Food was good, 2 star because Unilocal check in for 15 percent off was for dinner only but they spelled dinner wrong without a r, so read it as dine in and when I told the waitress at the beginning she didn’t say anything about how it applies to dinner only. They waited till the end to tell us.

Marlon provided excellent service — best service I have received in buffet restaurant — ever. The place looks very clean, the food is fresh, presentation is great. Overall a great hidden gem.

Just going for the sushi is worth it. Lunch is worth the $ 12 if you eat mainly sushi. Not worth it if you eat the Chinese food. I had the ramen bar… Not bad but not really flavorful. The shrimp wasn’t overdone. I will try this place again.

My boyfriend and I decided to try this place on a recommendation from my sister. We were really excited for it. Walking in it was really nice, tastefully decorated and the presentation of the buffet was impressive. But as we started to sample several different things from the buffet, we were more and more disappointed. A lot of the meats were over cooked and dried out. The sushi was ok. Food from the hibachi grill had an odd unpleasant after taste. And the popular Japanese white sauce tasted really odd. I’m only giving it 2 stars because the restaurant itself was nice. For the $ 20/person we paid for dinner, and how low quality the food was, we will not be returning.

Went with several different friends and family members at different times. Everything seemed to be ok. They complained the food was cold and not really fresh. The sushi wasn’t rolled tight enough. I found the tempura not crispy enough to not have breading fall off. I really enjoyed my first time thete. My son said the rice was cheap tasting in the sushi. His wife knows rice well as she is korean. Service is good. I will not be returning to this restaurant again due to over all lack of quality of food and everyone I’ve brought complaining about different things.

Mikado offers a great option for lunch. It wasn’t the best tasting sushi or Japanese I’ve had but the quality was decent, especially for $ 13 at lunch(Monday through Saturday). We visited Mikado on a recent Saturday and enjoyed: –Sushi rolls(around 15 to choose from and plenty that had real tuna not just fake crab filler) –Nigiri sushi –Made to order ramen bar — note they don’t have fresh tonkatsu broth as you have to go to a real ramen place for that. They do however have miso and other pre-made broths –Made to order hibachi grill –Hot buffet items(Chinese and Japanese items like salmon teriyaki and tempura and more, soups) –Salad bar(including seaweed salad, squid salad, etc) –Dessert bar(cream puffs, mango cake slices, fresh fruit, no cheesecake as other reviewers have mentioned) Sashimi is only available during dinner($ 24 Mon through Sat and all day Sundays) as well as some other more expensive seafood items.

This neat and clean sushi buffet and hibachi grill is well worth the $ 13.00 lunch price tag. Dinner goes up to $ 24 or there abouts which for me is not worth it because I can’t eat that much! They have a cold salads, fruit, and dessert bar; there is also a hot bar with items such as potstickers, tempura shrimp(very good!), teriyaki chicken and salmon, Mongolian beef and green beans. Now for the sushi. They probably had 18 – 20 different rolls to try. They had the typical spicy crab, volcano, spider, rainbow, etc. The rolls are continually replenished and taste good. I like having variety and the rolls were fresh. I would have liked the non-tempura rolls to be a bit colder. One qualm is it looked like one of the cooks was using his bare hands to put some sort of raw meat into a plastic bin. I was looking through the glass so he might have had a clear glove on but from my vantage point, he did not have gloves on. I would have given this a four star review if I hadn’t seen that. Otherwise, I thought it is a nice option to the Altamonte Springs sushi scene.

