D&G Towing

These guys are the WORST!!! I mean I get that they tow cars what do you expect but do they have to be so rude? I lived on South st in brighton one year and for one reason or another couldnt get a permit because i am still in college and my moms name was on the car. My car was getting towed every week!
The issue with that is there only suppose to tow every 1^st and 3^rd friday of the month. They are corrupt people who do not care. One time I was in my car with my keys and the guy didnt have my car hooked up yet. He blocked my path infront of me from leaving and a car was right behind me. He told me he didnt care and he was «towing my ass» because he was already out of his car!
I mean whats next; they dont care because they already thought about towing it so now they have too!!! Seriously the worst

Car broke down and was parked overnight in a place that was illegal after 8am. The D&G dispatcher said the ETA for the tow truck was 90 min. After standing in subzero temperature for over 2 hrs, which is not the reason for the poor rating, the driver arrived. The tow truck operator was courteous, competent, and professional; the complete opposite of the dispatcher who did not know where driver was en route and was unable to predict when he would arrive (a simple cell phone call to the driver would resolve the location question).
After about 3 calls to the dispatcher at increasingly shorter intervals, the dispatcher said «he’ll get there when he gets there» and hung up on me. The rude, incompetent, and unprofessional dispatcher at D&G are a ZERO star rating. the tow truck operator is the only reason they received a better than awful rating.

Some of the reviews are just mad they got towed; understandable, but not fair, really. Others are quite substantive. My experience was positive, so I’m logging it, but please read the other reviews, too.
Everyone I encountered was polite and efficient. I was charged $ 133 cash-​only. From what I can gather, the way they itemize the bill is pretty goofy, but the total is not too unreasonable for a ²⁴⁄₇ service. The cash-​only policy was a hassle, and seems fishy; they said once they were unable to collect out-​of-​state credit card payment.
Fairly accessible location. Was in and out in a few minutes. Car seems unharmed.

absoloute pieces of shit. blocked me in while towing another car and were rude about it. called the offices and even worse encounter.

These people are dangerous! Their flatbed tow truck was roaring down Rt. 2 near Concord in a construction zone at over 75 miles an hour, swerving between lanes. Later, it nearly rear-​ended a car in Fresh Pond. What on earth!!!

My car was towed by these guys yesterday…
First, to find out where the hell my car was, I had to chase down the tow truck down my street. That was fun.
I then called the office to confirm that my car was there, and I got a nasty secretary who told me that their credit card machines were down and were accepting cash only. I only had 50 bucks in my account, and I asked if I had to wait to pay, and the credit machines only started working the next day, would I have to pay the overnight fee? And the answer was «of course, because its not their fault the credit machines weren’t working» (well, it wasn’t mine either).
Also, they take people’s main mode of transportation; how do you not know street/​walking/​public transportation directions?!
After I borrowed money from my boyfriend, I went to get my car. My car was blocked in my a tow truck, and as I was putting my license away, I was ordered to «hurry up and move my car». Once I got to my car, my alarm went off, my seat belt was in 4 crazy knots around the steering wheel, and would not release. That’s my seat belt. Do not mess with that please; it can literally save my life. Another worker asked what the issue was, and I said that its being taken care of; but the employee who was fixing the belt said «She’s complaining about the seat belt» Wow, that was rude. Don’t beak my seat belt, and maybe I won’t complain about it.
Pretty rude, pretty inconsiderate. Pretty sure I’m screwed if I get in an accident now.

No Stars! I just parked my car in the TJ Maxx lot in Brookline, where I had been planning to shop, but made a quick stop at another business for 5 minutes before heading over to TJ Maxx. As I was leaving, the manager at the business commented that it looks like my car is getting towed. I chased down the tow truck (D&G Towing), and told the tow driver that I had only left my car for five minutes to run a quick errand and that I would be returning to shop at TJ MAxx, and he responded, «Yeah, can’t do that,» and he drove off with my car. It was the middle of the day and the parking lot had PLENTY of spots left. Plus – I was planning on shopping at TJ MAXX! I will no longer shop at TJ MAXX there – or any of the other shops in that area. I will find shops with parking lots that do not tow after five minutes. I want to support local business, but do not want to risk a $ 145 fine to do so.

