This shop has the best deli sandwiches around! I personally love a simple roast beef on rye– they use great bread and meat. They also do awesome specialty sandwiches and have a nice assortment of chips and beverages. The people who work there are super nice too. Definitely my favorite lunch spot around!

Ordered two subs for takeout, service was fast and friendly. My wife had a #15 cubano was delicious. I had a #41 Pittsburgh sub and it was also delicious. Will definitely be back to try more sandwiches. I also saw a lady order a wrap and I can’t wait to try one cause it looked really good

Have had this place bookmarked for a while, but it’s a hike from where I live so just got around to trying it! I will start by saying the menu here is extensive! You will get a filling lunch or dinner with just about anything you order here, but expect to pay for it. This place isnt expensive but it isnt cheap! Ended up trying the #50 on the menu board, Spicy Dragon Sub or something to that effect which was very tasty and had a really nice kick that had my nose running, which I love! Also got to taste the Pastromi on Rye with Swiss which was $ 10 and nothing too special for the price. You get a good amount of meat but it was stringy and the bread was soggy. Before you enter, be prepared to read an extensive selection and do neck stretches beforehand because it is THAT long and detailed! Stand off to the side or know what you want ahead of time if there are others in line. Dont be afraid to ask the person at the counter for a recommendation and there is always a soup of the day! Overall I’d give this place a 3.5 star if I could but went with a 4 star just because this place is trying to replicate a NYC Style deli which I love and they are hand crafting the food to order, without much of a wait. Pricey but good. Not something I will drive 17 miles for again, but if Im in the area maybe!

I tried this deli last year and was told after I called to complain about it, that someone made my food that wasn’t a regular worker there. The Fish Fry was totally burnt to a crisp as well as the french fries, when I asked for it to be fried«light.» It was so saturated with grease I had to throw it all away. I also ordered a hot grilled chicken sandwich parm on a toasted bun. I got instead cold sliced chicken on a cold bun with very little sauce and very little cheese. So cold and dry I had to throw it away as well. I called and the owner sent me a coupon to try again. I tried the Fish Fry last week and the fish was perfect, light like I asked for. I went again today and ordered just 2 Fish Fried as light as they could get it, with no fries this time, and when I got home the fish was so dark and crispy I couldn’t eat the batter. I can’t have a lot of grease so I order it light. I called the owner and he said he made it the same as last week, but 1 was fine and the other burnt to a crisp. I told him I can’t eat the batter now, just the fish and his reply was«I’m sorry.» Well, I think because I’m a senior and disabled in a wheelchair, complained once and can’t eat certain foods these days that he made it very well done on purpose. I will NEVER go back again and I truly think he did that on purpose so I won’t return, because that was my complaint last year. I guess he just wants the regular folk that can eat anything put on their plate.

One of my favorite Deli’s in the Buffalo burbs! I was introduced to this wonderful«lunch spot» when I did radio sales and marketing, my clients from 123 Delivery and myself would meet here occasionally for lunch meetings! Jonny C’s NY Deli uses the best rolls(Costanzo Sub Rolls) and high quality deli meat. You can order a half or full sub. they also offer breakfast sandwiches and sandwiches on rye bread too! The subs that I enjoy are the: chicken club with bacon and the«turkey natural» with turkey, sliced cucumber, munster cheese, and herb mayo They also have combos with soup or salad or chips with a drink. You have the choice of taking your food to go or eating in the restaurant. Jonny C’s also caters too! I’m glad I don’t live too close to Jonny C’s, otherwise I would be tempted to go all the time! Experience the«New York Deli» ambience One of the BEST lunch spots around

Over the last few years, I’ve moved around the country for work(Colorado/Arizona) and have had terrible experiences at so-called«top sub restaurants» in their respective locations. Although CO/AZ are not known for their cuisine, I’ve gone to at least 10 different places for subs and in my opinion does not stack up to Jonny Cs. The bread makes the sandwich(A missing component at all inferior places), along with their crazy combinations and to top it off at a good value. Transit + Casey Location

Great sandwich shop. Everything I’ve had has been really good, but the kosher style is my favorite. I’ve also used their catering. For a few party’s and everything has been on point. Reasonably priced. Friendly service. And they also sell boars head cold cuts which are excellent.

