My daughter has been at Nellie’s since she was 3 months old. From the first day I dropped her off till now, as she prepares for Kindergarten, I have been very happy with the care they have provided for her. Was it perfect? Absolutely not. She was my first baby at 39, and I was very nervous and probably a little over protective. From the start, I felt like I had good open communication with the staff, director and owner. When I had a concern, I spoke with her teachers and addressed things as they came up. The nursery was loving, and inviting. She was very well taken care of, but more importantly she was loved from day one. It is something I could feel. Over the years, there have been changes in staffing, changes in rooms, and changes in my little baby girl. The best part of Nellie’s is that it feels like family. All the teachers know all of the kids by name, even if they are in other classrooms. I know this can be a tiring job, but the staff always has a smile, hug, and an excited greeting for the kids. My oldest daughter is in Pre-K. She is well prepared academically, socially and emotionally to start Kindergarten thanks to the wonderful staff at Nellies. My youngest daughter attends pre-school there, as well, and started as in infant in the Nursery.

I decided to have my 8 week old daughter watched at Nellie’s based upon great reviews from friends and family members. My daughter only went three days a week. The first week was rough because she came home with a diaper rash on the third day she was there. I had her diaper rash resolved and on Monday afternoon it was back again. It was addressed and we provided diaper cream to use so no more rashes would occurr. Next week, same thing. Diaper rash except this time it was soars. I spoke to the director and she said it was the diapers and wipes they were using. I addressed that she should be changed more than every two hours even though by law that’s the longest she can sit in a dirty diaper. The director decided to have her changed with wet paper towels every hour. Then next week we provided our own wipes, diapers, and cream. Tuesday of the last week she came home with a diaper rash with soars again. Only 4 weeks in their care, I decided enough was enough and pulled her out of Nellie’s care. I do not recommend this daycare for your child to be watched. It’s very upsetting that i was spending over $ 200 a week, for 3 days, providing diapers, wipes, and cream with my daughter still coming home with bad diaper rashes. I decided to use in home daycare with better attention.