We were really impressed with this buffet! The atmosphere is a bit odd… more night-clubby than restaurant(lighting maybe?) Food– the price includes AYCE sushi rolls, sashimi, sushi, shellfish(oysters, mussels, snow crab, raw clams), as well as light Japanese appetizers, soup(miso and a few other), and cooked dishes. The cooked dishes in my opinion weren’t anything special and more Chinese than Japanese. They also had a udon and ramen prep station where the chef would make your noodles and broth to your liking. I’m a huge Udon fan and really enjoyed this part of the buffet. Overall if you don’t mind the weird atmosphere I think this is a great deal for lovers of seafood and sushi. Would recommend :)

If you like Sushi /Japanese food, you HAVE to come to Mikado Japanese Buffet. The sushi is amazing(tonight I had the Lobster roll, amazing roll, and several others), so fresh and high quality. This isn’t a Chinese buffet that has sushi, this is the real deal! They also have incredible hibachi, hot foods, sashimi, raw bar, and other seafood like whole miso steamed fish, mahi mahi, and two kinds of crab! So good. They even have an Udon station with a kimchi broth that’s to life for). It’s a new place and needs the word to spread. You won’t be disappointed.

My new favorite go-to asian buffet. Granted it is Japanese… but I will go here over any other Chinese/Japanese/Pan-Asian buffet in a 20 mile radius! It also helps that it’s just a short drive for me to get here. Everything is kept clean and open. Waitstaff is friendly enough. The sushi alone is worth the trip! The sushi chefs are constantly replenishing the beautiful assortment of rolls and nigiri. They have almost everything in here! Hibachi grill, ramen noodle soup bar, stir fried entrees, tempura, pull and peel shrimp, crawfish, salad bar, ceviche… I usually start with a plate of salmon nigiri, seaweed salad, and a few«special rolls». I’ll also have the hibachi guy hook me up with a soy garlic stir fry of veggies and beef and smother it with some white sauce… Then work my way to half bowl of ramen. I ask for half kimchi and paintain(sp?). Gives it a spicy and creamy flavor. If i have room I may do a handful of crawfish and maybe more salmon nigiri. Finish off with a small piece of the tiramisu cake? I only wish there was more«asian» flavors for desserts. Green tea, red bean, anything… For dinner(higher price point) they put out sashimi, grilled steak, and other higher-end meats and seafood on the grill section. Overall, great buffet and overall better quality than other buffets in the area.

Not a bad place! Would be better if it were a little bigger and had a wider variety of food but the sushi was fresh and pretty good, with a good assortment. Hibachi wasn’t my favorite but I was a fan of the hot buffet bar and it was a very clean restaurant!

It hurts me to write this review but in light of the last experience I had here I must tell it like it is. The first time I came here it was within the first month of their grand opening and the sushi and overall quality of the food was pretty good, however, just this week I returned with some friends for their lunch buffet at 2:30(I realize buffets are better if you go during the traditional lunch hour 12 – 2 or so) and I was completely disappointed at the amount of food, the quality of the food and finally the attitude of the servers. I don’t think I will come back here to put out $ 12.50 for a buffet that is sub par to others in the area that are a lot cheaper and a lot more tasty.

I’ve been told that I’m too rough on my ratings. Could it just be that I’m a big foodie? The staff was very kind, friendly, and personable. The restaurant itself was impressively clean, even after it’s been open for a few weeks. I loved the overall décor. Some reviews I read claimed the fish was bland. It is because they don’t make authentic nigiri(wasabi on fish and placed on packed/shaped rice). The fish itself was fresh and the perfect size cut per portion. One thing that could be improved(if not done authentically) is that it could be made properly(pieces shaped so that it doesn’t fall apart when lifted or put in soy sauce). I loved that there was a huge variety of oshinko! What I didn’t like is that almost all of it was dry. Placed in dishes for consumption without being in part of it’s juices.(An easy fix by putting each in big bowls to be taken out by customers with tongs.) Is this my favorite restaurant in Orlando to eat sushi? NO. Would I eat here again? Sure-good for the price.

I’m a new fan! We went to check out this place for lunch and it was a pleasant experience. Very clean and nice atmosphere — nice enough to take a date to but also a good casual place to dine. Presentation of food on buffet was excellent, and the taste of the food on the buffet was good quality, nothing like those cheaper Asian buffets. Great variety of buffet and sushi items, including some things you do not see at your other buffets — like pickled ginger, pickled cucumber, and seasoned bamboo shoots. Lots of seafood and salad options. They also have hibachi and a good variety of yummy Asian sauces/condiments. Great value for $ 12.95 Staff was very friendly and the manager thanked us for our visit. Will definitely come back again!

