Came on Memorial day to buy chicken and flap meat for a bbq. The parking here is terrible and on this particular day extremely crowded. The store appears like it got a facelift since I was last here which is good. The bad part was that the quality of the meat went way down. The flap meat was $ 9 a pound and all of it was super thin. I threw it on the grill and it did not look appetizing as it looked like meat from the 99 cent store. The chicken was good however as was the chorizo so that saved the day. I remember a while back when the meat here was top notch. Now the Food 4 Less flap meat is better. Quite dissapointed with the experience and product and definitely feel ripped off. 2 stars for chicken and chorizo as they were good. Will not be coming here again.

GREATSERVICE. So im kind of obsessed with the food because it is prepared well and delicious. Went today, love the agua frescas, ice coffee, lastly, tortas, nopales, salsas, and guacamole are always good from the cocina. Love this store and the great employees.

Purchased a money order and had to return it because it was paid out to 3 people instead of 1. Went on Saturday they made copies of all papers said they would fix it Monday. I called on Monday Morning they placed me on hold for 7 minutes. I called back 4 times and no answer. I drove from my job during my lunch took me 20 minutes to get there and they said they couldn’t help me. I was very frustrated. Luckily my mom advised we go to another Northgate and it was taken care of in a matter of minutes. This location has very poor customer Service. Wont be going back…

Northgate markets is a great little place, it’s not your typical brand-name Ralphs or Albertsons. But you know what, it’s got deals galore! I usually stop by whenever I’m running low on my latin spices or if I’m ever in the neighborhood… I’ll make a quick stop in. There are a couple items that I love that are from here: Edmundo vino seco $ 2.99 — it truly is a bargain and the best cheap dry wine for all my ethnic/cuban/filipino dishes. Ground Cumin(the bulk container) $ 3.89 — yup that’s the price and at the grocery store you’ll pay for the McCormick version that’s smaller for double the price. Produce — It’s inexpensive and always a great price. For some odd reason, onions are part of the bad crop this year — and priced very high at all the grocery stores. Except here — you can get them here for .99 cents a pound. Limes — .99 cents for 2 pounds!(Grocery stores will have them for 2 for $ 1!) I bought strawberries for $ 5 — that’s the 4 pound container! They have all the hard to find spices, ancho chiles, pasilla chiles… something Bobby Flay would use and cook up with. It’s here. They also had squash blossom flowers, and those are hard to come across… but they had a bunch on sale for $ 3. Sweet deal. Meat selection — PERFECT for Taco nights! Get some queso fresco and some freshly baked tortillas, guacamole, crema, and maybe some Jarritos… you have yourself a Taco Party!!! Oh and they have chicharons, so salty and satisfying — you know you want some! I could go on and on, but it’s a great little store that I wish there was a closer location to my house… I’d save so much money on the little things here!

Alright, so I stepped in hear to get a few drinks for the road going back to San Francisco. As I was walking in, I notice the deli/to go area. I went to check it out. I am DEEPLY Impressed! All of the food, especially the Carnitas, they looked very Good! I regret not ordering some to go… The salsas looked very good as well. Basically all of the cooked meat look delicious! So as I walked into the main area, I saw that they have a large selection of fresh vegetables. I went straight to the drink area, I found a Pineapple Cider! Called Tepache. Wow! Never knew they existed. Then I went to the Juice isle and I found what I was looking for. Coconut Water! And it was the Extremely Good kind, with no preservatives! Each were 50 cents! WOW! They were called Amy & Brian, in a blue can. The cashier was Super Nice, and I notice a VERY Old School looking bull fighting painting hanging on top of the wall. That is Sweet! That totally adds to the Authenticity of this PLACE! I wish there was one near my house in SF! I will be Back HERE!!! And for the first time for me, They will take you to your CASA(Home) if you spend over a certain amount on groceries… over $ 50 I believe… That is Awesome and REVOLUTIONARY!!!
