Giving Brownstone one star for the simple reason that they consistently keep screwing with the customers by pushing back their re-opening date. First of all, it’s taken almost a year for this place to even get anywhere close to coming back and all throughout the fall/winter/spring details about their return were sketchy at best. Currently, it’s more of the same nonsense. Not kidding, they’ve «set a date» to reopen, posted it on the web, and then pushed it back again about 4x now. It’s obnoxious. The food is great, don’t get me wrong… but stop doing this to loyal customers. Simply say the re-open date is TBD and be done with it. I’m getting sick of the run around.

This place needs to open back up ASAP because I’m dying for their coffee and yummy brunch. The cinnamon pancakes were delicious, a little too heavy though definitely worth a share! Eggs Benedict– bangin! Breakfast platter– too die for I wish they would add some more tables so it’s less of a wait though!

Was extremely mad to drive all the way to this«amazing breakfast spot» to find out they were closed. Google, and their website said they were open. What am I supposed to call every restaurant I want to go to before I head out of the house. How was I supposed to know it had a fire? Annoyed.

Pros: Omelettes Home fries French toast bites(aka, deep fried bite-sized pieces of french toast) Coffee Ambiance Menu — variety — decisions, decisions Friendly service Cons: The wait! especially on a weekend. Just come during the weekday if you can, or come early enough on the weekend where the wait isn’t that bad. You can order coffee to go and sip as you wait.

This is your typical trendy breakfast joint. Fortunately the prices are pretty fair and the food is actually really good. So I’d say it’s worth a try and a great place to go for breakfast(with maybe 1 – 2 other people as it’s fairly small inside). Wait times were long when I went so leave some time to build up an appetite, don’t wait until you’re already super hungry. Just some advice… there were a lot of whiny people waiting on line. I like to call the pancakes and french toast they serve here«designer» pancakes or french toast. They come in all sorts of flavors and kinds. And the people who eat them usually complain and whine a lot. So many brands around today… pancakes are so hot right now. But they look and taste good right? So yeah I personally stick to the omelets and such. But who doesn’t like bread and candy for breakfast? Whatever you like, they probably have something here you’ll dig.

**GOODFOODANDEXCELLENTSERVICE** My mom loves this place and I took her here for her birthday. It’s a cute little restaurant and when I told our server that I didn’t eat meat or dairy she did not even flinch — I got an enormous and delicious vegan salad that gave me plenty of energy for the rest of the day’s birthday festivities. I would recommend this place and wish them well with their repairs and re-opening!

The positives: It’s a mom and pop place. The waiters and waitresses are kids from town. The owners live in town. The food is amazing. Plus, they brew a great cup of coffee. It’s not the business they are looking for, but I love sneaking in and getting a «to go» cup of coffee.(Their toasted coconut seems to be a daily special. .. and I love it.). Insider Tip: Parking lot is small. Brownstone’s is VERY popular on weekends. If you can, go during the week. If Brownstones is 5 stars on a Saturday, it is six stars on a Tuesday when the kids are back in school!

No matter what day you can come, it’s always busy. However, they always tell you longer than I will be. The food was decently priced for such a «in» place to be. I had the short stack of pancakes and they were really good. It was not too much or too little food. The perfect amount. The hot chocolate was amazing. So delicious and the waitress was decent. I wish I remembered her name.

Food: Awesome. Service: Awesome. Only legitimate complaint: the size of this place and the average wait duration for a table ~ 40 minutes, and the tables are pretty tightly packed next to each other. I guess it’s a great sign that it’s in such high demand! The French toast bites — any variety are boderline addicting. And the BLT sandwich with avocado is killer. Never had a bad cup of coffee from his place either. Love it, simply wish it was more accessible.

Oh my god how I wish I lived closer to Brownstones… I’m about 45 minutes away and have made the drive out several times because this place is just too good. I’ve even been here 2 days in a row. No exaggeration, it’s that good. I’ve recently discovered my love for breakfast/brunch food and Brownstones has quite the selection. They’re famous for their french toast bites and for good reason. The cinnamon swirl pancakes are equally delicious. Every time I go, I have trouble deciding what to order because I just want it ALL. The coffee and tea selection is impressive as well. I always get the caramel macchiato and it never disappoints. They have a high regard for appearance — from the décor to food presentation to the coffee — and it definitely serves them well. It’s homey and beautiful in there, and the waitresses are friendly and efficient. Only down side is that given it’s popularity, there is usually a bit of a wait, especially on weekends. However, if you come earlier(9−10am) it’s usually not very long. Also, the lot is small but there’s street parking as well. Come to Brownstones with high expectations and prepare to have every single one of them met. That is all.

