Worst customer service. We waited for more than 30 minutes to get our ordered food before walking out. When complained to the manager she says that her cook was missing and was literally telling me that I would be better off not coming back! I have had good food here in the past and sad to see the place fall apart. They have also lost their alcohol license so they don’t serve alcohol anymore.

Horrible place with bad service. Got a soup to go and the woman informed me of the fact they didn’t have spoons. I said that’s fine, what she didn’t tell me was that she put the incorrect lid on the soup before she put it in the bag and half of it spilled in the bag. It was also a $ 7 «chicken soup» with NOT A SINGLEPIECEOFCHICKEN! Just broth and rice. Barely edible. I suggest they hire some different people who can properly complete an order in the future.

Today we had a terrible experience. First we were told they were out of avocados but they did have guacamole, 10 minutes after we ordered the server told us they are out of guacamole too. Our chip basket was never refilled, and out server didn’t seem to care if we had a good experience or not. Will not be coming back to this place, specially since it seems like it is going to close.

This is my first time here I had a pork burrito Verde came out hot The pork had a little too much salt it felt like boiled porkThat may have cooked a bit too long you know sometimes you can kill The life out of something by cooking it too long and then covering it up with spices The beans and rice were hot and fresh but the green sauce on top of this Verde Really didn’t live up to its name I did order a side of guacamole appetizer it was authentic The chips could’ve been a little bit more fresh but it is difficult to please me pricing is a little high but I’m sure the rent is high too But if I pay $ 16 for a dish and they have four dollars into it I should really be paying about $ 12 so in this instance It was a filling dish so if you consider getting filled up good value OK but it just could’ve been prepared a little bit differently this place is in a bout a lunch only location/destination spot I give this rating only based on the hot plate of food that I had and the server was decent not any suggestions just basically a food runner but they were very slow no attention from the manager Who was chatty Cathy at the table next to me ignoring the screaming child that was at that table she was talking to that was annoying every other table in this restaurant

We stopped here for a quick bite to eat. We are here on our house hunting trip. At about midnight I came down with violent food poisoning. I have to find my new home this week and now this. I feel awful. Avoid this place like the plague. Sad, service was good, and everything tasted okay, but definitely some bad food handling occurred and I am soooo upset. :(

I tried Jose’s again today, and again just super disappointed in the service. This same lady running the hostess stand is still horrible at her job. My wife and baby met me here for lunch, and the hostess was sitting down chatting with an older gentlemen. We didn’t really know what was going on, just sort of stood there confused for a minute, until the hostess stopped her personal conversation to seat us. We thought she was a customer. I’m almost positive that this is the same hostess who was rude to me a year ago. We had a baby(1.5 years old) and she did not offer a highchair or booster seat. So my wife sits down while I stand there holding the kiddo while the hostess runs back to chat to the older gentlemen. The waitress(who was actually very nice and attentive) saw this happen and was extremely apologetic. The hostess was then on a loud phone conversation while walking around the restaurant while messing with her hair(gross). At this point no one is at the hostess stand, and it’s an obvious mess with people coming in not knowing what to do. We saw one couple wait for a few minutes before turning around and leaving. Random servers are trying to keep up with customers while also greeting people. Even the older gentlemen ‘hostess friend’ is actually trying to seat people. It was almost comical. It’s shocking to me that whoever owns this place allows this hostess to manage the front end of the restaurant. The menu has a lot of items that look excellent. Our food really was good, I had the seafood enchilada, it was ok, my wife had the barbacoa burrito which was EXCELLENT. However the rice was undercooked and hard. The guy who brought our food out spilled food off the plate onto my dress pants, he saw it happen and didn’t apologize or anything. Maybe he was embarrassed, but it wasn’t handled well. It was not very busy even though we were here during the lunch rush. Maybe 4 or 5 seated tables. I wish the owner would realize that while his food is excellent, his hostess and the«service vibe» of the restaurant is really poor. There was a box of junk behind the hostess stand. My wife noticed an open container of bug/roach/pest killer in the women’s restroom. The seats of our booth had dirt and crumbs in the cracks. Our food plates were stacked where I had food all over the bottom and sides of my dish. The plastic thing that the bill comes in was dirty. The menus were dirty. This place has great food and SO much potential. In my opinion whoever owns this restaurant needs to hire a pro to manage the front end. I can tell that the hostess means well — she was nice to our baby and did refill our drinks. But the bottom line is that her personality is not suited for greeting and helping people at a restaurant.

