Texas State Optical

Thank you so much for an amazing customer experience! I had a weekend trip from Miami to Dallas and forgot to pack my daily contacts and prescription glasses. Texas State Optical in Allen helped me out right away by providing the right contacts first thing in the morning after I arrived into town. Thanks to Texas State Optical I was able to see for the remainder of my trip!

Dr. Robertson is very professional but also personable. The staff is always extremely courteous, and very prompt. I’ve been a patient here 3 years and have never had to wait longer than 5 minutes, and when I call to make an appointment, I can be seen within a week. I have always had great experiences when ordering eyewear here, as well. I have referred family and friends here and definitely recommend the practice as a high quality one.

This was the most impressive doctors office I’ve ever been to. Easy appointment scheduling online, text message reminders, and when i got to the office they were ready for me at my scheduled time and so efficient. I was in and out in 45 minutes and left with a trial pair of contact lenses which they had in-​stock, which is surprising since I wear an uncommon prescription. Also I’d never been given photos of the retinal scan to take home with me. Will definitely recommend to everyone.

Best Exam I have ever had!!! Dr. Robertson is very detailed and explained very well. I was so impressed with the staff, very helpful, knowledgeable, and Professional. I have never been to an office that is so efficient. I was helped right away did not have to wait to be seen. I also loved my glasses. They have an awesome selection very stylish and lots to pick from. Definitely will keep on going there…

Initial visit went well, made the appointment thru the internet. A follow up call was received confirming appointment. Exam was thorough, picked out frames and was told 1 to 2 weeks for delivery. Spoke to the Dr about getting lenses for Google Glass as well and sent him information via email for the labs that produce them. 4 emails total sent and no response. I followed up the next day and they said they did receive them and were checking into it. Two weeks and no glasses, only excuses about how the lab messed them up. A few days later I received a cal saying the original glasses would be ready today (almost 3 weeks later). Called this afternoon and was told they were not ready, possibly the following Monday. Cancelled the order, will find another supplier. Additionally they never contacted the vendors for the Google Glass Lenses.

Before you visit with the doctor make sure you that all of the potential fees are explained to you. I went in for a routine exam and the bill ended up being over $ 300. Maybe their typical clientele doesn’t have a problem shelling that out but that’s a lot of money to me.
They sat me down for an eye scan which I did not request and was not told that there would be an additional fee for it. Also, many optometrists will include the «contact fitting» in the price of their exam. Do not expect that your vision plan will cover 100% of the standard exam fees. Their charges are just higher than standard coverage to pad their pockets with. I understand that in this marketplace eye doctors have needed to adapt to keep the income up but I cannot appreciate the way that this office conducts business. I felt duped like I had made bad purchase at a used car lot.
I was trying to save money because my previous doctor wasn’t covered under my new vision coverage. I should have just gone back to him and paid out of pocket. It would have been cheaper.

These guys are awesome! I needed an appointment at the last minute after another place didn’t approve my insurance prior to my appointment and informed once I got there that I wasn’t covered. I called and they got me in in 30 minutes. It was close to lunch and I ended up being there for a while so I’m sure they probably worked into to lunch. I came in to get fitted for new contacts and Dr. Hina Robertson was amazing! I have always complained of not being able to see very well in my left eye thinking that my prescription needed to be higher, but she actually took the time to get an accurate reading and found out that my prescription was significantly lower causing me to have trouble seeing.
She gave me two brands of contacts to try and I finally found a brand that doesn’t dry my eyes or leave my eyes feeling tired mid way through the day. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating. I appreciate everything they did so much! I will most certainly be back to get contacts, glasses, whatever! If you’re looking for an eye doctor that cares and will take the time to make sure you see your best, go here!

I was walking in the shopping center and noticed the new office and stopped in for a quick peek. Everyone in the office was incredibly helpful and I was able to get scheduled for an exam later in the day! I now have some great new glasses and don’t have to worry about my old glasses not being the correct prescription anymore. I definitely recommend Texas State Optical to everyone and I’ll be sending all of my family and friends their way.
