I’ve been coming here for years on Monday nights with my 98 year old friend, Anne. who happens to have a «crush» on Saul. He is so kind to her, and always goes out of his way to make sure things are just right for her. The food is always delicious for both of us, and Anne always takes half of her dinner home, which Saul carefully packs for her. A few months ago, Anne took sick, and has been in a care facility. She’s always telling me how much she misses Spires, and Saul, and to tell the truth, so do I.

Was looking for a place to have breakfast before a day @ Disneyland. Wasn’t really feeling the usual«Denny’s» meal but came across this place on a «breakfast» Google search. O. M. G. So glad we gave this place a shot. Ordered the house omelette(which came with avocado) and added bacon to it. When it arrived, not only was it a whole avocado’s worth of slices, they also did NOT skimp on the bacon. Every forkful so flavorful down to the last bite. Skip the hash browns and order the home fries. SOGOOD!

So as I was getting ready to order from spires in Anaheim which my boyfriend and I have been coming to for a very long time the waiter ask me particular if I had payment today? and I was stunned just because my boyfriend and I have been eating at this restaurant with no problem except for one particular day a year ago that his card didn’t go through because he was going to get paid the following day which would have been the morning so the following day of that year that morning my boyfriend paid with no problem he tells me later that there was a drawer filled with other IOU of orders that people ate and didn’t pay either. So that morning of 2014 he paid. So that was settled we continue to eat there. So with the Saul the waiter, that asked me if I had payment just now as I was getting ready to order my meatloaf I was stunned at the fact that he asked me that with such a bitter attitude and then my boyfriend begins to confront him why would you disrespected us like that and why would you embarrass the both of us and he continues to argue at us making us out to be bums so my boyfriend asked for the main manager’s name so he can be reported on, corporate will be hearing about this matter too! Unfortunately my boyfriend and I will not be eating here at that spires ANYMORE! SAUL completely embarrassed my be and I. We have been eating at that location for 3 yrs. He pissed me off with his attitude and he wears glasses always looks like he’s late on his orders yes you can blame him for humiliating us in front of the entire restaurant because he accused us of not paying for a meal which we did! and that he kept saying that he kept calling our cells! Never got a call ever! Thanks a lot Saul. You lost to customers to you’re crappy additude. Hope you’re happy.

Why does is Unilocal showing only 3.5 stars? GREAT healthy food, FAIR to low prices, VINTAGE décor. Spires is a chain restaurant that makes food BYHAND from FRESH ingredients. Most of the crap restaurants that idiots consider«good food» use frozen, processed food. Americans are unaware of how poisonous fake food can be. What is worse, it’s becoming difficult to find real food, especially affordable real food. The price of restaurant food includes the service of preparing it. Chain restaurants are only heating up frozen food, and still charging for preparing. This business is dying. There are only six locations left.

I personally like coming to restaurants like these because the interior has probably never been updated so I feel like I’m in a different state. Waited to be seated and the waitress said to follow her so we did, then she went to grab menus so we were still following her but she said to go ahead??? Anyhow, we got seated and ordered our beverages. Then we put in an order for a Cobb salad to share first. When the Cobb came out we put in our entrée orders. Club sandwich for me and garden burger for my mister. Cobb salad was good. I would have appreciated if it had some blue cheese crumbles on it but it was fine. We split our entrees. Garden burger was decent. Club sandwich was good. I ordered my sandwich with fries and he got fried zucchini. They only gave him 4 zucchini though. Technically two pieces cut in half. Stingy. Service was quick. Claw machine jipped me two dollars. Oh well. I’ll be back when I want to feel like I’m in another time. 3.5 stars.

Great classic food served here! Jessica is a great hostess. ;) honestly, this might be one of the only places in Orange County where you get to see people from all ages and backgrounds gather as a community. Go!

