Zoom Tan

This particular Zoom location is the best that I have been to, in terms of spray tan quality. They all have different kinds of spray tan machines, for whatever reason, and this location’s machines are the most in-​depth. They have you stand in 6 different positions and talk you through each step to help ensure that you get the most even spray tan. Other locations have like 2 positions and it just spits out the spray tan onto you unevenly in little specks that literally leaves you looking like you have a million freckles, seriously.
I used to have a spray tan package at zoom tan for $ 40 a month. Before I got the package, I would go whenever I received the «$ 1» spray tan text message, but they always ended up being like $ 5, so who knows why they wouldn’t just say that in the text, but its a difference of $ 4 so who really cares.
Since I found this location and loved going here weekly, my boyfriend decided to get me the package for Christmas. This is where the stars start coming off. They wouldn’t allow him to put his credit card on my account to pay monthly, they said my card had to be on the account so the names matched. How ridiculous is that? I had to give them my debit card, and then on the 1^st of every month he had to give me $ 40 to put in my account. What if he was my sugar daddy and I literally had no money to my name besides what he gave to me? I know that’s a little extreme, but in the case of, say, a stay at home mom, who’s bank information is in her working husband’s name, is she just SOL at zoom tan because her payment isn’t physically in her name? It’s one of those «policies» that are «policies» only because the company needed to say they have a «policy.»
On several occasions, I would come here after work and there would be a little bit of a line, which is understandable because this location is right by UB, so I assume students frequent there a lot. Groups of girls would come in together, and the cashier would stand and shoot the shit with them all (I guess they were all friends), and that left us strangers waiting behind them for way longer than we had to. On one instance, the employee literally had one of the girls in front of me go next door for her to buy her some frozen yogurt while the rest of us waited in line at a standstill until she finished her pow-​wow/​snack break with her group of friends. I was waiting there for 2 hours that night for a 5 minute spray tan. Had she recognized that maybe it would be more convenient for the group of 5 girls to wait for me (1 person) to spray and therefore let me go before them, than it was for me to wait for 5 girls to spray before me (1 person) then maybe this part of the review would be left out. But nope, I sat there for 2 hours waiting, and listening to their agonizing stories of the parties they attended the weekend before until I was allotted the privilege of my spray tan– oh, to be young again. (And to answer the question one of the girls kept asking each of her friends separately, yes you look dumb if he’s still hanging out with Michelle, too).
I gave 3 stars because I like the quality of the tan I get at this location specifically, but as you can guess I feel that their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Zoom Tan seems to be a company that is in the business of conveniencing themselves, instead of conveniencing the customer. (I know, that’s not a real word).

Absolutely do not go. I moved away two months ago and called in to cancel my membership they refuse to cancel it unless I come in in person. Still charging me after 2 months of no use. Corporate is very rude about this as well. Customer service is absolutely lacking here. They make every step as difficult and awkward as they can. DO NOT GO!!!

Got the winter blues!!! This frigid Buffalo weather making you a little crazy!!! Stop in and get a spray tan or a UV tan. The spray tan is amazing! You can choose from a clear spray that shows up several hours later or get an instant bronze spray that shows up immediately. I personally prefer the clear. Their state of art booths and product give excellent results for a glowing look. The place is extremely clean and well kept. The personnel are very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgable making it for a wonderful experience.