CG and I came for brunch on the 4th to a decent crowd huddled outside. Wait was quoted at ½ hour which wasn’t so bad considering the holiday. We were seated in a little over 20 minutes. Coffee here is decent. Pretty smooth. No complaints. We decided to each get an omelette(I had the garden veggie) and split an order of the highly regarded french toast bites. The omelette contains broccoli, tomatoes, peppers and onions and comes with a side of toast. It was pretty standard, nothing memorable. I wish the ingredients were seasoned a bit, and also wish I had asked them to add some cheese to tie it together better. The french toast bites were as excellent as everyone says. Crisp bites that were not too sweet, with a fluffy, moist center. The fresh mixed berries and bananas were plentiful too and made for a beautiful plate. We devoured this. Def. order! Price is pretty good for the amount of food provided. A return trip in the future? Likely.

Went in with high expectations because according to Unilocal, this is the place to be if you’re in the mood for brunch. We went in on a Sunday morning so of course there was a half hour wait. No big, they give you a buzzer and you settle on a sunny bench around the side of the restaurant. Restaurant & Service: This restaurant is small and since everyone knows how busy it gets, it can be quite loud. So the whole time the brunching ladies next to us were half into any conversation we were having. They were nice so it was fine but if I was seated next to some really annoying people that would definitely effect my experience. We were seated in the separate room and our waitress was not very present. She forgot our waters and fifteen minutes later, when politely asked again responded«I know, I’m getting them now.» Seemed a bit rude. I observed that all the other servers were very attentive and friendly and our waitress perked up a bit at the end(not sure if it was because she realized we had Unilocal deals), maybe she was having a bad day. Food & Drink: We ordered a Mocha Latte and Caramel Machiatto. They were insanely delicious and beautiful. I asked for half the syrup and it was just perfection. And a dollar off each made it taste even better. We split the Fruit Pancakes and I ordered the Spankofrittatta and my bf ordered the Eggs Benedict Scramble: My Spankofrittatta was absolutely delicious and HUGE. The eggs were packed with delicious ingredients and bursting with flavor, the balsamic drizzle really put a special touch. Why haven’t I ever put balsamic on my eggs before?! Because I’m an idiot. Seriously, I wonder how many eggs were in that thing, it fed me for two days. The Eggs Benny was delish, the hollandaise sauce was so creamy, tangy and rich. My bf said he missed the runny yolk, but it was still amazing. And AGAIN, the serving was just huge. Came with crispy potatoes. The Fruit Pancakes came out packed with blueberries and was decorated with some fresh fruit on top and a heaping dollop of buttah. They were actually not great, didn’t stand out to me, but they were fine pancakes. I really can’t see myself getting anything but that Spankofrittatta, I would love to come back and try a pot of tea. Perhaps if I can get in there on a weekday, when it’s less busy.

This place is just straight up good. There is almost always a wait, which isn’t an issue when the weather is nice, but when it’s raining or cold, expect to be crushed inside in the tiny waiting area. Their coffee is supposedly good, I don’t drink it, but friends and family do. Their omelettes are good, as are the french toast bites, i’m always craving them, but won’t eat them as a meal. I’m always tempted to try one of their burgers as they look, delicious, and smell almost as good. This is a must try.

I found this place on Unilocal, and I love coffee so I had to try it out! My friend and I came on a Saturday at around 1PM, there was a 45 minute wait. We decided to wait it out and was definitely worth it. After we were seated our waitress, was really great. We ordered a pot of blooming tea, all the teas are the same white tea. The flower is just different. We shared the french toast bites with the nutella fondue. And my friend ordered the baked crêpe of decadence, and I ordered the eggplant panini. The food was great. We really enjoyed the french toast bites! I actually loved the other sauce, I believe it was raspberry. The tea was a bit of a disappointment, I have had white tea before and this wasn’t all to great. After the tea, we also decided to order lattes, I ordered the caramel macchiato and my friend got a caffe latte. I loved the caramel macchiato, especially with the layers and the size of the coffee was great too! I was so stuffed from the food, but I managed to finish my coffee. Our waitress was great and all the food was brought out promptly minimal waiting time for that. Besides the over all wait time and the tea this was a great experience and I will definitely becoming back.

