Always a decent place to go and get some decent Asian food. The food has always come out hot to us. It’s usually using pretty fresh food and I’ve never really had to wait for anything here. The wait staff is attentive but not overbearing. The décor is interesting and everything seems clean.

My favorite restaurant in Amherst/Northampton area. Their authentic menu has couple amazing choices out of which I love the chicken with chilly peanuts. Wontons in hot oil and the crab Rangoon are also my favorite appetizers. However one of the waiters is very rude and we hate it when he serves us! Next time we go there, there is no way we would accept him as our waiter.

Came here looking for some Asian food in the Valley and was feeling pretty ok about this place. Cute interior with nice bamboo displays and comfy couch-type seats. The host/waiters/busboys were all great and very considerate; our waiter was quite animated and friendly. Food was a-ok, but a good solid choice for Chinese food in Amherst. Portion sizes were all good, though one pork dish was a little small compared to our other dishes. I think the key is that everything was ok, but nothing made me extremely excited or reminiscent of really great Chinese dishes I’ve had. Still a well-rounded choice for dinner tho.

Stopped here today. Since it’s the ginger garden I got ginger chicken with string beans, fried rice and egg drop soup. Ginger chicken was great and had fresh shreds of ginger in the sauce. Fried rice was very good as well, and not greasy. Egg drop soup was not oily, and you could taste the chicken broth. Wait staff was incredibly friendly, and brought many refills for my sweet ice tea.

We won’t be going back. Can’t prove it; but we are fairly certain that one member of our party was poisoned by the lunch they ate yesterday afternoon. Server(«Blake») was rude throughout. We tried to find out what was in the sushi rolls that were on the lunch menu.(The menu did not give any indication.) He refused. There are far better places to eat sushi in the area.

I loved this place. We got hot and sour soup which was DELICIOUS and then the vegetable fried rice, ma-la tofu and jade roll. Get the hot and sour soup for sure, it was so wonderful and one of the best I’ve ever had. Most importantly, we had to eat quickly and we had a server named Ben who was fantastic. He brought the food super fast and even brought the check without us asking, so we were out of there in 25 – 30 minutes. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone, really great food and service!!!

Fantastic food and very reasonable prices. Their service is always fast, staff are very friendly and helpful. We try to order something different of the menu each time we come, and every meal has been prepared to perfection. Always hot and delicious and we’ve yet to be disappointed. The lunch menu is great as well and the prices are even better.

I’ve been here a few times and most recently came here with a large group and the food was good. We were all Chinese and mostly ordered from the authentic menu. The fish and tofu in chili miso is one of my favorite dishes here! It’s delicious. We also had the chicken and corn soup special, which was decent. The pork belly with preserved vegetables lacked flavor. The the Kung Pao shrimp was okay and shredded pork with spiced tofu was really good. Overall, it was a good experience, but the service was slow and had to ask multiple times to have our waters refilled.

This is the best Chinese restaurant in the town. They have authentic chinese menu, and Japanese sushi. Food is good, service is so nice. Definitely will come back to try other dishes.

Technically this was my second time eating here since this restaurant catered a business event a couple of days before. Apparently it’s a really popular place to eat but unfortunately I was underwhelmed. When we arrived we were greeted but yolks there would be a 30 minute wait. Apparently you will need to make a reservation to ensure timely seating. We sat in the bar area for what seemed like an hour or more before we were seated at a table. Our servers were nice but spoke limited English and we worked though it. The restaurant offers both an «Authentic Chinese» menu and the regular Chinese food fare menu. We ordered appetizers and drinks before placing our table order for several dishes to be served family style. The wontons were a little hard for my liking and I didn’t really like the seasoning of the chicken wings. The Samurai sushi roll was excellent, though. For dinner we ordered General Tso chicken(great crispiness but lacking flavor), Lamb 2 ways(I don’t eat lamb but a colleague said it wasn’t well seasoned), beef and broccoli(meh, the broccoli was firm how I like it but the beef was chewy), and Short Ribs(wasn’t really into it). Overall I guess it was edible but i definitely don’t see what all the hype is about.

Fresh Chinese food but definitely pay for ambiance. I won’t go back for sushi because it was overpriced for no reason, I’ve had more flavor for half the cost from big-y. But the fried rice and wings were delicious and not over greasy and fairly priced, and the waiter was really nice. The cleaning guys were hovering which was kinda weird but over all it was pretty good

Vey surprised at how tiny the sushi was: about half the size of what I have had at other restaurants. But the best part of my visit to GG: I took a sip from my beer and the waiter returned to tell me he had given me the wrong one. He then picked it up and took it to another table.

Get the authentic Chinese menu, the«Shanghai grandma pork» is to die for. It’s a stew that tastes like what you’d get in China!

Until today we had only done takeout through delivery express and we were always very happy with the quality of the food. Today we took friends to the restaurant and the food was even better; just outstanding. Everything we ordered was so flavorful and delicious. I’d recommend: Eggplant with garlic sauce, ginger chicken with green beans, vegetable pad Thai, pork and tofu, scallion pancakes, fried dumplings, crab rangoons. We also ordered a scallion and shrimp dish from the traditional menu which was amazing with the seafood cooked perfectly. Our waiter was so warm, funny, and attentive which rounded out the positive experience for us. Best Chinese food in Amherst for sure!

Amazing Chinese food. The food off of their normal menu is what you expect from any Chinese place. Their authentic menu is just something else though. The food from there tastes much better than the Americanized chinese food. Only a single complaint: Their spicy food isn’t spicy enough for me, even asking for extremely spicy. I think I’ll have to bring my carolina reaper powder with me next time.

Wow! Double cooked pork belly with Chinese leeks was absolutely heavenly. This is my first time giving 5 stars! I will be going back next time I’m in Amherst for sure! Clean place, good service, amazing food. I would recommend anyone to try this place but be warned! You’ll be hooked!

Came here specifically for their sushi offerings. Driving up, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Located in a somewhat nondescript building on the edge of town – the outside gave little indication of the sleek, spacious, warm ambiance contained within. We were seated immediately and our server was kind, helpful, and accommodating. We sampled several of their rolls and were pleased as punch with every last one. Honest to Unilocal… fantastic sushi is being served here. They also have a full bar with an array of inventive signature cocktails. I ordered more than one. A warning and a promise: Their cocktails are deliciously deceptive – they are strong, strong, STRONG. One cocktail in, and you begin to think two would be just the thing. Half way through number two, you think – it seems like a third would really cap off this entire culinary experience. Two sips into number 3 and you’re calling for the check because you’ve decided you must have pie. MUST… HAVE… PIE. I’m not complaining… just saying… Get to it!
