The most insultive and disregarded respect for loyal customers by the new manager, Patrick Faaten, ever! Have been going here for fourteen years-love the booths in the sport bar area. Waiters and waitresses, bar tenders all know myself and my good friend, who live two miles away & have been coming here for 14 years! But tonight this new manager ensured we will NEVER return by his rude, dictator style of instructions to remove us from the bar area because he’s implemented a new rule without it being posted that guest NOW need to sign-in and wait for bar area seating!!! Note: I was standing next to a table that needed cleaning for ten minutes and not one employee informed me of this new policy! When we attempted to give him a response, he became that much more ruder and asked us to leave the seats! Enjoyed the Lunch Express meal with the chips and salsa on my son’s birthday. I enjoyed the Rafael’s special and my wife and son got the shredded beef tacos. My son got a FREE birthday flan and the servers sang him the happy birthday song out loud. Everything was great except for the slow service to get the food and refills.

My husband comes from a huge family that loves to eat out on a regular basis. They decided to come here and change things up from their usual Mexican restaurant they normally go to. Our group was about 35 people, and we were lucky to be accommodated without a reservation. Our group was given to waiters to tend to our party. For the most part everything went well. The service was good and all of the servers were very attentive towards us. I’m only giving this restaurant two stars because unfortunately the food was not good. Nothing tasted extraordinary or even out of the ordinary. I guess you can’t really mess up a cheese Enchilada but the Chili Rellenos they served us was not good. At the end of the night we ended up spending over $ 400 and none of us were really that happy with our meal. Unfortunately there’s not really a good Mexican restaurant in this area so we are going to have to suck it up or be prepared to drive out of our way to get a yummy meal. Big let down :-(

Just … Blech! Soooo many other options way below this price point. Save your money or spend an extra ten at El Torito and get a margarita.

Really really watered down Mexican food. My wife and I didn’t like anything we ordered. Service was slow and didn’t ask why either of us finished our food.

Been coming here my whole life. This is your standard family Mexican joint, the food is pretty good and the service is always courteous and SUPER quick… Sit by the bar and have a few drinks and the food will be that much better!

What happened. The food was good last time I was here. It wasn’t expensive. Now the food isn’t that good and has become more expensive. Very disappointed.

Don Jose’s Mexican Restaurant has always been a great place to get something to eat. A large building that has PLENTY of seating, the food is delicious and the people are very nice. It’s also nice to walk into and eat at a clean restaurant. The only thing I didn’t care about was one person in our group and warm food not hot. Every time I go to Don Jose’s it’s always been hot and delicious! The other thing is, they said that the salsa is mild, but it still bothers my tongue. That is not mild. That’s more like a low medium. Other than that, It’s always been good. Good food, good clean restaurant, clean bathrooms and very friendly staff. That’s what keeps me going. Well, mostly the great tasting fajitas!

Trying this place out on a recon mission for future after church Sunday brunch. SMH. Asked before we came in at 1:45 if we were too late for brunch which ends at 2. Was totally waived in and told oh sure no problem. We asked when we sat down how the champagne works and quote: bottomless. We were poured our first glass. We order food and wait. Then we were told that they stop pouring champagne at two… What? Well they may continue pouring until 2:10. And then were told the champagne is only 2 maybe 3 glasses by the same person. So we sorta slammed that first one. We were poured a second. Our food comes and we were poured a third but told this is the last one last bottle for the restaurant. So we are all sitting there half way through our meal with no champagne. Having run a similar business I asked to speak with the manager who came over. Basically that is their policy even though we explained all of the above and that it sort of false advertising. He did say that people at front should be explaining the policy. He opened a bottle poured our three glasses and left with the bottle. He did apologize. It was at the end of the brunch when we got there so it was no surprise that the carnitas was dry and the potatoes were soggy. But forget about the poached eggs which were basically hard boiled through a poaching process.

Quality Mexican food. Can never go wrong with the red cheese enchilada plate. Their beans are my all-time favorite of ANYWHERE, sooo delicious!

