This used to be one of the best stores in the area. Now it’s one of the worst. Every time I try to shop here something is amiss. I just went in to get some fresh roses and vegetables. The roses looked bad. I spotted the floral Mgr unwrapping some new flowers. She said they had to drink an hour or they won’t survive. She said I couldn’t get any for one hour! Are you kidding me. Where is the store manager. It’s 9:30 am everything should be ready to go.

Yea that crab thst I was so happy to get was spoiled. I called them to let them know I wanted a refund. I was told I couldn’t get one because the customer service desk was closed for the night. I argued as I did not want to keep spoiled crab in my home all night. I was told I could drop it off and then come back the next day for my refund. Um I don’t have time for that. I called customer service. At least they were nice. They told me to throw away the crab immediately as I do not want hazardous food in my home. Yep he called it hazardous food. I was then told I would get a full refund. I did indeed get my refunf of $ 60.00. But I can honestly say I will never shop here again. That crab was my birthday dinner. So yea happy birthday to me. Also when I went in for the refund the clerk didn’t even apologize. Horrible customer service.

Tom Thumb was the benchmark of grocers for years IMO. However, this location has struggled. I enjoyed purchasing fresh desserts from this location, what in the world has happened. Bland, Tasteless, thrown together desserts-we do better making it from the box. They have gotten rid of the choco chewy cookie. The Deli staff are always annoyed doing their job. If i want fresh chicken why do you dissuade me cook me a fresh batch darn it folks!!! If the food sitting out looks unkept guess what noone wants it. Bring back the t-bones in the Frozen Dept. I can say they have a wide selection of products in the aisles and the meat is always fresh. The butcher and most managers on the floor greet you. The cashiers, mehh…

It’s hard to describe the difference between two stores that are less than 5 miles apart. This Tom Thumb appears to be much better managed. I interacted with four different employees. All were friendly and smiling. Michael in the deli department, Christian at check out, and the two others whose name I did not get working in the bakery items were both knowledgeable and courteous. The quality of the items in the prepared foods appears to be fresher and attention to hygiene seems to be also better managed. Both people and the baked items knew exactly what the shelflife was on a frozen bakery item that The store across the street from my home gets wrong every time! I seriously question the competence of the management at the Tom Thumb located at the corner of Hedgecoxe and Alma. As a stark contrast, this store has shown all of the signs of a well-managed location. I will drive the extra 3 to 4 miles to go to this location as opposed to the one less than three blocks from my home.

Still only one staffed lane open. And a cart full of groceries. However, the self checkout has 4 spots open. Blah!!!

Haven’t been to a TT since the one in McKinney became Minyards, but they had an ad special I wanted and was near this one. Really clean location convenient to the highway, and the stock was good on the item I needed. Found a few other things, so it wasn’t a one-item trip. Odd… they were out of platic bags, so the checkout process was slow while they bagged folks with paper.

Horrible Tom Thumb… easily the worst in the chain in my area. The employees smoke right outside the glass doors. They also spit on the pavement with the merchandisers… it’s just a nasty, nasty, store. You go in, get your groceries, then you have to wait for the slacker employees to come back in and check you out. …just a nasty store. stay away!

Tom Thumb for me is one of the best stores around next to Whole Foods, and Market Street. The meat is fresh always, and so is the food at the deli. They probably have some of the best flowers around if you looking for something quick to take home, and the service is good even after hours. They are also carrying many Gluten Free items now, more than Walmart and Target combined! Prices are usually cheaper than most stores, but it also depends on what you are buying. They will also custom make any cake you want for a birthday or party, and the baker goes above and beyond. Lori is the head cashier and one of the best people we ever talk to when we shop at this location. Enjoy!

I haven’t really been to this Tom Thumb until I ordered my daughters birthday cake. I usually order her cakes at the Tom Thumb in Frisco on Preston, but this location was better to the location her party was to be held. I expected no less than the level of service and quality I receive in Frisco. I went in and ordered her a marble cake. On the day of the party, I picked it up with no kinks. When it was time to cut the cake at her party, we discovered that it was not marble but actually white cake with a teeny tiny sliver of chocolate running through it. I photographed it and went along with the party. The next day, I went in and told them that I did not get what I ordered. I showed them the photo and they told me that’s how their marble cakes look. Well, if that’s the case, they really shouldn’t be calling them marble cake. because it’s really not. So after dealing with the very argumentative teenage twerp, a manager passed by and told him to give me a 50% refund. I appreciated that, although they made it seem like I was just there for the purpose of a refund which was not the case. I simply wanted them to know that the cake was not made how I had ordered it. Of course, I accepted the 50% refund and went along my way. If the manager had not offered an apology and a remedy, I would be giving them 1 star.

This store was remodeled some time ago, and while it looks nice, some of the issues(IMO) that were there before, are still there. While the staff are all quite friendly and helpful, the prices for brand name items remain an issue. While there are some good values, one must look carefully before you buy if you’re on a budget. Soft drinks are often quite expensive unless they’re on sale, as are most of the meat and dairy staples. Produce has it’s moments, but if you need something a little off the beaten path, you might need to shop elsewhere. Still, some jewels are available; the Safeway brand spaghetti sauce is quite good, inexpensive, and actually has tomatoes as the first ingredient(not tomato paste). Beer and wine selections are plentiful and decent in price.

The employees are some ot the nicest I have met. From the produce guy, the butcher, to most of the cashiers, they are attentive and friendly. Why the 2 stars? -=Expired food items=- If I could remember to bring my glasses I might be able to see those darned expiration dates printed in dots… that is if I knew where they are located on the product. We bought expired mayonnaise, expired Feta cheese, rotten produce(trust me you couldn’t tell until you cut into it), expired coffee, expired raisins, expired biscuits, lots of expired frozen products, and other products that had no expiration date but had obviously spoiled because it was so old. If we have the time, we do take it back, but that is a thing of the past. We are going to try Market Street now. The
