Before you complain about there being no toilet, read: while you drink your coffee or tea. In a nutshell: service is poor and slow, coffee has been served scalding hot, prices are high.

Very cute place. I love this faux rustic vibe that seems to be all over the Hamptons. I think the place itself exudes high quality due to its décor with small organic brand name products on the shelves and seasonal coffee drinks. I tried the honey cinnamon latte and the maple latte. Both were good. Surprisingly not sweet but very fragrant. There were also a bunch of pastries that look good. Prices are on the higher end. You will pay $ 5 or over for your specialty lattes.

Jacks brews the best coffee that I have ever tasted and I always pick up a few pounds when I am in East Hampton. Otherwise, I order 3 pounds per month and it is delivered to me from its Greenwich Village location. They serve a drink called the Teddy and it is awesome. Their coffee has no bitterness and always brews a perfect cup. Highly recommend!

There are so few serious coffee houses out here on the east end of the south fork, and Jack’s deserves more than the average 3+ stars it seems to have garnered here on Unilocal.Don’t let the negative reviews sway you. If you’re in need of a solidly good espresso drink, this is your spot. Don’t go to Starbucks. Please.

The coffee was good, but the breakfast food is literally disgusting. While they advertise«poached organic egg» on their menu, it was a hockey puck of a microwaved egg on a post frozen sprouted muffin with an old poor quality piece of cheddar. On top of that, the people who work there treat you as if they are doing you a favor. Do yourself a favor and go to Mary’s Marvelous; there you will also be treated like crap, but at least the food will be good.

Six flavors of ice cream but one isn’t actually available. Restroom is for employees and the only customers allowed to use it are the ones who are pregnant, in the employees’ judgment. Servers are also rude. Ice cream is good.

Disorganized, lazy. Witnessed two young girls topple over on stools in front of the owner, who was too busy to ask if anyone was okay because he was sucking up to a movie-mogul celebrity. Typical of the arrogant, east end culture.

What happened? Jacks had the BEST coffee around worth the larger price, it was that good! Yesterday I received what I would say was the worst cup of coffee of the summer. Either they changed the formula or the staff is not servicing the machines properly. Coffee was bitter dense and unpleasant tasting. Pluses: Jacks is the décor very clever well done, nice merchandising. Negative: staff not familiar with prices of items in store… Different quotes for same item. This happened on a few occasions. Sadly if old coffee does not return I won’t either.

Went here as a last stop for coffee before heading home west, I asked for a chai latte with a shot of espresso and almond milk. When I received it, it was scolding hot so 30 minutes into the drive home do I realize they made it completely wrong. Staff was probably the least friendly group I’ve ever seen and all together over priced for what I got. I could’ve went to Starbucks for a correctly made drink and it would’ve cost less, and I’m not even and sbux fan. I’d pass on this place next time I’m in the area.

Overpriced trash. The poached egg sandwich was a plastic egg in a dry, unbuttered English muffin. The ice cream cost a small fortune and I had to fight the lady behind the counter for the chocolate sauce.

Was underwhelmed with this experience. First off everyone on line had a puss on their face and the staff was not accommodating or nice but made you feel like you should be privileged to get a cup of coffee here. I placed an order for four drinks: two cappuccinos, one caramel latte and a cup of regular coffee. $ 19.76! I was shocked. Anyway-the girl handed me four cups with no lids and placed them in front of me on the counter-I was by myself, what was I supposed to do with that?! When I asked her for tops and a tray she gave me a death look-And took her sweet time to get the tray and tops, with not one spoken word, she didn’t even put the tops on but left me to do it and disappeared. The only reason I didn’t give this disappointing experience one star was because my cappuccino was really good. Too bad everything else was crappy.

Coffee is good however made it a point to call today while driving to the Hamptons. The person said they were closing at 8:00 get here at 7:20 and they were CLOSED! That is ghetto get together Jack. If didn’t call no problem but to make the effort to call and find them closed is unacceptable. Note this was on 7÷2÷2012 however it really bothered me and then going back out there in early April was astonished they didn’t have a public restroom. This is a food establishment that sells a liquid they should respect their customers and offer a bathroom to them.

Update: though I still personally dislike their actual coffee drinks, their service has been consistently much friendlier. Phew.

This place is cute, it has a great presence. When you walk in, you feel like you are in a cool place. The food, clothing, drinks all give the café a story and that’s pretty neat. I take off a star because obviously there is something special about the stir brew method, and I am assuming that is why the prices are slightly higher for coffee. But when I asked the staff, they explained stir brew as a method that makes the coffee taste better and that was all they could say. They couldn’t really explain the process and to me that makes this place less authentic.

Yet another independently-owned café that will go out of business, and whose patrons will bitterly blame it on evil corporate empires like Starbucks. Funny thing though – I don’t pay $ 9 for a soy latte and vegan donut at Starbucks, and when I ask to use the bathroom they don’t tell me to use the gas station down the street. Friends, sometimes there’s a reason that corporate chains like Starbucks win. For one, they provide bathrooms. because, you know, THEIRBUSINESSMODELISBASEDONPEOPLEBUYINGOVER-SIZEDBEVERAGESANDSITTINGAROUNDALLDAYBUYINGMOREBEVERAGES. That said, the donut was tasty, and they have smoothies. If you need something takeaway, have a strong bladder, and have so much money your pocket seam is tearing, you’ve got a place, boss.

**3STARS for the COFFEE** **2STARS for the service** Being a rookie in the«Hamptons» way… I was generally prepared for the attitude that comes along with everything here… so when me and the friend, and her husband came in here for four days during the 4th of July Holiday… I saw first hand the difference in the staff treatment of it’s customers. Their coffee was good… oh okay… just OKAY… it didn’t blow my mind away… still a big fan Anthony’s Coffee in Maui and of course Ritual in SF… so for me, it was just okay but apparently per the area standards, this was the best.(everyone is entitled to their own opinions…) Service: night and day! If you look like the type that actually lives in the area… then yes on awesome service. But if they can sense that you’re a newcomer… then may the force be with you! Price… expected of the area of course.

Updating my review to upgrade the rating to 4 stars based on a consistently boss experience with their food items. I got the granola which was so good I wanted to cry, and a delicious egg sandwich. The granola is expensive, not comparatively to their other items but for a typical ‘cereal’ item at first glance. HOWEVER, after one bite, the realization I had was that this granola is like the entire crop of the fertile crescent in a bowl(nuts, seeds, oats, dried fruits). Thick, crunchy, not-to-sweet, and filling. Okay, maybe I embellished, but for real, its worth the added star. I found out that the granola at Jacks is sourced from Dr. Cow… so thanks Jack and thanks Dr. Cow!!!

I trashed the Village Jack’s, I said their coffee tasted like mud. But here I am, mid week and all the way out in Eastern Long Island. Long Island is locked down by evil corporate empires. Cablevison, Newsday and Starbucks. So I walk in and I’m thinking there is a huge picture of my face at the register. No service for Billy Salts. He said there was Jelly Jars filled with cat brains in his last review. I walk in and its a nice looking and open store. I order a latte and gladly hand over my hard earned cash. Ahh. Coffee house coffee Thanks Jack for opening a coffee house out east.(I’m still not going to the Village location anymore)
