I had high expectations for this Bob Evans, but they weren’t entirely met, unfortunately. My party and I entered and were seated immediately, something I wasn’t expecting for dinner on a Friday night. Our waitress was an absolute gem! She was very attentive and recommended the wild berry iced tea, which was fabulous. The food, however, wasn’t the greatest. I ordered a cheeseburger and French fries. The fries were good, but soggy. The burger was good, but the bun was really really soggy. I’ve never had a bun that was as soggy as this one was. Other than the soggy bun, everything else was good.

Excellent food and staff! The waitress Pam was super friendly and was constantly checking back. The manager was on the floor and engaged in what was going on. We will be returning!

We had an awesome early Sunday morning breakfast here. Our food didn’t arrive supet fast, but everything came out hot and fresh and just as orderd. Our excellent server even gave us coffee to go. We will certainly be back next time we stay in Altoona!

I chose this restaurant because it looked new and I expected that a national chain would have some chance of being consistent with their food. I ordered an omelet, which was very average until I found what appeared to be burnt raisins inside(yuck). The toast had been prepared long before the plates were served and was cold and dry. I subbed fruit for potatoes and got something out of a can. The server was nice and polite, but I had to request a sections of jelly for the dry toast. They were very slow, I can now see why.

I’m not sure of the really low reviews… No this Isn’t a 5 star place, especially because the service, though friendly, isn’t very good. I’ve been to other Bob Evans, Breezewood PA, Frederic MD, and Easton MD, and they’re very dirty. This one is very clean. The coffee is very good, and never bitter. The Chicken and Noodles over massed potatoes are great on a cold wintry day!

Had breakfast which wasn’t bad except for the fact that my breakfast didn’t come with bread or rolls. They charged me $ 1.99 for two biscuits. Go to Cracker Barrel. They will give you all the biscuits you can eat for NO additional cost.

This place is awful. They mess up your in restaurant order all the time, and they mess up take out orders all the time. The management is terrible and never follows up or follows through with anything they say. I wish I could give negative stars for this location. Just awful.

Average or below average. Have tried this new location for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I’ve been Bob Evans fan in the past so I was excited that one was opening locally… A little disappointed now. The food is average, nothing that you couldn’t find elsewhere or better. The warm, fresh bread is delicious. My dinner entrée wasn’t bad, just seemed bland and subpar, the portion of mashed potatoes reminded me a lot of my high school’s potatoes — take an ice cream scoop and plop it on. My breakfast experience was without a doubt overpriced, but the food wasn’t bad. The wait staff all seem miserable, with the exception of the waitress at the next table over. On all three occasions, I’ve had waitresses that seemed to be just going through the motions and as unpersonable as could be. If you’re looking for a «good country dining experience», do yourself a favor and go to Cracker Barrel

I found myself in Main Street, America on Wednesday night for a business trip. For dinner, I decided to try Bob Evans, a place I heard driven by in other states and had heard about. It was 15 degrees outside so I was happy to walk into a warm place. I was greeted nicely by the maitre’d. A younger guy was the waiter and he was very helpful. I told him it was my first time in a Bob Evans and he told me that they are known for their sausages and it’s typically served during breakfast(served all day). I decided on the salmon and veggies for dinner. However, he gave me a sausage sample and it was good. The food is simple but well prepared. I was also given a side of bread. I consider this place kinda a folksy /country version of Panera Bread. The waiter was very courteous and I was happy to give him a nice tip. Overall, I had a good experience and would go back.

Food was good, over priced though. 1.99 for toast… Service wasn’t that great either. But again good food !

Brand new location in Altoona! I haven’t been to a Bob Evans before. I was expecting an all breakfast place for some reason but they definitely have a lot more than breakfast. We had a short wait for a table despite the place being packed! The restaurant itself is bright and seemingly clean(restroom needed some attention though, yuck) and I enjoyed all of the farm photos on the walls. It’s a little crowded though. Maybe they didn’t anticipate the crowd but it felt like we were all on top of each other. Not pleasant. I’m biased about the server(Betsy R.) but she was great. I watched my sister in action with not only our table but several other ones and we were all kept happy! She even gave me good advice about what to order because I was overwhelmed with the large menu. I ordered an open faced Philly that had mashed potatoes and gravy. It was pretty good! I ordered the kid’s blueberry pancakes for my daughter and they were really good too — I had to take a bite! ;) All in all, I think it’s a decent place to grab a quick homestyle meal for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