Terrible. Burnt chips, «tableside» guacamole was not made fresh at the table. Tamales overly salted and seemed to have a can of chili on top. Chili relleno had a blob of partially cold cheese on top.

We live in Woodstock but I work just across the street. We tried it out of convenience and will never go anywhere else! Everyone we have encountered there is nice, especially the owners! It truly is a family owned restaurant. Better believe Jose is back there in the kitchen. The best house margaritas I have ever had. We love the soup. I get it every day. Any time something is wrong, they fix it immediately but its only happened once and it wasnt even their fault(it was mine!) I have only amazing things to say about this place. We are regulars now. My son even loves it there and the food isnt too spicy for him at only five years old. I brought my parents yesterday and they each got one taco. My moms own words were«this is the best thing I have ever eaten» about the shrimp taco. My sister gets the BBQ taco. Everything we have had is amazing and its a great family atmosphere. Definitely try it for yourself.

Came here for lunch midweek, and although the food was pretty good the service was the worst ever! Including the«owner» Leticia sounding off on me because I asked for the check and didn’t want to wait anymore for her to keep trying to offer some measly bucks off if my friend and I would come back. She should NOT be handling any customer issues!!!

Good place for Mexican. Nothing to call home about, just your average place. Clean and friendly and prompt. Warm chips and good salsa. I got the speedy and it was good. Again, nothing amazing but if your in the mood for Mexican, it’ll do.

A family owned authentic Mexican food restaurant. Happy pleasurable atmosphere where Jose treats all patrons graciously. Food is great. I’m a big fan of the enchiladas. Generous portions bottomless chips and homemade salsa. If you’re in the mood for Mexican, this is your place! Can’t wait to go back.

No no no no no! Against my better judgment, we decided to give Jose’s another chance. We went there when they first opened and we were highly disappointed with the food and service. Nothing has changed. The place was not busy and we still waited a good 5 mins before anyone came to greet us. Nothing friendly about the service at all. The staff were either on their phones or sitting at tables with their family/friends. Very unprofessional. The food was less than stellar for the price. I had to put so much salt on my food just to get it to taste like something. Never again.

Retracted: Losing stars because they no longer give you a lunch special to go. The lady who took my order charged me full price for the special(my co worker got the special price five minutes prior). She didn’t bother to inform me that they no longer have the reduce price for the lunch special either, and swiped my card. I am no longer an promoter and advocate. But what I said about their food is still ok, yet I would just go to Tarahumata instead. The Lunch specials are a really good value, and I’ll always promote that. My togo order took 3 minutes and so I’m not expecting something super fresh. So with that said, not really a place to eat great Mexican food but it’s better than any alternative in the 2 mile radius based on value alone. Atmosphere is Ok. Salsa took an upgrade from my previous visit. Hope that stays because the last time it was like spicy ketchup.

The food was really good. We had the Brisket Burrito and Chili Relleno, Texas Margarita. Our server was warm and friendly. The Manager/owner checked on us twice during our meal. It was a nice relaxing dinner. Good for kids!

We will be back! My kids loved the cheese quesadilla and re fried beans. We all agreed the chips are the best in Alpharetta! The staff were friendly and the place was clean. It’s nice to find good hardy Mexican food. I can’t wait to come back and try other menu items. The only draw back is my beef enchiladas were a little too salty.

