Typically – the bison burger is always delicious as well as the salad and service. However, my last visit I was a little disappointed with service. When I walked to the hostess, I asked her for an outside table, and she said she would have to check and get back with me(mind you, i saw 3 or 4 tables open that just needed to be cleaned off). Ten minutes later – I’m sitting at the bar waiting on her — she asks me if I am waiting for a table… really? Then, she seats us but forgets to tell our server she sat us, so no one comes by or table for a good 5 – 10 min. Then I order a margarita and it takes at least 10 minutes for it to come out. For the most part – our food was good. No complaints on the burgers or sides, but the home made chips were definitely overcooked. And we didn’t get those yummy pickles they bring out. It just seemed like a comedy of errors. Hoping next time the craving for a bison burger strikes the service is better.

Ted’s is always there for my French fry craving and lemonade! I love the bison sliders too(can’t beat the rolls they come on…) I always request Julie, she is the best;super attentive and really friendly!

I have had it with the restaurants at Avalon. There is yet to be a place that I would give more than 3 stars. I have really liked other Ted’s locations, but this place needs help. This is not a cheap place for lunch, so my expectations are higher than other, less expensive places. My husband had a bison burger which he actually enjoyed. I ordered the bison meatloaf and it came out lukewarm at best. Our server, Julie was the only thing I would give 5 stars. She was very attentive and had them bring a new plate quickly. This was brought out by the manager. Unfortunately it still was not the right temperature. The mashed potatoes were also lukewarm. I could not finish most of my meal because it just didn’t make the grade. The squash casserole was hot and pretty good, but it definitely looked like it had been under the broiler for too long. Although the second plate wasn’t hot I ate what I could tolerate because I was hungry. The manager did give us a free dessert(Strawberry Shortcake), but the shortcake was pretty stale and the strawberries were slightly frozen. I do not think Ted would be too pleased with this location, and we will not be returning anytime soon. Avalon needs to step it up in the restaurant department. I stay away unless I go to the movies.

Nice restaurant poor satisfaction. Ordered a farmhouse salad no bacon or cheese, received a salad with bacon(removed top layer of bacon to fool me, had a little less than a handful of bacon) no cheese returned it to get a salad with no bacon with cheese… Salad was tasty, burgers were great. Waiter was nice.

I had exactly the same experience as Jim R. I’ve never had Ted’s prior to 4⁄24 and decided to pick up a to-go order for a night of Fear the Walking Dead and a good meal. Well, the bison burger was incredible: great flavor and a nice texture. It’s probably my new favorite protein. The fries were the same as Jim R.‘s. Incredible, however, is opposite to the word I’d use to describe the service from the staff on the floor. It was just deplorable. The bar was wrecked with soiled napkins, cutlery, plateware, and stemware. All of which the bartender was aware of, but he rather complain about it to a colleague than rectify the problem. It was something I was willing to overlook, fine, scheduling conflicts happen. I receive a menu, place my order, sit down, and over the next several minutes, wait out one faux pas after another: 1. Took the bartender about five minutes before asking me if I wanted a drink while I waited. 2. The busboy walks briskly from the back-of-house. Not to collect his mounted pile of responsibilities, but to inquire about a televised basketball game: «Hey, is the game on?!» To his dissatisfaction, it was a Steve Harvey program, so he returns to the kitchen … empty handed. 3. As the busboy leaves, in walks a waitress … digging her index finger in between her teeth. My face must have done a sub-par reveal of my disgust considering we made eye contact, and she continued retrieving«it» until being just a few steps from the patio. Then I watched her walk up to a table of women and ask, «Y’all still doing alright out here?» Evidently, she was their server. NOTE: She wore silver crucifix earrings(for certain) and had blonde hair(I think). 4. As my food was almost ready, the bartender provides me with the bill. I hand him my AmEx, and the heavens must have opened up and revealed me as the king of the hill because from then on, I’m «sir» and«mister.» 5. The bartender hands me my to-go bag, but when I open it, there are no condiments(for the burger) nor utensils(for the cheesecake). I won’t be returning soon or in the foreseeable future.

I must agree with MM’s review about not having enough staff. I arrived on a Sunday evening and wanted a quick dinner at the bar. What I saw gave me a bad feeling. Every table in the bar and most seats at the bar had un-bused dishes and glassware. And, there was only two of us in the bar area. I asked the bartender to clear a spot so I could sit down. Not a very professional vib. I must say that the Avalon burger was cooked perfectly but the French fries were a bust. I must have gotten the bottom of the bag as no fry was over 1 inch long. Overall I’d give the food a «3», bar service a «2.5» and the overall feel a zero.

