. Both meats were anything but bad, but definitely could have been better. Their Salsa Bar/Spicy Pickled Vegetable was fully stocked when I came in and their were several different Salsa’s available. I chose the Green Tomatillo Salsa thinking it would be a little bit sweet and a little bit spicy, but Holy Hell Satan would have been proud as this Salsa was like fire on the tongue! I’m glad I just used a little bit on my tacos so as not to overpower the other ingredients.: I’ll tell you what I especially loved were their homemade chips to which I added some fresh Pico de Gallo: The chips were nice and crunchy and had a nice buttery taste to them complemented nicely by the fresh ingredients of the Pico de Gallo which while on the mild side was still quite flavorful. Service was very nice and pretty quick. The inside of this place is pretty dated. There are free Beer Murals everywhere with some maps of Mexico. They have a couple of TVs and I believe a Juke Box. Seating comes in the form of plastic booths. It’s kind of loud inside… If that’s not really your thing you may want to get your order to go. There is lots and lots of parking.

As I write this review, I am feeling a bit ambivalent to Taqueria Los Altos. It is like having to critique a work of art that is yet to be completed. The tacos here at Los Altos have the potential to be much better than what they really are. The carne asada was a bit drab, the carnitas, very ordinary, and the al pastor had a good flavor but nothing that popped out. Carnitas were ok. The salsa bar had several kinds of salsas including a red tomato based medium salsa, a hot chile salsa, salsa verde, pico de gallo, roasted jalapenos, and onions marinated in vinegar and chili. I though the hot chile salsa stood out, but was a bit one-dimensional. It had a nice strong garlic flavor, but was a bit overpowering in the vinegar. The super tacos are a bit larger than what you find any other taqueria. It includes some guac, sour cream, cheese and a bit more meat. But at over $ 2 each I just expected a lot more. They have an extensive menu of offerings, so I will probably come back when I am in the area to try some other items. But through trying to offer too many things, I fear they may be going the route of jack-of-all-trades master-of-none.