We’ve been here just a couple of times. Monday night was raining and we hadn’t planned anything for dinner. Wanted something very close and this location is quite literally around the corner and we had a coupon. I ordered the flautas, my daughter had the taco salad. The taco salad was good, but ridiculously large. She barely ate ½ of it. I didn’t like the flautas at all. When I think of flautas, I think of fat taquitos; nice and crispy with guacamole and sour cream for dipping. These were smothered with some kind of sauce and were soggy and a little tough to cut with a knife. We will probably go back, but maybe share the taco salad. One of my biggest pet peeves when dining out is when the server picks up the tab, I’m paying cash, and they ask«Do you want change?» Well, she did. Of course I wanted change. I wasn’t going to tip her $ 17. Servers and restaurant managers, please stop doing this. It is way more polite to say«I’ll be right back with your change.» Then I can either say«Thank you» or «you can keep the change.»

Ordered cheese enchiladas with onions added. Had so many onions in them that I couldn’t eat it. Disgusting and someone in that kitchen has no clue about amounts. Literally there were more onions in them than all the other ingredients combined. I probably won’t return at the price we paid for the meal. Tell the cooks to wake up.

Dear Mr Jose, I’ve grown up eating here and other Don Jose locations… You had good cheap food! NOW it’s expensive cheap food… but I see you maintain the throw up in the parking lot and make sure not to disturb the decades of grime everywhere else… Thanks

Wow! What’s happened here? Margarita mix is terrible, I had Combo And food was only warm. Salsa had no heat. Chips were great which gives 2 stars. Better fix margaritas! No good to have a Mexican food restaurant with poor margaritas

We go here about once a month. I always enjoy the food. Mexican food is my favorite. Started with strawberry margaritas. I had two. Tasted great but not much booze in them. I had the flautus. Very good. Liz had street tacos and Roan had fajitas. They both enjoyed their food. Service was fine. Only three stars because is not much special. They have good food. Reminds me of the old Red Onion. Nothing wrong with them. Go there, enjoy a Cadillac and some good food

Been going to Donny’s for about 20 years now. It never gets old. Just good, greasy Mexican food. Love their cheese and chicken enchiladas… Plus the Adiós Amigo drink does work. :P

I was craving Mexican food but we didn’t have too many options around the area. Taquitos especial($ 11.75): crispy chicken taquitos with cheese, guacamole red chile sauce, refried beans and rice. The taquitos were so bland! I only ate half a taquito and the cheese on top of my beans. Complimentary chips and salsa. I was so hungry and I ate the chips. Service was polite but not attentive. The waiter asked how we were doing but walked away before we answered him. 1 star! Don Jose is not yummylicious!!!

I don’t get the appeal of this place. Maybe it’s an alright place to get a margarita and mediocre happy hour food, but beyond that, why? We hadn’t visited a Don Jose in probably seven years, but BF’s family wanted to come here last night so we met them. His mother thinks the food is «fantastic.» I make better Mexican food than Don Jose. The chips and salsa were alright. The salsa is pretty mild, very chunky, lots of onions. They were pretty good about refilling the chips. For dinner I had the Arroz con Camarones Y Pollo, which is: Marinated tender shrimp and boneless breast of chicken sautéed with peppers and chiles in a mild jalapeño garlic butter. Served on a bed of Mexican rice and topped with our Red chile sauce and olives. Tortillas served upon request. I did not have to request my tortillas, they came with the meal. The food literally all tasted the same. Aside from picking up on different textures, I would have not known what I was eating. How can chicken and shrimp and rice and vegetables all taste the same? The only distinguishing flavor was the canned black olives dumped all over the dish, which honestly didn’t pair well with whatever other bland flavor I was experiencing. It needed spice, it needed salt. It needed to taste like the description, and it didn’t. I will say it was a lot of food for $ 15. I brought half of it home, but soon realized I will probably never get around to eating it. I hate to say this, but I think I would rather go to El Torito.