Drove by this place and found out it was recently opened, decided to have lunch there. I like the blue lighting at this place, ambiance is great with comfortable seating. Service — Since this is a Buffet style, servers are really there to refill drinks and take away empty plates, friendly staff. Food: Sushi — They have sushi and nigiri(piece of fish siting on rice) rolls, I liked my salmon nigiri ones, as far as for sushi rolls, they all tasted pretty bland to me, none stood out. Eel sauce is available at the sushi station; Hibachi — it was decent except they cooked shrimp too long. Ramen noodle — didn’t try these. Salad bar in the middle — Good selection, greens, ceviche, etc. Dessert selection is small — just few small cakes and an ice cream machine in the corner with vanilla and chocolate available. Overall it was ok, nothing that stood out to be tasty. Prices: $ 13 for lunch, $ 25 for dinner, a little pricier than Koy Wan’s which is less than 2 miles away and a good competition. Would I go back again? Maybe only for lunch to have some salmon nigiri.

We heard about this place from a friend and decided to come for dinner. When we walked in we were immediately greeted and seated, and the setting was very intricate and modern. This restaurant is a buffet style with all you can eat sushi, seafood, ramen, hibachi, and snack & soup bar. I tried the sushi first and let me tell you that this is one of the best sushi I had at a buffet, very very fresh and flavorful fish. We loved the place immediately, but after trying the seafood and soups I was a little disappointed that it was not as fresh as the fish. All the other food was pretty delicious and they have a pretty good assortment. I was surprised they even offered crab legs, but the size was quite small but the taste was good! After that we had a dessert, and the flan is a must have, along with very creamy ice cream. Overall I would return for the sushi, amazing customer service, and the multiple tv channels playing. Our server had other tables but attended to our table perfectly, and quick. And for dinner price it was 26 per person. Will definitely return!

I love sushi. I love AYCE. I do not love Mikado. This is not to say I wouldn’t ever return if I was in the area and wanted a large amount of food for roughly $ 13(lunch), but I didn’t think the sushi was that great; it was okay at best. I served myself several plates full of sushi, but none of them really stood out. You’d be hard pressed at even guessing which type of seafood you were consuming since they all came across as bland. The Tempura Chicken and Sweet Potato rolls would be the exception, but I’d attribute that to the texture rather than anything else. As for their hot entrees, the selection was much smaller than what you’d expect to find, definitely the smallest selection I’ve seen from an AYCE. I went for lunch and as far as proteins go, they only had two options, one of which was empty throughout the entire time(1 hour?) I was there. They do offer a Hibachi station as well as a Ramen station which may offset the lack of selection for some. Strangely enough, the highlight of my meal was their dessert station. It’s extremely weird since every single, and I mean every single sushi/Asian buffet I’ve been to has had identical options, but not Mikado. The highlights were tiny cheesecake bites in various flavors which were very delicious as well as a self serve ice cream station; simple but tasty. Our server was very friendly which is always a plus. One feature that seemed very off to me was the fact that their plates were at knee/shin level and were facing upwards. I have no clue as to why their plates are so low and it makes absolutely zero sense to have them face upwards; every single particle of everything you would never want on your plate will eventually settle down on your plate. I don’t know, it just stuck out to me and it puzzled me throughout the meal. Would I return? Maybe, but I’m never in this area so I highly doubt it.

Oh. My. Witness the bounty of seafood and tempura and noodles and craw dad and sushi and the teriyaki goodness. SOMUCHYUMMIES GREAT people. GREAT food. I love this place!!! For a buffet? Head and shoulders above the rest. Pay a few extra bucks and step into flavor country!