I took my daughter to TJ Maxx this afternoon so she could do some clothing shopping. I parked, went to do another errand while she tried on some clothes. After 45 minutes my daughter went to the car. She was told there was a towing company coming to tow the cars from theTJ Maxx parking lot. She called me and I was there in a moment. Two men from D & G were blocking my car. I said my daughter was shopping in TJ Maxx. They said they called out my licence plate on the loud speaker. I shop at TJ maxx twice a week. I have never heard them call out a licence number and my daughter didn’t hear it either. They blocked my car until I agreed to go to the Sovereign ATM right next to the store and give them $ 90.00. I feel like I was held up. This seems really illegal. Now I am afraid to shop at TJ Maxx any more. This was at 4:15 in the afternoon. The store was not even closing!

Zero star! Worst towing company ever! Super rude staff and ridiculous policy.
Like many of the other reviewers mentioned, their cash-​only policy and $ 35 storage fee for zero minute storage are completely ridiculous. In addition, they also charged us for 6 miles of towing when they actually only towed the car for 0.4 mile. They claim that 6 miles was for dropping the paper work at the police station but they didn’t stop at the police station at all! The guy manning the shop only kept yelling «that’s the policy, you pay and you get the car».
I’ll complain with DPU for sure next Monday. BTW, the number of DPU Transportation Division is 617−305−3559.

Pricks. Last night, I was in Allston for a concert at the Brighton Music Hall. I had never been there before. Street parking was blocked up for the night, but I found a TJMaxx lot. There were a half dozen or so cars in it, so I joined them. This was around 7:45PM. I came back at midnight after the concert, and every car in the lot had been towed. Only then, as I searched for it, did I find the unlit posted sign. I called this joke shop and some grisly night worker with a thick Boston accent that made me want to punch him through the phone line, yeah that kind of guy picked up. I tell him they have my car. «A hundread ‘n fawty five dallahs cahsh.» «I reply, «I only have $ 41 in cash right now.» «Then ya’ nawt gettin ya’ cah.» It was midnight. Hobos on the streets. Phone was dying and said the air was 34 degrees. Shops are all closed. Unfamiliar area. I ended up having to get a cab drive me to my parents, some 30 miles south, for $ 94!!! Then I had to borrow a car from them to get to my house, and this morning my mother and I had to drive back up to Dipstick & Gruesome to jailbreak my Jeep. Even when we got there, I wasbiting my tongue. I drove into their dingy lot and got barked at. «No parkin in tha lawt!» God forbid, of course.
I will never have anything to do with this pitiful excuse for a company, who clearly makes a living by being a douche. Cash-​only in 2012? Bull. If you’re in need of a tow or a AAA option, look elsewhere!

The owner is a complete POS who lied and told me he wasn’t around until next week, then admitted he owned the place. The driver reused to jack up my car (it was on the rims) but told me to drive it somewhere else. When I said I couldn’t, he left. Protech came and did it in 2 minutes.
If you have AAA, request Protech. They are excellent, and these guys are terrible. I hope they go out of business.

Horrible service. Showed up 30 minutes after they said they would, had another car on the flatbed and said they were towing our car home first. Took them 4 hours to tow a car 86 miles. When I called to inquire where our car was, they said they had an «issue» halfway to our house. The issue was that they dropped the other car off first and the driver picked up his friend for the ride.
I wouldn’t have had any issue with the timeframe had they been honest in what they were doing. Would not recommend to anyone and am filing a complaint with AAA in the morning.

I have had bad car luck lately and have used this company 3 times within the last week. Each time they came a different person was sent. All three people were helpful and calm. Two out of three times they arrived earlier than they estimated. Overall I really liked their people and they brightened up my bad car day a bit each time!