It takes a lot for me to give a place 5 stars, so you know this place is good. We got there about 1:30−2pm on a Saturday. There was no wait what so ever, even if we had to wait it wouldn’t have been more then 15 minutes. We were greeted within 3 minutes of being seated, asking for our drink order. We weren’t ready so she came back 5 minutes later. I got an iced coffee, and my fiancé got one of their teas, iced. They were both really good. Food came out reasonably fast. I got the Raisin and Apricot cream cheese, stuffed French Toast, topped with Pecans. I didn’t even need syrup, and was only able to eat half of it. So good! My fiancé got the Sterling Place panini, and he loved it. Came with a lot of Turkey, and the pasta salad was amazing as well. He compared it to our #1 Sandwich place and he ranked it up there with it. We also got a Peanut Butter Cup Latte to go. We should’ve gotten our own instead of sharing it was that good. Service was amazing, food was amazing, wait time was amazing. Décor was amazing. I can over look the«having a hard time to find parking» issue.” 5 stars. They also seemed to have another dining room, I believe. Otherwise this place is on the small side but not very cramped. Will be returning.

Brownstones! So, let’s get the negatives out of the way. First, the parking lot — don’t even bother. Make the left directly after Brownstones and then the right into the next parking lot where Five Guys is to avoid agita over parking, and to guarantee yourself a sweet spot. Second, the wait time for even a small group(3 people each time I have come) will have you cramped in the small waiting area for a good 45 minutes. HOWEVER… the food is really delicious here. I like their chai tea lattes, very good. And both times I have gotten the Casino Spa omelette — one of the healthier choices. Egg whites, mozzarella, asparagus. Served with a side salad. But, I swapped for home fries because… home fries. I wouldn’t have gotten this twice if it wasn’t good, folks! And the last time we were here, my girlfriends and I shared the French toast bites. WHOA! Amazing. Perfection. And just the right amount of sweetness. Delectable little morsels from Heaven served with fresh blueberries, bananas, raspberries and strawberries and a touch of powdered sugar with maple syrup on the side. They give you SO much. I don’t know how anyone can eat this all on their own, between the three of us there was still a few bites left. Then again, we did all clean our actual meal plates, so that could be why too. I definitely recommend the French toast bites for sharing, you won’t be sorry. The décor is nice and cozy, especially if you get seated in the side room that is separated by a glass door, much quieter. Brownstones, can’t wait to return for another delicious breakfast/brunch. They also have a standard lunch menu, but I have yet to try it out.

Not only is is quaint and amazingly decorated, but the food is fabulous! The lattes are great, with a few sugar free syrup choices. The frittatas, potatoes, omelets and everything else on the menu is just amazing! They have lunch too! The friendly staff will serve you in a timely manner. The staff knows the menu and makes great suggestions of you can’t decide! It is a must try! And must come back too! Five stars from me for sure!

Brownstones is the best breakfast and brunch café that I’ve been to on Long Island. I highly recommend the Brownstone omelette. The eggs light, creamy, and delicious. It’s perfectly salted. The potatoes and hickory smoked bacon make for a hearty filling. The dish comes with homes fries and fruit. The home fries are put the dish over the top. You must order the home fries if your dish does not come with them. The home fries are outstanding. They’re perfectly seasoned and crisped. It was pleasant to finish off this extremely fulfilling breakfast with s couple pieces of fresh fruit. The coffee here is excellent too. I had an americano; it is very good, and it does not require any additives. This is the place to go for breakfast or brunch. Excellent food. Solid coffee. An awesome staff. And a cozy atmosphere.

I didn’t believe that this place was going to live up to my expectations, but it sure did! I went on a weekday around 12pm and had to wait over an hour to be seated. The place was a madhouse; but I was determined to stay because of all the good things I heard. My friends and I were seated in the side room which is a lot more cozy than the main dining area(however the whole place is super kitschy and I loved it). The service was great and the waitress was very attentive. I had a coffee while I was waiting to be seated and ordered a caramel apple spice when I sat down to eat. My whole table shared an order of french toast bites which had amazing fresh berries all over it. If I had enough room in my stomach I would have finished the whole thing myself it was so good. I also ordered«The Scramble» for myself, which I am safely going to say is the best omelet I have had in all my 23 years. I am more than satisfied with my experience! Next time I go I’ll make sure to go early.
