Suga Mama’s Sweet Suite Hair & Makeup

I found Tami on Unilocal and hadn’t had my hair done in months (7 months prego)! She was very accommodating, professional, and hooked my hair up! I found my new beautician and highly recommend her!!!

Just like all the reviews prior to mine… Tami is by far the best! She’s personable, kind, considerate, and most importantly she listens to what the client is requesting! First, before scheduling my appointment, Tami got a clear understanding on what I was asking for. Unlike most stylist that reply with, «when do you want to come in?!?» Tami phoned and inquired about my needs and expectations… this is truly rare — if only all stylists did this. I explained my situation, and she empathized with me. Another stylist did a HORRIBLE partial sew-​in with a full-​frontal on me, a week prior to me scheduling with Tami. Needless to say, clearly it was a bad sew-​in — hence me needing another appointment for the same services a week later. Ladies when I say, she’s good — trust me!

Ok my experience. here it is, all facts, no fluff I promise ;)
Suga mama is a magician! Or a magical beauty elf lol I really have no better explanation of how she manages to do it all!
Her presses, flat iron, braiding skills everything is on point! All while singing, and dancing to old school rap songs. Did this make my time under the dryer longer you ask? Nope! Very entertaining though lol all jokes aside I did the HAIRomatherapy treatment and my hair and scalp has never looked or felt better. Well there it is folks, now if you excuse me I have to book my next appointment with Suga Mama, sorry. (Sorry, but I’m not sorry)

I don’t know what to say… Tami «Suga Momma» is a class act. This girl flat out knows what she’s doing. I recently relocated from Northern Cali to Southern and was scared to death to «switch hair girls.» If you’re like me, this is a BIG DEAL! Tami gave me what I wanted… The best full sewn-​in weave I’ve ever had. THEN (yes there is more), I spoke to her about my crazy travel schedule for work. I’ m on the road 3 days out of the week and she gently suggested considering a lace front wig. It allows for more durability and easier, more economical fixes.
I ordered a lace front and my hair is the bomb!
First, when I went home with my full sewn in weave I got compliments like crazy! I ordered the hair she suggested (she provided many options for my budget… and I still have it in my drawer… lol). Second, the lace front idea for my lifestyle has made a huge difference. Again, I got my lace front from a place that she suggested and I haven’t looked back. I am serious about my weaves and about my hair care underneath. Suga momma (Tammi) cares about both and even uses special elixirs to take care of my natural hair underneath. I’d be more than happy to give a recommendation if you need (see info below). I’ve been in the weave world for years and haven’t been happier. I buy expensive products and expect the same for my hair treatments. I’m not looking back! This is the way to go and I’d recommend her many times over!

Tammy aka «Sugamama» is magic! She is able to talk and turn your hair out in a hour! I have been to many of stylist and she is solid! She does a great consultation and really helps you come to a great decision about your hair. As many of you women know, half the time you get your hair done, you are bullied into the stylist idea of what you want. Tammy let’s you know what the possibilities are and leaves it up to you. SO happy I found her! Everyone (and I) loves my hair! Thanks Tammy!

I love the services that I received! I got a basic weave with a U shaped amount of hair on top. It looks neat, discreet and it feels sturdy without being painful. Plus I got some super cute curls for the day when she styled it! She’s fast, sweet and professional! I’ll update with some pictures and a review for the half way mark. Thanks Suga Mama!!!

I’m sorry SugaMama for this delayed review– I’ve been too busy flaunting my braids!
Things I look for in cornrows:
1. NEATNESS
2. last for AT LEAST 3 weeks. (I need my money’s worth, and 3 weeks ain’t bad at all)
3. some care tips from the beauty expert… well that’s a bonus I guess.
SugaMama’s works her magic in my hair. I’m Asian with thinner than the usual African American hair, and yes the process did hurt but beauty doesn’t come free. The end result: every braid was perfectly lined, and my hair was kept so incredibly tidy. When the hair is braided so close to the scalp, you know this is some high quality expertise. 4+ weeks later, my braids are looking nice, only somewhat looser because the hair grows out… but compared to the last place I went to, I’m really getting my money’s worth. At the end, SugaMama gave me some tips on washing my hair (don’t let the water hit those braids!) and recommended me some gels just in case my hair didn’t stay put (I have layers so of course I’d have this slight problem). Shows she really cares!
I got cornrows done back in December 2011, and those ‘rows still last! I went to my company holiday party with the whole hair going on, and everyone loved them. I’ve been receiving compliments all over cali (back in the SF Bay and in the LA malls), and I’m lovin’ the attention :) from the boys even.

I found Tame about three years ago and have been a faithful and loyal customer ever since. She does INCREDIBLE work and is very flexible and accommodating with making appointments and in keeping in contact with her customers. Tame is the best and the ONLY person beside myself I’d let touch my hair!

The Best Weaveologist I’ve experienced to date!!!
I have had the pleasure of having my mane cared for from Tammy aka SugaMama for the past year and I have to say that her work is incredible! I moved to Southern Cal just about 2 years ago and tried out the many salons and stylist all over SoCal… I just wasn’t that impressed with their level of Expertise, Customer Service or rates… I gave up for a bit and started wearing lacefronts and braids because I couldn’t find anyone to give me that fresh out the salon look that lasted more than a day.
Then I came across an ad for SugaMama’s Sweet Suite :) I made an appointment through her online appointment system and promptly received a call confirming my appointment and what I was looking for. The rest is history!
I love that Tammy will take you in the early am or late into the evening hours as well. She has a shop experience set up in her home and a 1 client at a time style, which is nice and you get to have her all to yourself. She has fit me in if I make an appointment weeks in advance or a day. I really appreciate it.
As for my hair, I have NEVER received so many compliments from everything from my texture, to the body and bounce she gives me… One guy told me I looked like I came out of a shampoo commercial and this was 3 weeks after having my hair did. She does an unbelievable job with blending and is a pro with the razor! Her braiding technique is nice and small so there is no lumps or bumps… she makes your weave look really natural.
I consider myself somewhat of a weave/​hair connoisseur, so ladies just be sure to bring the right amount of GOOD hair… and you’ll never want anyone else to touch your mane!!!

Love me some Suga Mama’s!!!
I’ve been going to SugaMama’s for YEARS and I have never had a bad experience. She’s always been more than accommodating to try to fit me into her appointment schedule, even when she’s backed up with other appointments, even if it’s late at night or early in the morning, even if she has just moved the week before and in the middle of unpacking (TRUE STORY!)
I found her through hair message boards where everyone was raving about her, so when I decided to get extensions of my own, I was nervous, but figured I’d be in good hands. When I first started going there, she was very patient with me in explaining all that I needed to do to upkeep and care for my hair.
Highly HIGHLY recommended to anyone looking for a reasonably priced stylist!!!
