Most of the BBQ here are traditional stuff, but what you really want to get are the Mici — Romanian Transylvania sausages. Taste like awesome breakfast sausages made for the streets!
Just past on their pasta salad because it’s just eh.

Very clean inside and nice customer service. I am always welcomed. Full size BBQ ribs are enough for 2 people, and it tastes yummy. Chicken wings is also tasty. I guess Coleslaw is Latin American style; it is not typical coleslaw that I know. I would like to come again.

They’re full rack of ribs puts other rib places to shame. You get plenty of food with the full rack. They typically give coleslaw and french fries, but I usually ask to sub out the coleslaw for their pasta salad. The coleslaw is good, different but I’m the only one that eats it so I get tired of it quickly.

The steak sandwich is the truth — flavorful, tender meat, on a soft grilled roll. It might been buttered but I don’t recall. The combo comes with a generous serving of crisp golden fries. I always ask for BBQ sauce to dip my sandwich and fries. The sauce a middle eastern taste and it works well with meet.
The service is always awesome, and the last time I was there, they gave us a full order of their Transylvanian sausage while we waited for our to-​go order. The sausage was also really good — full of flavor and juicy.
I’ve tried the ribs, and they were decent. I’m willing to give it another try.

Ok just to start off:
1. I see a lot of reviews that mention the fries, really? If you think the Fries at Giovannies are good then maybe you should not review any business on Unilocal considering the fact these are processed and frozen NOT FRESH so please lets be real here
2. Why the 5 star rating? well there is a number of factors:
1. Customer Service is Friendly and Helpful
2. The meats are well seasoned which is hard to find these days as most businesses try to cater to people without a pallet or sense of flavor
3. I have been eating here for a while and I have come quite fond of the food but I am still trying to leave a balanced review as I believe it is essential to look at food from all aspects.
Hope this helps some of you with your decisions
The few negatives I have would be: The dinning room tables could improve as well as the plates and presentation but overall for the price vs quality this place is a good buy.

This place was so good! We love Romanian food and the service was the best! Definitely recommend this restaurant if you want to try some great Romanian food!

pretty good BBQ but I was not blown away either. I was not expecting midwest type of BBQ flavor but I did not feel any of their meats or BBQ sauce were anything outstanding either.
Two of the biggest reason I rate this as 3 stars instead of 4+ is because the meat was not falling off the bone and it was warm at best, not hot as if it just came out of the grill /​smoker.
Is it good? yes
would I eat here again? yes (if I was in the neighborhood)
will I go out of my way to come back? no

Small neighborhood mom and pop place. Very nice people. Great service and amazing food. Will go back next time I’m in the area.

The flavor here is very different when compare to other bbq places. Definitely an influence in there somewhere.
Overall not bad but not amazing either.

Omg the food here is bomb!
Got the full rack of ribs with fries (enough to feed an army of midgits) and was blown away. My dad makes great ribs, but these were even better.
We also go the chicken. Mmmm juicy and delicious and came with 2 sides for like $ 10.
The lady was so welcoming and kind, such good and sincere service. Will definatley be back, I can’t wait!

After looking at the five-​star reviews, we figured we would try it out. As we walked in we were greeted by the owners. Very welcoming and nice people. We ordered ribs, steak strips and fettuccine. They gave samples of pasta salad which I enjoyed. The steak strips were really soft, tender and juicy. Followed by a really good flavor. Nothing too special about the ribs. They were good but I think they can make them better. Fettuccine was creamy and tasty. The fries they served were fresh. I was not a big fan of the coleslaw. It was a little different. Overall we might go back when we’re in the area.

Got the 4 meat combo and fries. It was very flavorful! The owners had an unexpected large party that came in just before me, so they were struggling to get stuff done. I had a little longer than expected wait, but I did not complain. Still, the owner brought out some complementary house-​made sausage and they took the fries off the bill. I thought that was very good of them to do.
The owners were nice and it was a good overall experience. I will eat there again and try their ribs!