Great food! Nice staff. We had tried another location first and they were horrible. Coming to this location was so much better. Food was amazing. Great way to spend my birthday. The kids loved the wix sticks. Christina is a great waitress.

Food not the same as the atmosphere. walk in with shorts and hosted looked me from top to bottom. said it was okay for me to seat in the bar. I saw some people dressing casual and others with sandals. at the end the food was Okay at best… not sure if i will be back.

Great burgers! We opted for the beef burgers this time. Friends told us that it was hard to tell the difference between the beef and the bison. Having said that, the burgers were delicious. Service was attentive, and the furnishings and ambience were comfortable and relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Normally a good restaurant, Teds wasn’t quite up to par last evening. Nearly an hour wait — as it was Feb 13, quite a few people seemed to be out for an early Valentines dinner. Not unexpected, but Teds didn’t seem prepared to handle the flow of people. While waiting for our table, we had a drink at the bar — one of our party ordered a sour apple martini. The bar was out of the sour apple mix hmmmm… We get seated and Julie was our server. She gets an A plus for service and personality. The food, however, rates a C or so. Three of the party got bison burgers, one got salmon, one got a regular hamburger and I got trout. The salmon was overcooked and the burgers were dry. Not the norm at Teds, but when you’re paying $ 15 for a burger, you want it to be better than you can do at home. These weren’t. My trout was perfectly done — of the six of us, I was the only one completely satisfied with my meal. Have been quite happy with previous visits to Teds so am sure this was an anomaly, but I’m surprised that they didn’t seem to be able to hand the pre-Valentines day dining crowd.

Love love love Ted’s! We’ve eaten at several TMG locations around Atlanta and found all of them to be consistent in food and service. Sadly you don’t get that with most chains. My teenager decided at the last minute he wanted to go to Ted’s for his birthday on a Friday night. I called the restaurant at 6:15 and was put on on the call ahead wait list. People — do this! I said we would be there at 6:45. We walked through the super crowded lobby at 6:40 and the hostess sat us immediately! There must have been 10 parties waiting. Call ahead seating is the best! My sons ordered bison burgers — bacon cheeseburger and knife & fork chili cheeseburger. If you’ve never tried the last one, you should! Open face burger on a ciabatta roll piled high with bison chili, cheese, tomatoes, jalapenos and onions. This burger is my favorite and so so good! The plate was loaded with the burger and fries. I had the Kansas City cut bison medium rare and it was perfect! My mother loved her pecan-crusted trout, which took up the whole plate. Sides of grilled asparagus and baked potatoes were cooked just right. One of the best things Ted’s offers is wildberry sauce. You can add this sweet & tart sauce to lemonade for a heavenly treat or top your cheesecake. I tried in it a libation called Bourbon 41 I believe — bourbon, grand marnier, Ted’s lemonade and the wildberry sauce. Absolute divine! I can’t wait to go back just for drinks! Service was on target, friendly and our waitress checked on us frequently. Since we were so stuffed, we got desserts to go. Great celebration for my son’s birthday!

Visited: 01/24/2016 Bison burger,…where else am I going to easily get it in the state of GA? I had the New Mexico Burger and enjoyed it because of the avocado. Since it was paired with the salsa, my taste buds were pretty much playing games with my head and what I was eating It was in no way bad at all, I thought I got Tex-Mex in a leaner fashion which I certainly have no complaints The fries were wonderful and crispy yet full and not skinny or empty. They weren’t too thick like giant wedges but just the right amount. Throughly enjoyed it all. Now… only if my tummy had more room to consume it all I think it would be pretty cool if they had mini Bison sliders that you can get in three styles! That would be amazing and might be just the right amount yet you’d get to pick from a specific list of styles, example: New Mexico, Ted’s Bacon Cheeseburger and another flavor all in mini sixes! Our server was Andrew and he was wonderful! He was always on top of everything and made sure we had everything we could’ve wanted or needed. Thank you a lot for the wonderful service! We’ll certainly be coming back again whenever we get a bison craving

Love this place. Bison chili nachos, George’s Cadillac, and a nice lemonade does the trick lol. Love the atmosphere as well being located in Avalon

I went to this location last Saturday night. The first thing I loved was that, in spite of our waiting time was going to be 30 mins. we were called in 15. Our waitress was very nice(Cat). She also knows the menu head to toe. I ordered the mushroom and Swiss cheese Bison burger and it was amazing. If you are going to eat one of those burger, make sure you are really hungry. Overall, will love to go back again.

We called ahead on a busy Saturday night. Walked in and were seated right away, despite a huge wait list! Our food was excellent. Our server was delightful and even the manager was attentive. In our party we had a filet, the short ribs special, a burger, and bison. All were perfectly prepared and served promptly for how busy they were. We will be back. Our only criticism is that it is a little noisy, but the place was packed!

