I have never seen a Panda Express managed more poorly then this one here in Allen Park. As a loyal customer to Panda Express I traveled during my lunch break from Romulus twenty minutes to just complete disappointment. ALL the tables in the restaurant were dirty unless someone wasn’t currently seated at one. This was 7 pm at night on Sunday May 29th, 2016 and there were NO entrees available unless you wanted to wait ten minutes, almost every pan on display was empty or old! The lady at the counter takes the first part of my order and then runs down to the end of the line. I said«I have a few more orders for you» and she turns to me and says«next time let me know everything you need all at once so I can take care of it down there». I said«Can’t ask me if I need anything else before you run off?» She rolled her eyes and moments later bolts out of the restaurant and you can clearly see her on break sitting in the phone in her car. Is this how Panda Express trains their employees to react to a negative customer interaction? It was handled so badly by the young lady a gentlemen named Chris stepped in and apologized and really did a great job of calming me down. I was going to pull a a manger out of the back but I really don’t want to get someone in trouble, maybe she was having a bad day? Chris handed me a free voucher as a gesture and I respect the offer but I’ll never eat at another Panda Express again after this experience, I will encourage all friends and family to do the same. Great job Chris find a new employer buddy your too good at what you do to work for an employer that handles itself so unprofessional manner.

I don’t understand all the negative reviews, I stopped by for lunch today it was fantastic experience. very friendly staff. location is perfect, huge parking lot with outside tables. nicely cool interior. this is American Fast food Chinese food, not an authentic Chinese food restaurant, it’s an American version of taco bell, but Chinese. why are people looking for Authentic? then go to and Authentic place and don’t be cheapskate. I thought it was fine. food was warm and it suppose to be. will definitely stop here again.

Out in Allen Park for a Sunday shopping run, the wife says, «How bad can Panda Express really be?» Pretty bad, it turns out. On the plus side, the staff were very pleasant. However, the food just did not taste very good. Nothing seemed like you’d get sick or anything, but we didn’t want to finish any of it. Seems like it should be very possible to do this«Chipotle model» for Chinese food, but they are not doing it.

After hearing so much negative about Panda Express I found myself near one and really wanting some decent Chinese food. I didn’t find it at Panda Express. The food(chow mein/string bean chicken breast) was disappointing. In fact the only thing I remotely enjoyed was the over cooked rangoon-because it wasn’t sweet or crabby, only chives and cream cheese but the spring rolls were inedible. I would imagine they are the Taco Bell of Chinese food or maybe not even that good.

They are making a reputation on running out of chicken teriyaki, not good, that’s my favorite there, haven’t been there in months now until they correct the problem.

I gave this place a shot out convenience, as I was shopping at nearby location. I had a ‘carryout plate’ of Beijing beef and orange chicken, with fried rice on the side. The food was warm, not hot.(The commute back to my office was 5 minutes.) There was nothing spectacular about it — as I told a colleague, «It is high-end dorm food».

Absolutely delicious food! Service was outstanding. One particular employee his name was«Matthew» was hands down the best one there. He went out of his way to make my experience one to remember and made me feel like I was appreciated for my business. Will definitely be going back as soon as possible. Thank you

Don’t bother. Check out any other chinese take out place in the downriver area and I guarentee the food will be faster and better tasting. There were 2 people in front of me in line and it took 15 minutes to get to the counter to even give my order. There was 1 car in the drive-thru, so I wouldn’t consider that«busy». After I ordered I saw the guy scoop the wrong chicken and when I said I ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken he told me that’s what he gave me. I said no, you gave me sweetfire Chicken. He laughed and scooped the rice into a different container and proceeded to give me the tiniest helping of sweet and sour chicken I’ve ever seen. There were maybe 4 little pieces of chicken and it was pretty dry, no sauce. I ended up throwing away most of the rice because there wasn’t any sauce from the entrée to flavor the rice. This is my 2nd time at this location(the first visit was even worse). This is also my last visit.

For fast food, it was good. I ordered orange chicken with grilled vegetables. The price was reasonable, as was the quality. As expected, they throw frozen chicken nuggets in a deep fryer. The sauce is what makes the dish, and though it was a little thicker than I’m used to, the flavor was good. I also ordered vegetable spring rolls. The outside was crispy and cooked perfectly. The inside was a little mushy, but edible. With plum sauce they were good. Service was efficient. It was too cold inside the restaurant(Why do some businesses crank the air conditioning up so high in the summer that you need a jacket just to sit inside?), so we sat outside. The temperature was perfect outside, and we enjoyed our parking lot view while eating. The trash can was overflowing, so we had to go inside to dispose of our trash, but that wasn’t a big deal in my opinion. I don’t expect perfection out of a fast food chain, and a three means it’s an average fast food joint.

I gave this place a fair shot before I wrote a review. The first few times I went here(or tried to?) after they opened was less than desirable. Once, their rice cooker was broken and another time they were out of everything. When I finally did get to eat here, I really enjoyed it. My favorites are the honey walnut shrimp and the orange chicken. Both are SO good. It’s nice this place is drive thru, too. I will definitely be going back. Update: So. Like I said, I tried to give this place a fair shot after opening to work out the kinks but I still find it inconsistent. I brought my rating down from a 5 to a 3, because it is definitely hit or miss with service and food choices. Sometimes they don’t have the most popular items on the menu, even when it’s pretty early on in the evening. Last time I went I waited in line in the drive thru for 25 minutes(pulled up around 9:05, they close at 9:30) and when I finally got to pull up to order they said, «Sorry, we close at 9:30.»

