Great library with lots of materials. They do a good amount of activities and have lots of book clubs. Only downfall is its downtown so you have to deal with street meter parking.

This is one of my favorite spots in Amherst. Amazing selection of books, CDs, magazines, DVDs, etc. I love spending time here

The Jones Library is a huge gem of a resource. Lots of books. I get all my reading material from their«New» shelf. Books that I didn’t know that I was interested in, catch my eye and come home with me.(No commitment required). The staff can sometimes be a little cold at first,(Classic New England problem) but they do warm up pretty quickly. The children’s section is always friendly and has lots of activity going on. Not the hush-hush of an old fashioned library. Great place to take your kids. Do ask a librarian to show you around if you aren’t familiar with the kids section as there are a few different rooms. Wifi is usually decent and you can use a library computer without much wait times. You don’t need a library card to do so, just ask the reference librarian for a temporary pass. But if you are a Massachusetts resident you should have a card anyhow. All you need for the free card is proof of MA residency.(Anywhere in MA!) Highly recommended!!!
