So this is not the fanciest place in Anaheim to grab tacos… it’s literally a whole in the wall. On weekdays the music is blaring loud out of a cheap speaker. but it’s good music so I really don’t mind. This spot has been here for as long as I could remember, my mom brought me here as a child for carnitas and moronga. OMG! The tacos are huge and packed with meat I love the maciza and birria tacos, one of each and your are set. They prepare them with two layerd regular size tortillas, so basically two tacos in one… the salsa is not that great and the cilantro and cebolla mix can use a little more cilantro. Overall it’s a good little place that I like paying a visit to every now and then. Yes, the lady taking the orders can use a little brushing up on her social skills, but other than that I’ve always had a good experience.

My dear paisano. This are great tacos de cueritos(besides other things), every time I come it’s nothing but great flavor like in the Rancho. Come and taste Michoacan Style Carnitas; there’s other items and you can see them in my pictures. $The price it’s just right$ if I give 5 stars is because the tacos are served with lots of meat and the flavor is real. On summer they’re lots of moscas all around but I try to avoid summer. This is December 2015 and it’s nice to come a have a good lunch. Did I mention that they serve LOTS of meat per taco?

Damn best Mexican food I have ever had. The carnitas are to die for. I went with my cousin and the second we walk in there was music playing. I started to bob my head with out even knowing it. I really love the salsa.
Definitely a hole in the wall spot. The place does not have A/C, but a bunch of fans everywhere. Not a great place fo a hot day. Very cramp space, but I am here for the tacos and not the ambiance. The salsa is amazing. The red sauce is spicy, BEWARE. The green is good to, but not as spicy. For $ 1.89 per taco, it’s pretty pricey compared to the competition, but they really load it up here. Three tacos and I was full. Carnitas was bomb, thick cuts and moist. Chorizo is not the cheap stuff. It’s in links and not the mushing kind. The spices are delicious and savory. Buche, OMG get the buche. It’s so good. Quality is on point. It doesn’t smell or have a musky taste. OMGSOGOOD. Overall the place is amazing, the food is on point and they take pride it what they do. I love the fact that is loud and you can here the ladies in the back chopping away at the meats.

Horrible. Just horrible. Shall I count all the things that are wrong this place. Went there for Friday lunch time with co-workers. 1) They ran our of carnitas. REALLY??? Carnitas is in your name and there should be a good supply during peak times. 2) There was one person behind the counter and it took forever to be served. 3) Asked for iced tea bc there was a Pepsi dispenser, it didn’t work.(not surprised) 4) Ordered the chorizo burrito. Chorizo was stale. How can you go wrong with chorizo!?! 5) The place is dirty, disorganized and meat is sitting under heat lamps, obviously for hours. Needless to say, I will never return. Just go next door to Subway. That is my honest opinion.

Easily the best carnitas I have had in Anaheim thus far. The owner here is the sister of the owner of the famous taqueria in Santa Ana that bears the same name. The same family recipe, therefore, is used to prepare the braised pork. What makes the carnitas so good here? The meat has a nice flaky crust but the inside is moist, tender, smoky and seasoned just right: not too salty or overpowering with garlic, onions and herbs. Very generous portions of meat are piled high and slabbed on to tacos or burritos. If ordering carnitas, patrons can order it mixed with other parts of the cooked pig or just the meat itself, which is usually the pork shoulder. This is traditional Mexican preparation as its core. Pork slowly simmered in its own fat guarantees full flavor but no doubt loads of calories per serving too. This may not, therefore, be for those that gets squeamish about consuming lard or the health conscious. Other meat options, including asada and barbacoa, are probably too good to be considered an afterthought, if they are as good as those prepared at the Santa Ana location. But make no mistake, most are here for the tasty carnitas. For only $ 2.30, one taco in itself can be a full meal. For some perspective, just one taco here is like ordering four tacos at King Taco or Taqueria El Atacor. Customers will undoubtedly get their money’s worth. Indoor dining is a bit limited because there are at least five tables that seat eight, so unless you and the already seated party are willing to share any empty spots, plan to order to-go because it gets packed during lunch time. Even if there is an empty seat, the grease laden tables may discourage some from dining in. This would probably be my only gripe about the place.