So 2 people actually suggested this place for lunch… I admit the area is nice. The Avalon itself seemed like a neat place to shop(traditional and boutique like stores), hence my high expectations on dining. *Unfortunately, Ted’s will NOT be a repeat experience. Their salmon was horrible! It says cedar plank, so maybe it was suppose to have a smoked flavor?.. but to me it just tasted plain… literally was thinking ‘blah.’ No amount of their secret side sauce could’ve helped it. Trust me, I tried. **Almost every one of their ‘Classics’ is paired with garlic mashed potatoes. You can substitute, but the veggies aren’t great either. The parmesan broccoli and asparagus were both plain and either over or undercooked; too soft to be crisp and not soft enough to be ‘steamed’ or whatever asparagus would be at that stage. ***The BURGERS are GREAT though! The meat is so soft it falls apart, so if you’re looking for that definitely go here. If I had ordered one for myself this place would’ve earned a 3(4 if the service was quicker; not a jerk they really were slow). But I didn’t, so I was left finishing my salmon… bitterly. Oh btw, the fresh cut fries are soggy, soft. ****The atmospherics aren’t bad. They have a nice small bar thats sectioned off from regular dining(i.e. kid friendly), inside décor decent, and ect. At lunch the music isn’t loud, so it’d be good for business conversations and such. Just don’t get the salmon or you’ll probably be disappointed.

Came to Ted’s with wife for friend’s birthday. I ordered Delmonico Ribeye medium rare with 50⁄50 sweet potato fries & onion rings and kale salad as sides. Unfortunately my steak was overcooked to the point that it was around medium well to well done, but the manager was very pleasant and more than helpful to get a new order of steak in for me. About 10 – 15 min later, I got my steak that was cooked to my liking, but the taste and quality was below my expectations: it was blend and too chewy. All in all, great service but mediocre food.

I have been put off to try Ted’s at Avalon because of the low rating on Unilocal, but we decided to finally dine here since Bocado closes at 10pm and we haven’t eaten dinner. Ted’s was one of the only few restaurants at Avalon still opened on a Saturday night. Service was good, no complaints there. We even had a small conversation with our server about Costco! DECOR I think the décor is bad/confusing and lots of clashing is going on. It looks like Ted’s is going for a fancy and upscale look, but also that Texas Cowboy look. I think that they should stick to one style. I am confused by the black and white checkered tiled floors as it doesn’t go with the wooden ceilings. FOOD — Avalon Burger(Beef): thick beef patty topped with gruyère cheese, bacon carmelized onions, roasted garlic aioli, and my favorite, baby arugula! The burger also comes with blue cheese, but I’m not a fan of blue cheese so I did without that. Our server said this was the most popular burger and I agree. I LOVED the Avalon Burger! It was juicy and had lots of flavors. There was tons of baby arugula and it came on the side so that you can add it in how much/how little you want. — Skinny Dip(Beef): basically a bun-less burger, but nothing about this burger is basic. With the Skinny Dip, you have a thick and juicy beef patty topped with lettuce, tomatoes, and slices of avocado. Instead of the side, kale salad, we opted for another side. — Sides: French Fries and Salt & Pepper Onion Rings. Both sides were good, but I am impressed by the Salt & Pepper Onion Rings as I am normally not a fan of onion rings. They are not your typical onion rings. These onion rings were thick cut and the breading stayed really well on the slices of onions. The salt & pepper really brings out of the flavor of the breading and onions. Impressive! I asked for a side of chipotle ranch to dip our fries and onion rings and it went really well together. Overall, we would love to diner at Ted’s again as we are fans of the burgers and am looking forward to trying other items on the menu, especially a bison burger!

The total misfortune was eating here the day after Christmas. They told our party of 7 it was a 30 minute wait. Then told us it was a 2 hour wait. Then we waited another 30 minutes and they seated us. While waiting a pizza delivery showed up from papa johns to feed the kitchen staff. Really kinda strange. Excited about a buffalo heavy menu, the food was kinda underwhelming. The meatloaf was a bit odd in flavor. Not bad but just odd. I’d say the salad and chili combo is the way to go here… if I’d ever return which is unlikely.

I have to say I wasn’t blown away by this place. After hearing all the talk and waiting over an hour to be seated I expected more. Turns out that bison tastes just like cow which was a disappointment. Not much seasoning on the meat, a little bland. Server was great and the reason for the stars, they just had too many customers. Tables on top of tables make for a cramped experience. I look forward to returning at maybe a less busy time to really experience Ted’s.