Jose’s was amazing. We stumbled across this place after looking at houses in the area. We had originally meant to find the Avalon for lunch. I am so glad we took a wrong turn because this will become our most favorite hang out. The margarita was amazing. Jose brought it out with the tequila on the side so that we would know just how much was in there. The burritos, chimichanga and quesadillas were also spectacular. The queso fundido with chorizo had just the right amount of spice. Everything was wonderful. The tequila selection was the best I’ve seen and we will be back very soon.

I really think this might be the best mexican food in town. I love the pork tacos!!! I am not a huge mexican food fan, but my family loves it. Eating at Jose’s has changed my mind about good mexican food. Great service and great food. Very clean. 5 stars

It’s generic Mexican-food but since it’s in the suburbs I can understand the four-star Unilocal rating. I came here for lunch with some people. It’s perfectly fine though it is a bit bland and could use more seasoning. I had the lunch combo #1. The lettuce and tomatoes on my taco were fresh. The meat filling could have used more flavor though. The wait staff was friendly and helpful.

I feel like the way the salsa tastes at a restaurant, is a clear indication of how the food is going to taste. I have to say, the salsa at Jose’s is probably the best that I’ve tasted since moving to Johns Creek in 2011. We came on Christmas Eve and we were so excited that they were open. There were a few people in there eating, but it was pretty empty, which was nice. Our server came over immediately and got our drink order and brought chips and salsa. I ordered the burrito supreme with beef, and my husband ordered the enchiladas and taco combo meal. My oldest son ordered the hot dog kids meal, and fries. The server came back to inform us that they were out of fries, and let us get mini quesadillas as the replacement side. It was perfect for our two-year-old to eat. The kids meal came with a drink and then some fruit(pineapple and cantaloupe). My son ate all of it and asked for more! My burrito was incredible. It was smothered with the cheese sauce and then had lettuce, tomato, and sour cream on it. The beans and rice that came with it were also some of the best that I’ve ever had. I was in heaven enjoying my dinner! My husband really enjoyed his dinner as well and we decided that when we go out for Mexican again, we’ll be going back to Jose’s for sure!

The food here is awesome. If this review was just based on food and quality, it would definitely be five stars. The Jose’s Trio dip is to DIE for — highly recommend it. A colleague and I went here for lunch at 11:30 on Halloween. There were three tables that people sitting at them, and the rest were empty. One guy was in a booth alone, and two women women were in a booth and a party of three in a booth. The hostess tried to sit us at a table but we asked for a booth as well. She said it was a Friday and they were going to be busy and that she didn’t want to give a booth to two people because they were going to fill up. I was taken aback at her brusqueness and tone of voice and general lack of any kind of customer service skills. I paid close attention to how she was seating others. Many who came in asked for booths and she said nothing to them so I’m not sure what her issue was with seating us in a booth. I might add, when we left at 12:20, the place still had open booths and tables. I will still go back, because the food and staff(other than the hostess) are awesome. Hopefully they find someone else to run the front of house.

We were in Atlanta on business, hungry as HELL and undecided on what to eat. We drove by this place and gave it a go. The staff was extremely friendly and we were sat immediately. Our server(Melissa) listened to what our wants were and gave great suggestions. The chips & salsa were excellent. The chips were warm, light and flaky and the salsa was blended(which is my favorite). I really liked that they give you an extra carafe of salsa so when you run low, you can just refill it. I have this habit of ordering exactly the same menu items at every restaurant I frequent. In this case it was a chicken tostada. This thing was huge, really tasty and inexpensive. I can’t remember what my buddy ordered but he loved it. Jose, made his way to our table and checked on us to make sure our meal was up to par. We liked the food, the service and the overall atmosphere so much that we came back later that evening with a few other co-workers. They liked it so much that we all came back the next evening. When we sat down, Jose sent us out a complimentary appetizer. Bottom line… I wish this place was closer to home as I would eat there weekly.