Be warned(or blessed depending on your mood), the tacos are HUGE! Most«authentic» Mexican restaurants I’ve been to make tacos with those small 4″ tortillas, this place uses the large 6″ and piles on the meat! I was hungry and ordered two… I could only finish one. The meat was high quality and cooked well… but it needed salt or something. It was bland. I prefer the carnitas and tomatio salsa from the Northgate Market around the corner. I’m sure I’ll be back if I am in the area. I just don’t understand all the 4 and 5 stars. I’m thinking that a lot of people equate«bargain» or «quantity» with«quality.» I don’t, hence 3 stars.

Wanna know a secret? It’s this place. It doesn’t get more real than here. If you want to go somewhere pretty, then go to El Torito. But if you’re wanting the best, most authentic, and fantastic Mexican food in So. Cal, eat here. Seriously, this restaurant makes the best carnitas, which is rendered joints of whole hog slow-cooked in giant copper vats-similar to how the French do it with duck confit, but on a grander scale. What happens from this cooking process is that you get this tender, juicy, salty, warm, melt-in-your-mouth, flavorful meat. As you can tell, their carnitas is an epicurean masterpiece. If you’re ordering meat by the pound, make sure you include some of that pork skin. The stuff they sell at the Mexican markets doesn’t compare to Carnitas Uruapan. Next up is the birria de chivo, which is goat slow-cooked with spices. Again, it’s all about how tender, moist, and flavorful the meat is. This meat stuffed into a taco or with their consommé is-beautiful. This restaurant isn’t typical of your average taqueria/meat market due to the variety of what they sell. You’re also going to find tripas, barbacoa, chorizo, and stuffed stomach on display among other specialties. Again, freaking outrageous and unbelievable awesome food. Like, oh my freaking gosh. It’s a small chain with another located on Euclid in Anaheim. I used to go to the one on Orangewood since I was a kid. That one closed down because the city of Anaheim bought the shopping center there to build a school. So, now I go to the other locations. Living in Cali., I’ve been to many Mexican restaurants with my friends. I’ve been to a few in Mexico, too. This place beats all of them. Come early because the meat runs out fast. Bön apatite!

This Restaurant was a horrible restaurant. Me and my family were racially discriminated by the lady that works there. She served everyone that was of the same or similar ethnicity before us when we ordered our meal first. We ordered the same thing as everyone else and even ordered it to go. People that were dining in left before we were served. I do not recommend dining at this restaurant.

I couldn’t even be in this place– The onions from the back were making my eyes water at the front counter. I ordered three tacos of different meat types– I never order carne asada! They all had potential, but what they also had was a ton of fat, big slimy chucks of fat mixed in with the meat– Barbacoa could’ve been awesome. I can’t come back here, because the issues I had weren’t one off’s. Sorry I’ll wait till I get back to La Habra or atleast commonwealth!

Meat by the pound is what they do best. Go early, they make one batch and sell it until it runs out. My father took me and we went for cueritos, softly fried pig skin. They did not have it. We ended up having tacos of carnitas. The Sunday afternoon I went it was clean, the service was efficient and the carnitas were a paradise of pork. Please note that this probably as authentic as it gets. Red salsa was delicious. Did not try the green.

The whole place is just unorganized, tons of meat just sitting in heating pans, and to top it all off, flys everywhere!!! No Air Conditioning, and nothing memorable in food. Never again.

Like another reviewer stated, They seem to pick who they want to serve and others you just have to wait. I ordered a few tacos to go and they served person after person until I was the only one left. Then they proceeded to comment on it ” …now he’s mad! better make him his tacos now!” In fairness it might be because I ordered tacos and others just ordered pounds of meat. But still, service was terrible and when I got home, the carnitas where only ok. Nothing to drive me back and go through the whole ordeal again. Roll the dice if you feel lucky, but the food was only meh.

Awesome carnitas, the closest to the one’s that I had in Uruapan in Mexico when I lived in the OC this was my go to place for carnitas, service is iffy but the food more than makes up for it, I have not found any better
