Rude service. The host demanded we stand by the door and order to go when there was only a few ppl in the restaurant.

Pleasant and inviting atmosphere. Friendly service. Pan-Asian cuisine on Brighton Avenue in Allston. A little bit of Chinese, Taiwanese, Korean, and Japanese. Extensive menu of bubble tea and shaved ice. The rice plates(bento) are the bulk of the menu. Tasty salt & pepper fried chicken bites are crunchy and not greasy and compliment the simple sides of corn, basil, and broccoli nicely. The white rice is served with pork meat sauce, like a gravy. Several choices of Korean bibimbap in the hot stone pot. The pot comes extremely hot. The fish cake with kimchi is pleasant with a heaping portion of fish wedges, almost the consistency of harder tofu, mild kimchi, bean sprouts, carrot, and tons of steamy white rice. A beautiful rare egg sits atop. Handle with care and stir vigorously to not burn the edges and further cook the egg. Mix in the desired amount of hot red chili sauce.

I’ve been coming here since college, and I can always depend on Blue Asia for an affordable delicious meal. I usually get the quarter leg chicken with rice and veggies. The lady who works here is the sweetest. She always offers to cut the chicken for you. It’s all about the little things, right? The chicken is very juicy and full of flavor and you get a huge portion. The rice is covered in a savory meat sauce. You also get veggies, depending on what they have — I’ve had both napa cabbage and green beans with corn as well. I’ve tried their popcorn chicken rice roll(like kimbap) which is alright, but probably won’t get it every time. They also have a huge selection of teas, bubble teas, and smoothies, which I have yet to try.

Militant pay system and rules — made me feel like I was in Catholic school again. Sheesh. Walking in for a boba or tea to go? Don’t expect to be able to sit down(in an entirely empty restaurant) after walking all day while you wait for your order! Happened to us on multiple occasions. Bring cash, they have minimums. Ate lunch already and you just wanna order a drink while your friend eats? NO. You cannot sit down unless you spend at least $ 8! Even if you’re the only customers there… You can’t even order a small dessert because of the minimum. The shaved iced portions are gigantic and you can’t order a small bowl(it’s delicious though if you do get a big bowl). The food itself — nothing memorable. Not bad, to be fair, but nothing super special. Despite all that their iced green boba teas with a touch of honey are actually pretty good. Boba is fresh and delish. Unfortunately will have to come here for boba since KFT sucks now. Go to Dolphin across the street for warmer service and similar fare and delish dessert. 1.5 stars. Rounded up because they have good drinks and dessert.

Blue Asia café is a great spot with good food and very nice staff. I got the Typhus rice rolls –dried pork, pork tenderloin kimbap essentially– and I recommend that, nice crispy meaty flavored bites. I also recommend their chicken and apple curry plate, and the popcorn shrimp plate. I was surprised that their watermelon smoothie was fresh and actually made from fruit and not syrup(at least that’s what it tasted like). Good drink for the summer. Again, staff is kind and attentive, accommodating. Recommend for a good bite and chill café atmosphere.

This place is like home like going to your friends place, very cozy and the owner alway knows what you like and how much the food should be cooked etc. The owner is always smiling and sometimes would try to help us find parking very friendly. Our fav dish is the hot clay rice, fried chicken and the beef roll. Visit there almost 1 – 3 a month, the quality of the food is always great!

Food here is pretty good and affordable. Came here after playing ball with some of my classmates and the restaurant was pretty packed. We were lucky people were just done eating as we walked in so we got a table right away. Their fried pork chop rice is so bad for you but so damn good. Super crispy pork chop that is flavorful and tender on the inside. The fried rice had good flavor as well and I love it that it was topped off with a perfectly fried egg.

Food at Blue Asia Café is simply delicious and fresh. I had their noodle soup with fried shrimp, which topped with cilantro. The soup is not spicy but I asked for hot sauce on the side. Service is fast and efficient with a great smile on my server’s face. She is courteous and promt with her service. Fried red wine belly is one of my fav dish. Crispy outside and the perfect chewiness of the fried pork belly… ok…so who does not like fried pork belly, yum!