Today I had a MAD craving for BBQ ribs. came across this restaurant which surprise me because it was so close to my home. First and pleasant surprise the place was very, very clean and simply inviting. I was greeted by the owner who is a very straight forward and pleasant guy, very laid back with great customer service skills. I ordered a ½ slab of pork BBQ ribs. Which came with fries and a nice and light shredded lettuce salad. Different twist but nice. When my ribs came I have to confess I was surprised. presentation was a 10. Tenderness was a 10 and the sauce was a 10. The only draw back I had, which I had a conversation with the owner about was I wish he made a spicy version of his BBQ sauce. He“s from another state where people are not into spicy food. So explained in California ALOT people loveeee spicy things. So he assured me he is going to make a spicy version and I assured him I’m for sure returning. and if you find yourself in the area please stop in and try. I wish him all the best of success. While I was there he was cooking up some sausages, ummmm smelt and looked so good.

I wanted to like this place… But sadly it wasn’t that great. With the 5 star reviews, I guess my expectations were higher.
Customer service was very friendly and they gave my friends and I samples of the pasta salad which was really good.
When we arrived, the lady mentioned we came at the right time because the ribs just came out of the smoker so we were even more excited.
We ordered a full rack of ribs and the streak straps combo.
The steak strips came out room temperature and we had to ask them to reheat it up. The flavor was good but since they had to reheat the steak, it became well done. The fries were good though. The coleslaw was different, it’s not the typical creamy sauce. I wasn’t too fond of it.
When the ribs arrived, the bones were not hot or warm… But the meat was warm… Which is weird… I thought it just came out of the smoker? The meat was good, fall of the bone but the bbq sauce was weird… It’s not your typical bbq sauce… Maybe it’s their spin on their own bbq sauce? Anyways, I wasn’t too fond of it.
The only thing that came out piping hot was the fries. We asked for them to be well done and they came out perfect. That was highlight of our meal. Overall, I was disappointed with our meal.
The restaurant itself was very clean though! I don’t think I’ll be back though.

So, based on the Unilocal reviews, I decided to give this place a try. Ordered the chicken fettucini and transylvania sausage…
Chicken Fettucini — The cream sauce and noodles were decent, nothing special. However, the chicken was grilled, and grilled it was to perfection. Perfectly moist, nice char marks and super flavorful. Most places serve you just average chicken that is overwhelmed in the sauce and noodles, but here… the chicken is the star of the dish, and the average cream sauce and noodles kind of help in that way as they don’t overwhelm the chicken. I give it 4 stars.
Transylvania Sausage– Never heard of this dish, but it looked interesting. Served with a nice soft bread and some mustard, I must say it was quite good. Definitely different… nothing that’s going to jump out at you with big spice, but flavorful nonetheless. A solid 4 stars.
They also gave me a sample of their pasta salad, and it was also quite good. Nice balance of flavors, and not too vinegary.
This place is super clean, has good service, etc. I’ll definitely be back to try more things off the menu, particularly the BBQ ribs. It’s not often you find italian places specialzing in BBQ ribs, so that will be a mustr try for me next. So far so good for Giovannis.

Just as other reviewers have mentioned, this place is CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN!
I did take-​out, and I was fed sooo much while I waited, I was full by the time I left for home!
Steak sandwich was to die for. I am a huge fan of sausages, and the Transylvanian sausages were heavenly and rank in the top five I’ve ever eaten. When I go back to Alaska, I’m picking up about 5 pounds frozen before flying out of John Wayne Airport! These are not a pretentious sausage in term of spices. But they don’t have skins (if you aren’t particularly fond of them), and they grill so well without those stupid things!
They make their own bread that has the best crust/​crumb I have ever tasted/​chewed. I have friends who would KILL to be able to make their bread taste/​chew like Giovanni’s does.
Ribs were amazing! Ditto with the cabbage rolls (special for the day).
Order in advance if you’re doing take-​out. Everything is prepped and cooked at the time of ordering. You won’t be disappointed.

Damn good grub here. People are super friendly. Steak sandwich is BOMB and the ribs are good too. Definitely going back for another steak sandwich.

There are a few places these days where you can eat home made food that actually tests like it; this is one of those.
They have THE BEST SOUP in town and the stake sandwich, is a revelation in your mouth. In other words, their food will take you back home !
Make sure to try the Transylvanian sausages; the taste is like you never had before. Go check it out !!!

Just tried this place about a week ago and their steak sandwich was sooooo good! The steak is cooked to perfection and is super juicy! We also had their meatball soup and that was very delicious as well. I can’t wait to come back and try their ribs and eventually the rest of their menu