I’ve been to Jonny C’s a few times and I think it’s safe to say that this is one of the best sandwich places we have in the region. East Amherst is so lucky to have this sandwich/sub place. I’m sure if it was closer I would probably be in here multiple times a week… When I first came into Jonny C’s, I didn’t really know what to expect, except a long listing of different sub choices. I’m still completely overwhelmed by the full menu. It’s about fifty items long, not including wraps and salads. The go-to for me is always chicken so I consumed the Casey the first time I went there. Holy wow, explosion of taste in the mouth. It’s chicken and portobello mushrooms/lettuce/other toppings with mayo. It leaves you melting for more, chomping at the bit(literally) for the next bite. The cravings started right after I finished it. Needless to say, a week or two later I was running back in. I thought to myself, «I should try something new and Unilocal about it» but no, I ran back to Casey and fell into its sinful(oh yes) goodness. After caving in to my desires, I decided to hold off on my review until I tried something else. I stayed true to my word the next time and followed through with a turkey, red pepper and hummus sub. Hummus is my third favorite food ever, so needless to say it was fantastic. The thickening texture of the hummus made it go down quite easily. Yummy yum. Although I’m a chicken fan until my last breath, I think you can trust that any one of their subs is going to be fantastic. Their customer service is stellar(although the where to wait/line situation is slightly awkward), their ingredients are fresh, and they take the time to make your sub super delectable. Go go! Go to Jonny C’s goooooo.

I got some take out from here and I was less than impressed. I was happy they have matzo ball soup, I was pretty excited to get it. Unfortunately, for me it was a let down. The matzo balls were pretty blah. I have seen other reviews and their pics that make it look like you get a ton of chicken and veggies in this soup and my experience just didn’t get that. I got a quart, it was three matzo balls and a few pieces of chicken and carrots and celery. Would not get it again. I also got a half of a french dip. They sell Boar’s Head meats which is a good sign! I love Boar’s Head products. I think getting this to go was a mistake. It was just a giant soggy mess. The bread was completely liquified, it was just mushy and gross. I ate some of the yummy beef but the sandwich was not good and I would not get it again. I would probably try a different sandwich and I would only get a sandwich to eat in if I get one, never getting one for take out again. I got my Mom a chicken ceasar salad, which she greatly enjoyed. She said it was very tasty and she liked it. So maybe salads are the way to go here? All in all, I had a cold and I needed the take out and I felt like this was just a giant let down. My soup wasn’t good, my sandwich wasn’t really edible… felt like money wasted. I’ll try here again in the future but eat in only.

Normally, I love this place. The sandwiches are great and the service is spot-on. Today, however(Friday night), it the service was unbelievably slow. There were three young guys who«working.» One socialized with the customer who came after us(knocking over our side orders, but continuing to socialize), another moved so slow, he had to lean his elbows on the cutting board(ew!!) to put his gloves on. One. Finger. At. A. Time. With a fussy baby in tow, it took nearly 20 minutes for an order of 4 sandwiches. The coleslaw was sour and the sandwich was doused with mayo.

Jonny is like a security camera. A voyeur of sorts. A clairvoyant. If you try and steal from this shop, Jonny C’s, and you get caught. If you try and do something with your gf or bf(or both) in the bathroom, Jonny C’s, but you don’t get caught, he just sort of watches. We’re living in that sort of era. And if you want your fortune told and your future prognosticatamabled, then while some mystics just pretend to have visions, Jonny actually… C’s. In fact they’re even thinking of renaming this place«Jonny C’s All.» I’m just glad it’s not named«Jonny D’s» because then it might have a slightly different clientele, and I don’t think I’d be as into the D’s as I am into the C’s. But then you never know. I just realized, this is the penultimate review before I am done(until I try new things) with Western NY reviews. Awwww!(Sob). Jonny C is actually the name of the cat who I call my son. Long before there was Starlight, long before there was Harley, there was him. He was the pioneer, the reason why any furry little friends live at my place. And so any Deli that is owned by him and named after him, is going to be a hit with me. He’s doing very well for himself, and I’m proud. Jonny C’s may be the best Deli in Western NY, which is a shame, because it doesn’t get even a fraction of the attention that the amazing Marco’s on Maple and Joe’s on Hertel do. The Marco’s on Hertel doesn’t do it for me at all. Unlike Reuben’s, Jonny is actually inventing a lot of his sandwiches, along the same lines as Marco’s and Joe’s. Fantastic concoctions which work really well. He has a few classics in there too but also a lot of things that you won’t find anywhere else in Buffalo, like his extremely popular Pittsburgh sandwich and his Chicken Finger sub. The list of options is as long as my thingy is(okay maybe even longer), and very wide as well. Service has been nice, even if some of the customers are rude(it’s getting like that everywhere now). The prices are fine, definitely not overpriced as some city places are. So you want to order off the Jonny C’s Fave list(50 choices as I said). The Buffalatta is great. The Pitt is absolutely delicious, infinitely better than«Primanti Bros.» which is the establishment that inspired it. The 495 is was amazing the first time, still good the second. The person I shared it with said it was one of the best things she ever tasted. It’s garlic mayo chicken bacon and stufffff. The steak is popular, but I haven’t tried it. The Casey is also amazing, it’s a pesto chicken thing. The Transit is awesome and NY-esque. The Chicken Parm is surprisingly excellent. The Abe Froman is dedicated to Patrick. The Glutton is ridiculous and reminds me of the Fat Darrell and such, from Brunswick, NJ at Rutgers — the Grease Trucks. #40 is out on disability. Another one of these sandwiches went to Florida. A secret fave is the Chicken Finger sub. Surprisingly, it’s the best Chicken Finger sub in town. So fresh, so juicy, so perfect. This is the PDF version of their menu, see for yourself. Scroll down for the sandwich choices. … The reason JC’s doesn’t get the attention it deserves is simple. Location, location, location. Louie’s is closer to me, but I’ll drive twice as far for this. Not too many city folk venture up here for a sandwich though. The nearby Grill Kabob has the same problem. Best curry in Buffalo(Chicken Karahi), and yet because it’s so far out, it’s the one Indian(Pakistani actually) that many Indian afficionados have never tried. What doesn’t make sense to me though, is that people will go out of their way to come up here for Grover’s(awful burgers and service), or Ruzzine’s(great burgers, service even worse than Grover’s), and yet many sandwich lovers haven’t been here. Please give Jonny C’s a try! Suburban places need your patronage just as much as the inner city places. Marco’s on Maple and Johnny C’s out here are probably the 2 best sandwich shops in the region(Joe’s completes the trifecta), and yet they’re nowhere near as busy as Joe’s because of location. Take the plunge and give them a try. Try them. Made with intelligence and love and expertise, so next time you’re craving a Subway or your fave deli, drive out here. It will be worth it. By the way, they cater. And the reason they do is because they are owned by my cat, Johnny C. And the word«cater» has«cat» in it. Plus when people hear about it, they are always like… um, what… it’s owned by a cat… er… yeah. So if you like Ice T, Easy E, Warren G(or Kenny G… um…) then you must also add Jonny C to your list. If you’re walking on a beach in sneakers(or stilettos) then they might get filled with sand… wich is not always fun. But if you want an amazing deli invention, and you’ve already tried Marco’s on Maple and Joe’s on Hertel… come out here and try what my cat is making. Other than babies. With every other cat in the neighborhood. Rawr.

