The clothes selection is pretty hit or miss. I mainly come here for Sephora because it’s the closest besides the walden galleria. It’s not full size but they have the majority of things you would be looking for!

This review is for the Sephora in JCP. Do they detest their employment at this small Sephora? I always shop and have wonderful experience at the store at the Galleria. This is the third time I tried this store and each time the girls working are rude, nasty and would rather work on their own makeup than help customers find a certain product. It would be great if we got decent experiences with shopping here because it’s closer to home.

I am not a fan of most of the clothes in JCPenney, so I do not come here for that. I do come when they are having a jewelry sale, as they sometimes have a good selection of statement necklaces. I also like to come here if I need to make a quick trip to Sephora. The only other location close to where I live is at the Walden Galleria, but the Boulevard Mall is more convenient. They do not have as much as the full size store in the Galleria, but they usually have what I need here.

I went into this JCPenney location on multiple occasions to use a giftcard i had received. Each time there was no workers present. Upon my last visit I was so frustrated that I had asked the girl at the counter for help because I could not find a knife set even close to my price range. She let me know that I should try online because there is a bigger selection and I could have it shipped right to the store. I thought awesome! I will do that then. Oh was I wrong… Let me start off with that no way was I told not everything can be shipped to store — so not only was I slapped with a shipping fee, but a oversized package fee. For what? It is just a simple knife set! At this point I am like whatever. Just get rid of this nuisance of a giftcard. I go to cash out as a guest and nope! Hold on! Stop sign! The infinite loop of paypal logins after the giftcard was applied. Called customer service two times and no help! Used Facebook messager two times in addition to the phone calls, still no help! At this point two hours of my time was invested in this huge ordeal so I am determined. I download another browser to try and bam it works. So don’t bother trying to order from chrome. In what day and age is this an issue? The next day I get the confirmation email — there is absolutely no package tracking number! Sketchy if you ask me! It’s been a week and still no package. Within this week I have ordered 4 items to the 1 jcp from target and it has since been shipped and delivered. Never again will I bother ever trying to order a single thing from this company’s site or in store! Horrible customer service inside and out.

JC Penney is wonderful. It is my go to place for home goods(although the home goods are NOTCHEAP), jewelry, dresses, socks, purses you name it. However, the shoe department needs more people staffed. I have been here about 8 or 9 times and every time I have come looking for shoes there are countless women just like me rolling their eyes, waiting on a long line because there is only one person working in the shoe department. This means there is only one person going in the back to find shoe sizes, which can take a while and that same person is the one ringing customers out! It’s a little bit insane. Last week it took me over 40 minutes to get a shoe in my size and check out. I didn’t even bother trying the shoes on I had hoped for the best because there was no way I was waiting to try the shoes on and then get the workers attention again to buy them. The whole process was painfully painfully slow and I know everyone else who has shopped in the shoe department and reading this right now is nodding their head. I think their return policy however is very convenient. I bought a pair of boots a few months ago, wore them twice and the second time I wore them a strap broke. I brought them in, hoping they would allow a return even though they had been worn and they did! Save your receipts here and you shouldn’t have a problem with returns.

This is probably my favorite location of all of the local Penney’s stores. Their plus size department is decent in size, thought it’s totally hit or miss. Sometimes they seem to have great stuff. And other times, it’s just all bad. I blame that mostly on the design of the clothes and quality of the materials, but sometimes, half of the department is clearance(from what seems like last summer?!) and it’s all junk. What I really like to look at here though is the housewares and furniture. The furniture department is small but they have some amazing clearance deals. This past weekend they had an amazing Jonathan Adler bedroom set for 70% off. There was also this perfect little leather chair there for $ 300(!!!) but it was very sadly on hold for an employee there. Oh, I would have carried it home on my back if I had to! It was so comfy. Also some cool couches and tables on clearance for peanuts. So, this store can be a gold mine. And I like it for that reason mostly! But for me, the clothing is very hit or miss, as are most plus size departments. Blah.

I haven’t been to a J.C. Penny’s in a long time. I came here last night. I’m standing in my friend’s wedding and the shoes she wants the bridesmaids to wear were at Penny’s. I came here and right away found the shoes. I asked for them in a size 6, and the rep came back with a 6 ½. Okay. Trying them on to see if maybe they ran big, I noticed how dirty they were! They looked like they have been worn at a wedding and then returned! The strap was frayed and the metal on it was rusted! Because I had really no choice but to get them, I decided I would just order them online. Hopefully they will be of higher quality than the ones in the store…

Wow, I am truly amazed at how this place has turned around. Their newly remodeled store is bright, clean and refreshing. A great layout makes for easy shopping. I have been shopping at Express for years and I get upset sometimes because the quality of the clothes are lacking but the costs are insane. Penny’s has amazing clothes at about a 3rd the cost. On a recent shopping trip to Express I spent $ 100 and walked away with two pairs of shorts and a pair of pants. Mind you a coupon and sales allowed for the«inexpensive» checkout. For the exact same price at JCPenney I could have scored 4 to 5 pairs of pants without having to wait for a coupon and sales and walked away looking just as stylish. I also love that they have Sehpora inside the store. Makes for an easier one stop shopping trip.