Denny’s was a passing thought. Arrived at 9:45 p.m. on a Weds night. Opened the door, saw the time, proceeded to walk out. Host walked outside and beckoned us to enter. Welcomed with open arms and huge smiles. Polite also! Food was great. Breakfast for the young lady. Eggs over easy, bacon, and french toast. Bacon and eggs were tasty,(How can anyone screw up eggs/bacon?) French toast tasted«weird.» Her words! Chicken(beef) fried steak, mashed potato’s w white gravy, green salad, and vege soup. All tasted great, but not my 1st time eating at Spires, and prefer it over Denny’s.

Love their club sandwich and fresh orange juice. All the other food you can get anywhere else for cheaper. Plus this place needs an upgrade.

What a great place. I was already having a good morning but after my experience here I know it’s going to be a great day. Darlene was the waitress who helped us, and she got our order in and delivered perfectly. The food was perfect temperature and very tasty. The restaurant is very clean and has lots of seating. Prices are cheap for the amount of food they give you. Check it out!

I’ve lived right next to this place for awhile and finally decided to check it out. I got breakfast and the crepes were amazing! Our server, Darlene, was very nice and our needs were met promptly. I would definitely come back here again. Prices are pretty low and the food is good.

This place really is awesome! The service is always great, their daily specials vary and are amazing quality at great prices. They really have some good food… everything from the burgers to pastas to ribs, steaks, pork chops and more. Comfort food at its BEST and at unbeatable prices! The boyfriend and I love this place! And they don’t judge when we come in super drunk lol

I don’t usually write reviews, but this particular location is awesome. Good customer service is rare nowadays but this place doesn’t lack it. Although it’s only spires, the weekly deals here are a bargain for a quick dinner. Tasty and fulfilling. Not sure how it is other days but I’m here on a Wednesday for dinner. The host and server are very cool people.

I don’t know why this place has only 3 stars?! Second time dining here and it did not disappoint. This place is an American diner which has a homely feel to it. They have daily specials until 10pm, which comes with soup, salad, bread, and dessert for under $ 10! We ordered the wed special which was country fried steak and house sirloin steak. I liked the country fried steak more and their gravy is so yummy! Great customer service too. This place is definitely better than Denny’s or Norm’s.

Okay priced decent American family diner. Spires is an old chain and still feels like an old chain. Good if you just want something simple and not too expensive. The staff is nice. I asked for extra salsa and jelly and they were good about refilling orders and being timely. We didn’t have to wait for anything. Still only 3 stars though cause the food was pretty whatever.

The menu states that Spires is the PINNACLE… the(mother f’n) PINNACLE of eating. That means that all other eating experiences are beneath it. Frightening that for the rest of my life, nothing will measure up to what I just ate. Why did I even go here? Well, Spires has a fond place in my heart. There used to be one by my house in Westminster when I was a kid… and I’m sure the food is exactly the same… but as a kid I remember it actually being good. I also used to think there was a monster who lived under my bed, and it somehow was unable to attack me if I hid under my blanket. This monster was also too stupid to find the breathing hole I left myself. So… yeah…Spires was AMAZING, I’m sure. And an odd little factoid for you: that monster grew up to be Sarah Palin. True story! But the best thing about my visit had to be the conversation I had with my waitress… this was awesome: Her: Welcome to Spires(very, very disinterestedly) Me: This is my first time here in like 25 years! Her: Wow. Welcome back, sir(sooooooo sarcastic… which I appreciated). Me: Ummmmm… ok…can you recommend any pies? Her: Not really. Me: You can’t recommend one? Her: No. Me: Why not? Her: I don’t like sweets. Me: OK(I’ll show her!)…what is one OTHER people commonly order, then. Her: I don’t know… apple?(probably hoping this would shut me up… she was wrong.) Me: Is it warm? Her: I guess it can be. Do you want it warm?(losing patience) Me:(Now, it’s my turn) I’m not sure. What would you do? Her: I don’t know. Warm? Me: Oooooook. I’ll get that. ***spoiler alert, it sucked.