Here is an explanation of the absurd rule that everyone should be aware of: Minimum charge of $ 8 per person. There is more to it than meets the eye. There is an additional hidden clause that everyone must order at least $ 8, and the quota cannot be combined within the table, meaning if you are there with a party of 4, it is not enough to hit 4 x $ 8 =$ 32. if someone in the party wants to get just a drink of $ 4, he/she needs to order something else to make up the $ 8 requirement. Why should it matter if we hit $ 32 by ordering large dishes to share VS ordering smaller dishes per person. This was not explicitly stated, and the server did not do a good job explaining it either. Clearly, this policy is one that will affect the diner’s experience, but it is not made obvious outside the store. Enforcing this policy even after we hit the ‘table quota’ just makes the café look greedy and petty… With the $ 8 minimum, this is definitely not an ideal dessert destination for large parties since individuals who do not wish to eat a lot will be forced to order a large item anyway. Try to order take out if you want just a dessert.

Staff isn’t too friendly, but I had a hearty meal. The bubble tea and dishes are solid and priced fair. I don’t know why people are shocked by the credit card minimums. If you are going to an Asian restaurant, bring cash.

$ 4 for just hot tea? $ 8 minimum order per person? Especially when you have a lot of desserts on your menu(just as much as there is food) and many that are under 8 $…you’re going to attract people who come in just for dessert. Plus a $ 20 credit card minimum? Plus you spoke about us in Mandarin while my partner had to run to the atm because of your many paying restrictions?(Yeah I heard you lady) No thanks. One of a few places to get Chinese/Taiwanese shaved ice and hot dessert soups, it was good but not worth their greediness.

超爛的服務態度,午餐小費給低於15%,服務生就會暴怒的追討小費。我每個朋友都遇到過,如果想被氣死的話可以試試看。 Hi, I am a Taiwanese. This restaurant has a very bad service quality. If you pay tips lower than 15%, including lunch, their waitress will be very angry and ask for more tips by an very, very impolite attitude. If you want to have a bad moon with your meal, go there.

This is my second favorite restaurant in Boston. It’s small, casual, cozy, and the dishes feel home made. The portions are huge and the price is reasonable. It’s run by some Chinese/Taiwanese? girls and a guy(they all speak Mandarin and English), I’m not sure if they’re are a family or not, but it feels family owned. They honestly make the best bibimbab, better than most Korean restaurants in the area(like Color or Korean Garden which were gross). The apple curry chicken cutlet is fantastic, and the chicken leg is pretty good too. The seaweed portion is gigantic(I ordered it to toss in my bibimbab and it was SO much! We used to come here almost every week!

I live blocks away from this place but can’t believe I have never been here before. Blue Asia Café offers great balance meals for very reasonable prices. For appetizers, we got the salt and pepper fried chicken with basil, a special seasoning they put on the chicken makes it very unique and delicious. For entrée, I got the Sliced Pork Belly Sautéed w. Spicy Kimchi over Rice. It tastes as good as it sounds :) The steamed broccoli and corn was a healthy bonus that completes the food pyramid. The portion is large enough that appetizer is not unnecessary and I had no room left for dessert. Very worth it for the price and highly recommended.

++Their bobas are amazing, one of the best. Soft n’ real sweet. Love! ++Their rice plates are awesome. Rec the ‘Braise Pork Belly over Rice’. You get 2 strips of pork that isn’t dry with plenty of belly fat. Didn’t eat anything for the rest of the day as it was that filling. They try to keep their plates balanced with scoops of boiled corn and broccoli as sides. Their fried egg was an excellent topper. Friendly service from a young lady who was considerate working with my friend who is a vegetarian. BAC is reminiscent of the food courts of Asia, albeit cleaner and with heartier portions. Will be back :)

Taiwanese café with some random Korean food choices too. They have your typical appetizers — beef roll, egg pancakes, scallion pancakes, dumplings, etc. as well as entrees– beef noodle soup, fried pork chop with rice, jajiang mian, etc. They have korean rice dishes like bibimbap and shin ramen soups lol. as in they spice up your typical shin ramen instant noodles with meats and an egg. Interesting. but I’d rather just make that at home. and not pay $ 7.95 for it But aside from that, I enjoyed our pork chop rice! It’s not as crispy as other places, but the flavor was there! It comes with rice, corn, tofu, and a fried egg. So filling! We also got the beef noodle soup, which was different from any other place I’ve had it at. The soup was thicker, almost like a curry soup consistency. There were large pieces of beef though and it tasted good. It reminded me of my mom’s cooking! I also love that they use the fat/wide noodles! I’d come back to try their jajiang mian, appetizers, and dessert! And the service was GREAT! They were so friendly and attentive :] not snobby at allll **$ 20 minimum for credit card AND $ 8 minimum per person for dine in