This place is by far the best place to get a sub. They boast 50+ types of subs. It is a little overwhelming at first, but they have something for everyone. I personally recommend #10 or #18. The Pittsburgh is great as a sub or a salad.

Heres why I love Jonny C’s: First and foremost the subs are awesome. So good that you’ll be reluctant to try one of the other menu items(they have a lot to choose from, menu is massive). I’m a big fan of the«American,» the chicken salad, and the soups. Portion sizes are large so a half sub is normal enough unless you’re hungry then go big with the 12″. The service is incredible and here’s why. I ordered 2 subs from there, paid for them and drove home(about 15 minute drive). Opened the subs and found one of the main ingredients missing from one of the subs. Kinda miffed, I called them back just to let them know… without me asking, they asked for my address and drove not only 2 perfectly made subs to my house, but also include 2 coupons for a free sub. Way above my expectation to «make it right.» I go here at least once a week and ITIS one of the best places to get a sandwich/sub in Buffalo or it’s suburbs.

Awesome food, call ahead before hand gets very busy at lunch. Everything is fresh and the roast beef is perfect. They also do off site catering. If you are eating there, seat yourself area fills up quickly. Tell your lunch mate to grab a seat.

I think I may the only person in the whole world to complain that there’s too much chicken in the chicken soup. I guess I’m just used to my matzoh ball soup being just broth and a matzoh ball with a couple of pieces of carrots and celery thrown in for flavor and color. Not at «Johnny C’s» though. Here the bowl has almost enough chicken to make a chicken dinner(almost). Most people would consider that a good thing. It’s nice white meat chicken that my dining companion happily ate after I took spoon after spoon of it out of my bowl. The broth is perfectly flavored and the matzoh ball is just the right density. And, yup… there are a few carrot and celery pieces thrown in as well. Yum! «Johnny C’s» also has many, many, MANY kinds of sandwiches(50 on the menu) and wraps and subs and burgers and salads. The rolls and bread are super fresh. The meat(Boar’s Head) is top notch and ample. And, the veggies are crisp and perfect. The bite of the«Park Avenue»(turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, provolone cheese, and basil mayo on a lightly toasted sub roll) that I received in lieu of of the chicken from my soup was absolutely delicious. It was stuffed to falling-apart with fresh ingredients. The flavors were perfectly balanced. And, it was more(much more) than a fair trade.

If you are looking for a wide variety of choices this is your place. Order at the counter and wait patiently for the goodness to arrive. For a Saturday night they were pretty fast. We had the Reuben which was grilled perfect. Meat was plentiful and was well portioned to the kraut, cheese and sauce I much preferred the sub whose name escapes me but it had all kinds of meat, cheese, pizza sauce, banana peppers and best of all mozzarella sticks. Ask for extra sauce to dip it in. Don’t be afraid to make a mess it means you are enjoying your food.
