NEWTOWNPARKFARMER’S MARKET My husband and I were very surprised to stumble upon this market as we were visiting the park this morning. We arrived a little before 8am but was surprised to see that all vendors were not set up and ready to go. When I hear«farmer’s» market, I automatically picture those people who are up at the crack of dawn and tend to start their day very early. Anyway, we shopped for a bit and then walked around as we waited for the vendors to complete their set up. Some of the vendors included Bernhard’s bread Bakery, Seven Sisters Scones, Crave Pie, Fitzgerald’s Smoked Meats, Noemi’s Tamales. Lizzie’s Pantry, Tayl Organic Farm, Independent farmers and other vendors. I was able to purchase beautiful rainbow chard and garden fresh tomatoes which you will not find in your local grocery stores. Our favorite today was Bernhard’s pretzel bread and the worst was probably the salty thin grits offered by one of the vendors. If you must sample, choose wisely and don’t forget to take your shopping bags,(recycle).

Tu valoración: 2 Alpharetta, GA
If you are hoping this is a good addition to the Alpharetta’s Farmer’s Market, I’m sad to say it’s not. There is a lot of prepared foods, face painting, a nearby doggie park and other social-type amenities, but there were only two stalls carrying fresh fruit or veg that I saw. They send out an email each week touting the market and the one the day or so before had promised blueberries galore and other good stuff, so I was looking forward to it. What a let down! I love farmers markets and was so disappointed I just looked at Philip and said, «forget this, let’s go to the Alpharetta market»(well, I didn’t say *exactly* that, but close) and left without purchasing anything at all. We travelled straight to the Alpharetta market and bought our usual fruits, veg, herbs and fresh breads. If you want to take the kiddies(or doggies) to the park, it’s fine. If you’re looking to buy food to, like, you know, COOK, then give this one a miss and go straight to the Alpharetta farmers market. I gave it a 2 because the face painting booth looked like it was entertaining for the kids.