My experiences with with Panda Express has always been pretty average but my girlfriend and I stopped by this one and were extremely impressed. The cashier Ruth was extremely polite and helpful and even checked on us twice in the lobby while we were eating to see if we needed anything, which is not an experience I have had before at a Panda Express. While eating there I noticed the kitchen was extremely clean and the food was exceptionally fresh. I also noticed that an employee named Lauren was temperature checking all the food and throwing away what was not warm enough. I have never seen a fast food restaurant do this before and I was delightfully surprised. TLDR; Great customer service and food. Good temperature testing of food and clean kitchen. Would consume again.

I’ve been to this location twice. The first time I went was for a quick Chinese fix, and everything tasted remotely okay. However, the second time I went, my order was not fresh at all! I ordered a plate with chow mein, rice, crab rangoons, and honey walnut shrimp(which is 1.25 extra.) I was appalled at the quality of my food. It was cold and not fresh. The rice were old and tasted like plastic. The chowmein had cabbage in it; there were barely any noodles! I am extremely dissatisfied, and I will not be coming back to Panda Express.

This place has gone down hill since my last review. The vegetables were a mixture of over cooked vegetables and raw vegetables as if the cook didn’t make enough and added more at the last second. The Lo Mein noodles were dry and under seasoned. Half of their selections were out. The wait time for them to replace the missing dishes was so long that customers were walking out after having set up half of their plate. And I watched as a line cook used a paring knife to open a cardboard case; then, he used the same knife to open the bag of chicken inside and used the knife on the food without cleaning it to decontaminate it. They need a new manager or head cook to establish standards.

I had to visit Panda Express after a friend on Unilocal frequented regularly. I have to say that I like it better than the normal chinese food I’m used to. A meal is under $ 7 with 2 meats. Entrees include orange chicken, walnut honey shrimp, beef, chinese spare ribs and grilled teriyaki chicken breast to name a few. Sides include mixed veggies, chow mein, fried rice, and brown rice. I opted for orange chicken, grilled chicken teriyaki and mixed vegetables. It was a filling meal and the steamed vegetables were a nice portion. The staff was friendly in the drive thru and during the evening rush(yes I went back twice that day) the staff handled the large crowd with pleasantries. It is a chain, but the food is priced right and the flavor is worth a visit.

Went in here for dinner takeout and it was my first time i tried panda express! I am extremely glad i came in today. I will be here every time i can! Its a little chaotic but thats perfectly fine since that means they have business! I would have liked a little more noodles in the chow mein but its okay nothing im ganna go crazy about. The person serving us was super nice and even gave us samples and super affordable compared to the food courts. Hope they keep getting business!

I like Panda Express! I do… When I went here we had a super large order and the first employee started to help us and was very nice… Then this small, stereotypical Asian motherly creature stormed in and started shouting urgently at us to keep moving down the rine even though we hadn’t ordered our sides yet… How can I finish ordering my sides from the REGISTER? She was also very rude while we chose entrees. The guy who took our money redeemed the experience by being down to earth and funny. I know they want to keep the rine moving prease but she was over the top. Maybe they should have designed the place to handle a dinner rush properly without the line extending out the door instead of being pissy when a customer has a big order… Or maybe they shouldn’t offer large portions if they can’t handle preparing them when they are ordered!!! But seriously. The food was good and most of the employees were good. They need to work out some kinks ;)

Wow, this place has some serious management issues. This location has been open for over 3 weeks now. They open at 10:30 am for lunch. I walked in at 10:35 behind 2 other people and the first thing I was greeted with was a counter worker yelling«we can only accept credit cards!» Ok. Tried to order. «Sorry we don’t have any brown or white rice». Ok then, fried rice it is. Meanwhile there are a dozen employees scrambling around seemingly getting nothing accomplished. So the food is a decent value and tasty but I did end up with a large piece of bone in the Kung Pao chicken. This was my second visit for lunch. The first was also very chaotic. Overall it seems like they are ill prepared for business at this location. I certainly hope it improves.

The food here is very good, the décor is nice with unusually comfortable seating. And if you like taking your meals in the middle of a tornado you’ll like the atmosphere here too. Be ready for loud hyper music, loud buzzers going off that will be ignored until they go off by themselves, and 5 people yelling«Welcome to Panda» every time someone walks in the door. But the food is pretty good so… maybe get takeout? Update: This(1:15pm) visit heard no buzzers and music was much more pleasant — big improvement! Still need to allocate employees better. I was second in line for over a minute watching one person serve while three employees congregated around the register to deal with One customer. Good thing the food is way better than any fast food joint!

Recently opened, fast casual. I ordered a 3 entrée plate, as my side I picked the fried rice. The rice was average not bad, or great. For my entrees I picked Orange Chicken, Black Pepper Chicken, and Beijing Beef. I thought the entrees were all flavorful and would order anyone of them again. Also ordered a chicken egg roll that i enjoyed very much, as I do not like traditional shrimp egg rolls you find in most local chinese restaurants. price point was very good for the amount and quality of food you recieve.

Remember when Sonic had commercials in Michigan but they didn’t have any locations here, then when they finally came, everyone went ape-shit? Yea, that’s how I am with Panda Express arriving Downriver. My husband and I visited for the first time today. The place was chaotic but the employees handled it well. Obviously I’m giving the store slack(unlike another reviewer *ahem*) because the location just opened and this is a 100% brand new crew. Ordering was quick and painless. We were offered samples — nice touch. I picked a one-item bowl($ 5.60), and Jacob went for a two-item plate($ 6.60). Everything was served fresh and piping hot. The portions were large, especially for the prices. The store was loud. The employees yell at one another when an item is out of stock. Don’t come here for a relaxing meal. It’s gonna be hectic. That said, there is plenty of seating including booths for four, and multiple tables for eight, The décor is very modern and bright. I loved my orange chicken and am stoked for my leftovers. I look forward to more Panda Express in the future; hopefully by then the employees will have their bearings and it’ll be a little less crazy.
